III Forks, one of the nation's USDA Prime Steakhouses, is located at the Village Market in Lakeshore East, just north of Millennium Park in beautiful downtown Chicago. This modern restaurant is simply sizzling with style and provides the perfect setting for upscale dining, rooftop lounging, private parties and special events. III Forks is a contemporary evolution of the classic steakhouse featuring USDA Prime Beef, ocean-fresh seafood and locally sourced Midwest fare. Less than half of one percent of all US beef makes the III Forks Prime quality grade. This leads to great steaks that offer abundant marbling, juiciness, tenderness and superior flavor.

III Forks also offers an impressive venue for private affairs. Three private dining rooms will be available for corporate meetings, seated social gatherings and cocktail receptions. The rooftop lounge is also available for private parties of up to 150 guests.

  • "I knew III Forks was going to be pricey going in to the meal. However, I did not expect to receive a $600+ bill for five of us and we only had ONE $48 bottle of wine and the dessert was comped! The "specials" are exceedingly over-priced and absolutely not worth it -- appetizer of one fried lobster tail for $80+?? Ridiculous, I wish I had asked for the price before we ordered it. (The waitstaff did not reveal any of the prices for the specials unless asked) The restaurant space is lovely and the wait staff is good, but with sky-high prices for rather average food, combined with their remote location in Lake Shore East, they will never make it."

  • "We live in the neighborhood and have been here for food and drinks twice before. While their appetizers are always great the steaks are sub par. Disappointed the last 2 times unfortunately. Ordered the Ribeye (med rare) and the 8 oz filet (med rare) with the bleu cheese crown. Ribeye was well done and the filet was well done and missing the bleu cheese crown. We will be back for drinks and apps but probably never for entrees."

  • "My husband and I have frequented the III Forks in Dallas and have loved it every time. The one in Chicago left us a little disappointed. My husband ordered the bone in ribeye done medium. He got served a ribeye that was tough, filled with silver skin and cooked rare. Our waiter wasn't even the one who delivered our food and no one asked us to cut into our meat to make sure it was cooked to our preferred level. We ended up getting a busboy to bring the to be retired. Dessert left me cold. I ordered the creme brûlée and it was served to me stone cold. They just pulled it out of the fridge and slapped it on a plate. On the way out, we asked the valets if they could get us a cab. We were told no and directed to walk til we saw one. Lovely."

  • "While the waitress was a bit of a sales person, she was helpful in selecting some of the items we ordered; our food tasted good but the Lobster mac & cheese was abysmal; don't order this over priced item!!! I felt a bit rushed, as the servers constantly came by looking to remove plates while we were still trying to enjoy our meal. My steak was quite succulent and flavorful, and the chicken we ordered was also juicy and tasty. Side dishes - cream spinach, mash potatoes, cream-style corn - were good but not great! The waitress was also helpful suggesting a half order of onion rings, which was more than enough of an appetizer."

  • "Beautiful night for dinner outside! Planters positioned nicely to separate tables for privacy while still providing a view of the fire pit on one side at the park below on the other side. Our servers were lovely and friendly. The pork chops were great to start but raw towards the bone. We love pork rare but left much of them untouched. (Better than overdone as most restaurants serve) The grouper special was wonderful however quite pricey for grouper. Note to self, check price point on specials of the night. We enjoy dining here and will certainly be back."

  • "The food at III Forks was fabulous, the service hyper attentive-- to the point of being over exuberant, and the setting is spectacular. The disappointment in the meal came at the end when we got the bill and it turned out that the evening special, a lovely grouper dish, had an entree price of $60. That had never been mentioned. Of course we should have asked, but we assumed it was in the ballpark with other expensive entrees that ranged from the $20's to high $30's. We ended up with a $300 bill (before tip) for three people-- with a bottle of wine but without appetizers, side dishes or desert. The hidden pricing marred what was otherwise a wonderful experience."

  • "I truly enjoyed my dinner at III Forks. I was staying at the Fairmont and this gem is located a quick walk way next to Millennium Park. The Service was competent and friendly. There is a good wine list and the food was excellent. I especially enjoyed my appetizer which was fried squash blossoms stuffed with truffled corn served over some micro greens dressed in a hint of flavored oil. When I return to Chicago I will be sure to stop by and eat here again."

