The menu is very good and authentically Italian, though with scant meat selections. All of our courses were first rate. The wine list is quite interesting, varied, and marked up reasonably. The only (serious) criticism is the bread: common, tasteless white bread (along with boring focaccia) that is utterly un-Italian and totally out of place.

Il Corso is a good little find in an otherwise bleak midtown Manhattan restaurant scene for any but those on an expense account or a trust fund. I ate here with my wife and had the fennel insalate and the lobster paccheri. The fennel dish had an interesting mix of flavors (oranges and olives with the fennel, among other ingredients). It was a nice start. The pasta had just the right sauce. Perhaps not the most memorable pasta I have ever had, but a very nice dinner nonetheless - and at a price that would be noticeably higher anywhere else in midtown. The service was excellent. The room (or rooms) were cozy if a bit on the chilly side.

second visit seated immediately (wonderful on a frigid nite) good aperos, ate every last morsel of the calamari, 2 pasta dishes were devoured with relish. Wine was a very reasonably priced Barolo which was wonderful. Manager (Genarro) passed several times to assure was well Our server (Carlos) ran out the door as we were leaving to thank us for coming. Definitely a neighborhood gem.

Tucked within the busy streets of midtown Manhatten is arguably one of the best Italian restaurants in Manhatten. This Italian gem serves up creative cuisine night after night with a charm and sophistication not often found in our busy world today. each day there are specials that the chef prepares, and while the menu is creative, the true gems are to be found within this list of specials so charmingly described by your Italian host. Don't miss il Corso! It is an experience you will want to repeat over and over.

second time here looking for an affordable quality neighborhood resto tables comfortable and nicely spaced wines quite fairly priced with good international selection. Adelsheim $20 less than elsewhere. Also reasonable priced and very good sangiovese. service prompt and friendly antipasta fresh buratta wonderful and nicely presented pasta (what we went for) did not disappoint homemade, fresh, delicious fish dish was a shared sole (server allowed and encouraged sharing) with perhaps a bit to much garnish dish could probably stand on it's own sans topping but good none the less. look forward to a "three-peat" very good grappa selection, again reasonably priced, with several j polis

I brought some out-of-town visitors to Il Corso for dinner this weekend and we all loved it. Our table was ready when we arrived, the service was courteous and efficient, and the manager recommended the perfect wine to accompany our dinners. We enjoyed pastas, the veal, caesar salads and a lovely bottle of wine and felt that the total bill was a really great value. My out-of-towners appreciated the warm and cozy atmosphere and said they felt right at home. Highly recommend!

First time visit to Il Cosro based on a last minute recommendation for a client lunch. The meal couldn't have been more enjoyable. I had the gnocchi which were outstanding (another recommendation) my client wanted something "off the menu" simple but they happily obliged. They offer a nice, diverse wine list with something for every budget. Definitely on my list for future meals.

Very conveniently located- very close to MOMA. My cousin and I sat in the back room, and found it quite cozy. If seated in the front room, you will feel like the staff and customers are constantly brushing past you. The wine list is quite extensive, and they have a great selection of spirits too. The menu offers anything you could ever want for Italian specialties, with some very creative combinations. I had a lovely pasta with brandy-lobster sauce, full of chunky lobster meat. My cousin had linguine with shrimp and prosciutto. The service was highly attentive- we wanted for nothing. The prices, for New York, I thought were fairly reasonable. All in all, we had a delightful meal at Il Corso and we are planning to return.

...the food is outstanding - the wine, well selected (deferred to a staff recommendation as ours was not available that evening) - the service, attentive. The linguine with clams (LINGUINE ALLE VONGOLE VERACI - 22.00) was outstanding - it wrapped the palate in sweet, smoky goodness, and lingered there just long enough to savor. The fruitti de mare was enjoyable. I don't think the menu on line is current - but it's always best to cook what's fresh so that wasnt a bother to us. We enjoyed the experience very much, and already recommended it to others!

Salad was very good - fresh, crisp greens and delicate dressing. Service was attentive and pleasant. My pasta dish was a disappointment - very nice al dente, homemade pasta but with no flavor and swimming in oil. My dining partner's pasta dish however was very good - a ravioli with a tomato based sauce.

We chose this spot based on the reviews but we feel we must have gone to a different restaurant. There is no ambience, but then we thought ok-- the food will be great. It was horrible. Each dish was a disappointment, the grilled octopus, the seafood cioppino, the veal Milanese, steak, were all just nothing. Perhaps this is just a place for pasta-- which we didn't have. And the bill was ridiculous for the experience. I don't usually write anything but if you're basing your choice on the reviews-- stay away!!
