Diner Reviews
  • "We went there with our 2 kids and not only they were super nice serving us the food and options were extraordinary. Nicely priced as well. Had a great salmon tartare and kids had a delicious spaguetti a bolognesa"

  • "Great Italian food! Pastas are excellent! Menu online is slightly different than in the restaurant. Service was very good in typical Italian fashion. They were out of the buffalo mozzerella appetizer but we got burrata instead.. I had pasta with mushrooms. It was cooked perfectly and very fresh tasting. My wife had the Gnocchi which I sampled and they melted in your mouth with wonderful flavors.. Next time I will definitely try some fish or meat.. Put this one on your list if you are going for Italian.."

  • "Grilled octopus very good, but pasta too al dente with weird mushroom sauce. Not enough time to finish dinner. Service to slow."

  • "The food was horrible and definitely not worth the price. The place looked nice but I didn't appreciate the service nor the meal."

  • "Our waiter, David, was so attentive. He did not seem to hover, but yet appeared quickly to pour more wine or check in with us. The food was very good and he recommended great specials. It was a beautiful summer night and we wanted to be outside to eat, but we were glad we chose Il Corso once we get there."

  • "Thought it was extremely reasonable and food was very, very good! Would definitely go back again."

  • "We ordered rhe specials recommended by our waiter. The lobster risoto had no taste at all and had no lobster as well. The lamb had about 6 bites total and was flavorless. Dont expect decent mixed drinks here as the waiter was the bartender. Paid way too much for a very unsatisfying meal."

  • "I only have the opportunity to eat there a couple of times each year, but it has always been excellent."

  • "Il Corso is classic Italian served thoughtfully by attentive servers. Nice selection of wines. Delicious from starter to dessert and coffee!"

  • "My daughter and I tried this restaurant for the first time and will definitely return. We both had suburb fresh pasta entrees- that were light and flavorful without being too garlicky. The frisée salad with beets and watermelon was photo worthy and delicious. We couldn't resist the vanilla panne cotta which was hands down the best I've ever had. The ambiance and decor was wonderful and much better than the online photograph. The high backed (beautifully upholstered) banquette with a neutral fabric with subtle sheen runs along one side of the restaurant and adds sophistication to the space. The staff was friendly and attentive-even bringing over a tiny chair for my purse. I wish this restaurant was in my neighborhood!"

  • "On a quiet Sunday night, we looked through our zagat guide for help.....nothing jumped out. On open table however, the reviews for il corso were amazing. We made a reservation, and were thrilled to find this gem so close to our time share. Great service and such nice food. The lasagna was my all time fave."

  • "We went here to celebrate my nephew's promotion. He is 23. Our daughter who is 21 came with my husband and myself. Not only could we not hear but they could not hear us at all. We had to yell to have a conversation so at the end of the day, not a place I would go back to for a meal that cost us $300.00!"

  • "I have been to this restaurant many times over the years - they never disappoint. "

  • "very knowledgeable waiter the only drawback was the hostess who was rather rude and dismissive and offered us the worst table in the restaurant when others were open."

  • "Dined at Il Corso by happenstance - we were staying at the Warwick around the corner and wanted to dine-in close by. What a find! The food is outstanding (we had dinner there one night, and lunch there a day later). Fresh homemade pastas. Long-simmering sauces. Fresh well-prepared seafood dishes. Nice wine selection. Service was perfect - friendly, attentive but did not hover or rush us. It's a lovely little gem of a restaurant in all ways. "

  • "We usually eat at Il Corso on our trips to New York city and it's a must of us. Our food was excellent and service was good. Our waiter left us to deal with a customer/friend (we could see them from our table) and the other waiter help us get out orders. Everything went smoothly but it was strange. The first waiter just stared at us when we said our good-byes. Our hope is that the second waiter gets our tip. "

  • "Very friendly and knowledgable staff. They don't rush you out so great for catching up with friends. The pasta is fresh and delicious. Not my first time eating here and won't be my last!"

  • "My boyfriend, sister, brother-in-law, and 1 year old nephew had a great late night dinner. We sat in the back of the restaurant with more room and able to enjoy with a toddler in tow. The arugula salad was amazing!! "

  • "Our party included 2 NY repeat customers and a newbie to the city. Chose this restaurant b/c of close proximity to our hotel (it was late and pouring), and on-line ratings. We have a tradition of Italian for our first night in whatever neighborhood we stay in. Il Corso will now be our "first night" every trip. Produce was extremely fresh and inventive..watermelon paired w/ beets, delicious. The pasta standards were far from standard with no doubt that all ingredients were prepared as we waited! Our newbie loved it so much, she wanted to dine there again during the same trip. Desserts, oh my. Try the Nutella/chocolate pie. The service was impeccable with friendly, knowledgeable and gracious staff! Can't wait to return."

