Diner Reviews
  • "Our only experience there was that the food and service were very good. The hostess was little persnickety and refused to seat us in the large quiet (and nearly empty) dining room and instead sat us in the bar area, despite reservation. The dining room remained empty for the entire time we were there. Our server was friendly and helpful with menu selections. The food was very good. They need a dress code in this price range. I was with my wife in business casual and we sat next to a large beast with his belly bulging out his shirt, in shorts and flip-flops."

  • "I've been to III Forks on many occaisions as it is well suited for business lunches or dinners, and typically, the food is great. This time, the food disappointed. I ordered a NY Strip - medium rare. I was quoted the standard description by the waitress: red and warm inside...yes, perfect, I replied. Steak came medium-well (brown and light pink)... Waitress immediately apolopgized and ordered another steak...my colleagues enjoyed their meals while I waited for my food to arrive. Unfortunaltely, the second piece came red and cold inside...not the best performance for the kitchen which is usually top notch."

  • "I was very impressed with the food here, and the service was amazing. My first visit here and I will definitely come back. I had the lamb chops which came with 4 large pieces(I could only finish 2). My wife had the 22 oz boneless prime rib eye(medium). Steak was amazing, I enjoyed the lamb but it did have a slight bit tinge of Dijon mustard taste. So if you don't enjoy mustard, don't get the lamb chips. I didn't really care of the 2 appetizers we got which was the crab cake and the calamari strips. Desert was really good, cheesecake and chocolate cake. Overall had a good experience."

  • "Great steaks and service. The sides to share were marginal in my opinion. Plenty to share but the hash and mac and cheese were nothing special (I expected more); asparagus was fresh and perfectly grilled. Very attentive and friendly wait staff! Consider your mother's mac and cheese recipe and drop the shells for traditional macaroni. I also see hash in a different light, as it was rather syrupy, which I do not expect when I order hash. It was more like candied yams, cut into small pieces than a true hash."

  • "Truly enjoyed our meal at III Forks and the service was acceptional. (Thanks Jerry for a very enjoyable evening) The III Forks salad was the best salad I've ever had. The lobster mac and cheese was to die for!!!! The pork chop was so moist and tender. I can't give a review on the dessert, because we were too full!!! Loved it all. ;)"

  • "Well-priced, well-prepared filet mignon with the best baked potato ever! Excellent appetizer of mozzarella and tomato that they kindly split in the kitchen. I always appreciate that little touch. Wines by the glass were sensational! We went early on a Friday night and had the place to ourselves so service was excellent. The decor is a bit "manly" but, heck, it's a steakhouse so what did I expect?"

  • "My wife and I ate here for our anniversary, and it was a very nice experience. We both chose selections from the meat market, I chose a bone-in Rib-eye and my wife had the 8 oz filet. My steak was nicely seared on the outside and cooked to a pink/red on the inside. The flavor was quite incredible, and my wife's steak was also delicious, melt-in-your-mouth quality, as a filet ought to be. We had a soft shell crab as an appetizer, and this was the only part of the meal that was a let down for me. I highly recommend the 6 cheese potatoes, as they were one of the highlights of the meal."

  • "I had heard great things about this restaurant and had wanted to try it out. My co-worker and I went after a a long day. The service was excellent!! We went early enough to avoid the crowd, but by 6:45pm the restaurant was really noisy. Great for fun, not so great when trying to recap a long day. The waiter recommended the catch of the day as an entree. I enjoyed the stuffed shrimp and crab cake, however the mahi mahi was not good at all. The mahi mahi was extremely bland and flavorless, so was the accompanying sauce. I was overall disappointed, thinking I should have had the steak. My colleague really enjoyed his steak. I also found it odd that the hostess, who said it was her first day, didn't know where the restroom was. "

  • "I have dined here before and both food and service was excellent! Julissa was our server and was absolutly terrific, not to mention very pleasing to the eye. I enjoyed the iii forks salad and boy was it delicious. As for the steak, I had a tomahawk ribeye and the flavor was mind blowing. The sides were equally delightful as well. The manager, Manny, checked on us and had a little conversation with us. He showed exceptional hospitality. Richard Ridemore."

