After we decided to not go for dessert, the manager gave us a taste of something devine that was similar to a shake with liqueur in it that made us want to go back just for dessert sometime. We did not have this experience as the dishes we chose were plentiful and tasteful. The dessert was outstanding and the service was top notch - one item I was disappointed in was, the wine selection. Young and not so much of a good selection to choose from."

  • "My boyfriend and I visited this restaurant for Valentine's day. The service in the bar and the drinks were delicious. These are the two reasons the food/service received "fair" from me. The service in the dining room was severely lacking. The appetizer and main course were good, but the dessert which was pretty expensive, was actually soggy. Overall pretty disappointing since it was Valentine's Day. I wouldn't pay that amount again for this particular restaurant."

  • "Everyone from the moment we walked in the door at il bel lago were exceptionally professional and polite! And the food was absolutely AMAZING! We were very impressed with the staff and their knowledge of the menu and wines (since we had a lot of questions). As we dined we watched the way the staff all worked together as a team and let me tell you they were absolutely flawless!! And we even saved room for a cannoli for dessert, which was the best I've ever had! We were so impressed and felt like royalty while we dined there because of all the attention we received from everyone (even the owner came by and said hi and asked how we were doing). Thank you il bel lago staff for such a great time!! See u again soon!!"

  • "Our reservation was for 2 at 7:30pm. It was very busy. Our table was not ready when we arrived at 7:25pm and we were invited to take a seat at the bar until it was ready. We were seated at 7:50pm. The food was great and the waiter was attentive and left us wanting for nothing, but we were sat in an area that appeared to be where maybe a band or some form entertainment was frequently set up. It was right off the bar area and had very little to be desired as far as decorations go. There was a flat screen up on the wall that was looping a really bad video of Italy by flight. I was a little disappointed that my bride and I did not get seated in the waterfall room. My suggestion would be to request the waterfall room when making the reservation."

  • "Now I know it was Valentines Day weekend an all, but this is the first truly bad Open Table booking experience. An 8 pm reservation was not honored for over 35 minutes because they overbooked. Waiter was clearly tired earning all the money for the restaurant earlier that day and was rushed and short with us during the entire setting...not something you'd expect from any Italian restaurant. Food was so-so, nothing palate-catching. Has anyone ever tried to eat a piece of carrot cake with a huge dining fork? We did! Not to mention stirring a cappuccino with a soup spoon! All of this may sound trite, but it's something one would not expect from a place with this kind of rating on foodie sites, holiday or not."

  • "It was busy for lunch so you should definitely make a reservation. This was a business lunch. Food was OK, I had the Tilapia and it was a little mushy but OK. The real problem was the service. I had to call the waiter over in order to take our order. Then even though our table was cleared after our meal, I had to call the waiter over to get our check. My husband and I had been there for dinner previously as well and, with limited people in the restaurant, the service was very good. But the food was just OK."

We treated our son and his girlfriend to dinner, and we were all very satisfied. Our server, Tom T, was warm, engaging, very knowledgeable of the various servings, and he offered recommendations and suggestions to satisfy our dining experience. Our Cosmopolitan and martini cocktails were flawless. Carpaccio is a must. Ravioli del Giorno was outstanding. Panzanella, Torteloni Vitello, Veal Chop Parmesean, Cannellone, and Linguini Con Fruitti were superb. Tom T suggested Cherries Jubilee dessert, which I have not had since the 70's. He's old-school, and his table-side creation was outstanding. Very well done!!"

  • "1st time for me....seated promptly and visited by mgmt more than once. Great menu, specials, drinks, etc. Food was very good...not the best ever but prices were very reasonable. I really liked my Cesear salad and I had the scampi -- it was very god...I prefer more garlic and less bread crumbs. The rack of lamb was fabulous as were the desserts and coffee. Convenient...great service....reasonably priced...I'll go back again no doubt.....and no issues with parking or access.....and for large groups, we saw several more private areas...."

Our server Tom provided some recommendations and the food was excellent. I had the sea bass which was prepared just right. After dinner, we enjoyed a couple of drinks in the bar and were entertained with the kareoke which ranged from great to a cow in labor. As an added bonus, HOF Jackie Smith sang a few songs. We will definitely go back."

We really like the decor here as well. It's not cheap, but well worth it. Regardless of personal tastes, you would have to put Bel Lago in the top five in the city. No place is better."

We ordered the special, some slow cooked bone-in pork and vegatable dish which has a name I don't remember. But it was delicious. The waiter was charming and professional. Atmosphere was quiet except for the cheesy Happy hour 2 piece band, beloved by a couple girls-night-out tables"
