Half the table could not hear him at all and missed out on the details of the menu. We ordered our food 45 min before closing time and promptly at 10 pm they turned the lights up to full brightness for several minutes to "encourage" us to leave. Several minutes they turned the lights completely off for a few minutes. The restaurant was still half full at this time and we had not even ordered desert yet. The food and wine were excellent at III Forks. The sides are huge; 2 sides can be shared easily by 3 people (If you devour the delicious hot-out-of-the-oven bread first,make that 4 people). The only weak point was the bartender - didn't seem too knowledgeable and was not very helpful with suggestions, etc. Could step up the friendliness/attention to detail in that area. The server was very good and attentive and knowledgeable. Food was beyond awesome; the filet is wonderful as are the 6 cheese potatoes. The one in Houston is in downtown and basically you have to valet if you want to eat there as there really isn't street parking nearby. The only dig I have for them is that the valet got a BIG dent in our car and hid it from us when we were leaving.
The food was delicious. I got the filet and I literally didn't use a knife, the fork cut the meat. It was plated on a plain white plate. Not an exciting presentation, but typical of steakhouses. The side was lobster mac n cheese. Wow, just wow! So rich and delicious! We also both had the III Fork salad and it was worth getting. Our waiter was extremely attentive, but again not too much.