  • "First time at III Forks Houston and what a great experience. From the moment we walked in the door the staff was professional and the restaurant absolutely gorgeous. Their massive wine cellar as you walk in the door is an impressive sight to behold indeed. The crab cake was one of the best I have ever had and the III Forks salad shouldn't be missed. My husband and I both ordered a steak. They were cooked perfectly and were two of the best steaks either of us had ever had. The six cheese potatoes and creamed corn complemented the steaks perfectly. Our server Julissa was absolutely charming. She provided wonderful service and had a welcoming, friendly attitude. We will definitely return to III Forks the next time we are craving steak. "

  • "At those prices we shouldn't have had to wait to be served. It took the better part of 15 mins before our server showed up. The sides just didn't compare to other high end steak restaurants such as Ruth Chris or The Taste of Texas."

  • "Cindy was the perfect server, knowledgeable friendly and easy going. Steak and salad were benchmark for a steakhouse. Would recommend a million times over."

  • "Service was very good, and the III Forks salad was outstanding. The filet was on the small side, but properly prepared, and the chocolate mousse was decadently rich. The only detraction for a fine meal was the outrageous $10 valet when parking on Sunday's is free and plentiful."

  • "It was our anniversary and they made it special. Jerry our waiter was great. Was very attentive without hovering. We split an appetizer, prime rib and asparagus. It was excellent. No charge for splitting. Highly recommend. Will most definitely be back. "

  • "Great spot for buiness entertainig... management keeps an eye on things and you are treated first rate... Steak was high grade and prepared well... • "I have eaten at many steakhouses and Three Forks was okay. Service was slow at times and the steak was just okay, when your order prime beef you expect favor and tenderness. But just was not there for me, Ruth's Chris, Morton's, and Fleming's blow this place out the water in terms food quality and service. I just expected a lot more than what I received, I would not eat there again, IMHO. "

  • "Absolutely loved the food but the service this time left us a bit frustrated. It was prior to the rockets playoff game and they were packed but it almost seemed like our waiter was at every other table but ours. He would show up and ask us for our order than say one second and leave off to another table then never return. We were not in any hurry but could not justify 5 stars with service that was not up to par. That being said the rest of the staff were amazing and even brought out a whole new side since one of them spilled a small portion of first side on table. Our issue was only with our waiter who was polite but just not as attentive as usual."

  • "While I could rave over III Forks, the bartender almost caused me to leave. JJ must have been born arrogant or just developed that way. Regardless, after dealing with his pomposity, the experience became what our family has grown accustomed too. Great food, wine and service. I was glad to see that the rest of III Forks knows that all creatures big or small deserve a great experience. JJ was the exception, not the rule."

  • "Service was solid, a bit slow at first, back servers were on it. Food is good, if you don't mind the price tag, not particularly creative for foodie appreciation. It's intensely loud. We went on a Wednesday night, packed, in what is probably considered a quite area along back wall banquettes; still had to borderline yell to talk to my wife. Not going back. The Dallas unit is the same thing as this Houston unit. Pass on it."

  • "Very nice experience and the food, although typical steakhouse fare, was of first quality and extremely well-prepared. Our group had both steak and seafood and no complaints from anyone. Attentive service. Desserts were very tasty but massive. We ordered 2 for our group of 4 people and it was too much. - after a big meal."

They made my daughter feel like a very special young lady as well. In addition, the food was superb! Thanks for making our dining experience so memorable!"

  • "I hosted a dinner party here, that included 10 people. The waiterstaff was very attentive and helpful, including providing recommendations for hors d'overs and our meal. Althoguh we went with a standard Pinot Noir, the wine selection was broad. Everyone in my party enjoyed their meal and desserts."