  • "Can't believe I've worked one block away for almost 8 years and never knew about this place! Felt like I was in Italy - from the delicious homemade pastas, to the hospitable Italian service. It was raining and they brought a little chair for my bag. Wouldn't change a thing and will be back. "

  • "We had a very good meal at IL Corso. Started with excellent Burrata with tomatoes and a salad of Farro and Shrimp. Also had the Cavatelli with sausage and broccoli di rabe. Cooked perfectly and tasted great. Friendly service and it was nice on a warm afternoon with the front of the restaurant open. The restaurant is casual and unpretentious. I will return."

  • "My husband and I met his sister while she was in the city for a conference before going to the theater. At her suggestion, I made a reservation at Il Corso. Quite frankly, it was was a disappointing (and expensive) dinner. They had the avocado and cariofin salads to start, while I had the tuna carpaccio. Small portions - definitely not enough to share. For dinner, she had branzino, which she loved. We had pasta dishes. Unfortunately, I can't remember what we had. One was really good, the other featured tough, undercooked noodles that sat on the plate in a clump. Four glasses of wine, a soda and a cappuchino. Slow service. Well over $250 with tax and tip. And unfortunately. not memorable. Hedwig and the Angry Inch - definitely!!"

  • "Went for a pre Mother's Day dinner before a show. Chose this place because of previous reviews , didn't disappoint Food was delicious and elegantly plated. Didn't feel rushed just taken care of. Waiters were professional and knowledgable about the entrees. Would recommend"

  • "Absolutely nothing special will be found there... Food was just ok, although no truffle in the pasta when it was expected (parpadelle). Also the meat was not very good. Just disappointing. And we payed $140 being just 2 people. Only 1 beer and 1 glass of wine and just 1 appetizer!!! Too much for what we had..."

  • "Food ranged in quality--the fresh pasta was excellent, the veal tough. Prices are very fair. If you stick with the specials and homemade pasta, you will have a very good meal. Service was very good. Small and noisy--not the place for quiet conversation"

  • "We were looking forward to a quiet, romantic dinner. However, there was a table close by with a very small baby who was not happy. For an appetizer we had fried calamari It was very rubbery and did not have a golden color but was very pale. The arugula salad was great. The best thing we had. My pasta (ravioli) was OK but not great. With so many fabulous restaurants in New York I will not re-visit Il Corso."

  • "Very high quality meal for a reasonable price in NYC! We will be back! Artichoke and avocado salad was excellent. My filet was likewise excellent."

  • "We were early for lunch, and the only guests when we arrived, but soon more arrived, but not exactly crowded. It should be crowded. The food was very good and the service very nice. We were glad we chose Il Corso for our pre-matine lunch."

  • "I regularly visit Italy and the food here was very authentic and delicious. Maybe a little pricey but im not from NYC."

  • "Arrived drenched from a downpour, needed to be revived. The Ravioloini (lamb ravioli in artichoke broth) worked miraculously. On to the Panzanella for an insulate with a crunch, very creative. I had the special, Ravioli with cherry tomatoes, and my wife mistakenly ordered the Veal Milanese. I say mistaken for she gave me a taste and I ate most of it too. She's so sweet (and trim!). Straight to the point, food so exceptional I returned my second night in NYC for more delights (broke prior reservation). I don't know what it is about the Italians, beyond the food there is the charm. The sound of English spoken with their unique accent. It's hard to know which of my senses they stimulate most. My wife has been learning Italian. Now I am too. "

  • "the food was amazing ...especially the pastas. Our waiter Alessandro was fantastic. He served us perfectly. He helped us through the menu and was very knowledgeable on wine. Our only complaint was that the pork dish seemed more like a pork schnitzel. It was just kind of boring. Other than that the rest of the meal was above amazing."

  • "Il Corso simply has some of the best homemade pasta you will taste anywhere in the world. This ranks high compared to any restaurant in Italy and we have been to over 100. The service is friendly and impeccable. And dont forget the panna cotta....trust me - you will enjoy it!!! The only negative was the air conditioning was blowing on our table slightly but with the tastes on our palate we could not be bothered. This place concentrates on its food, not the decor - and that suites us just fine. Keep it up Il Corso!"