  • "We just moved to Chicago and I took my wife here for our 1st Anniversary. We had a drink and the brussel sprouts upstairs before dinner, which were both amazing. We went downstairs for dinner and our food was amazing, but our waitress was awful. She was itching her head and you could see the dander. Every question we asked her about the food (our first time here), she gave an obvious generic answer that didn't offer any insight into the preparation of the food. When my wife asked her about the ribs (we had steak the night before at a wedding), the waitress responded, "I wouldn't get those." Instead of explaining how they were prepared like she asked. We loved the food! But I don't know if we would return because of the service."

  • "It's so rare to find a steakhouse that has it all: perfectly prepared steak, a great wine list, an inviting and elegant environment, and friendly and attentive service. After visiting multiple times, I can add III Forks to my top Chicago dining spots. Not only is the food outstanding, but everyone who works there makes the experience just that much better. It's also a great location -- convenient from anywhere in the Loop or River North but tucked away from hectic Michigan Ave. Every time I've been, it has been full but not obnoxiously crowded like most places in the area. I highly recommend III Forks for special occasions, business dinners, or a date-night."

The tenderloin salad was wilted, overdressed and had little chunks of steak. Our waiter was overly friendly and trying too hard to be our friend/entertainer. The rooftop was very nice."

  • "We decided to head to III Forks for a second time and it did not disappoint. We had the Tuna appetizer and the tomato mozzarella dish for starters. Both were outstanding. Tenderloin tips were perfect and the sea bass was special. Done perfectly, it was fantastic. The restaurant is a hidden gem with a great view and staff. We would highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "We have been here twice before but not for dinner. We thought we would give a neighborhood place a go for our anniversary and booked a table. The waiter seemed tp be multi-tasking to the point of being harried. His jacket was tied together with a string and that kind of set the tone. QWe ordered filets and they arrived isolated/dry on a plate. The meat was done to order and a good cut. We had two sides with a marginal serving of one and an over grilled serving of sprouts (fine for us as we like them that way but a turn off for others we thought). All and all III Forks didn't measure up to other Chicago steak houises which is a shame because the property is well done and a nice add to our neighborhood."

  • "I realize this is a steak place, but wish there were more options for smaller entrees or more appetizers to choose from. Why does EVERYTHING have to be ala carte? Two of my colleagues had the lobster roll and both said they did not feel well after that night. Service was fine, but server was not very knowledgable about wines, but did go and ask someone for what I wanted and the suggestion was good. Patio very lovely."

  • "My husband and I were looking for a nice upscale choice, with an outdoor 'garden' option. We found III Forks and were glad we did. We were greeted by a very friendly staff, promptly waited on at the bar and the great service continued at dinner. Our waiter was phenomenal, offered the best suggestions. The apps and salads were on the small side, but delicious. It was perfect for not filling up before dinner. We had the scallops and would highly recommend. We split the Tomato & Burrata salad. Again, another HIGHLY recommended item as it was just awesome. My husband had the sea bass and I had the veal chop special. Everything was delicious. III Forks is a steakhouse, but we wanted to try something different. We were not disappointed."

  • " I went here for my anniversary back in May and decided to go back. I planned a girls night out with some relatives and we sat outside. It was a beautiful day! We had six pm reservations and found a table right away. The seating outside is first come first serve. The food took forever but it was good. We ordered appetizers: the hummus was excellent, mushrooms were ok and the crab cakes were good. I ordered shrimp. The asparagus was very bland with no seasoning at all. The shrimp was fried a little too hard for me. The bread pudding dessert was delicious. Our waiter Derrick was wonderful! He was very attentive and very knowledgable of the menu choices! I would go back"

  • "Everything that the six of us ordered was very good. Steak with Parmesan crust, scallops (just a little salty but still very good), pork chop (our guest raved about this one) and chicken. And the sides of six cheese mashed potatoes, fingerling potatoes and asparagus were also very good. The kitchen needed a little help getting the items ordered correct, but the waitress stayed on top of it and errors were quickly corrected. The waitress was also very helpful with specific food recomendations and steak cooking level (medium plus is seared on outside, bright pink in center - and that is exactly how it arrived)."

  • "I went to III Forks with my girlfriends. Two of us started in the bar awaiting the rest of our group. Bartender was friendly, expedient, gave sound advice. We were seated promptly (we had reservations although we were a little late) once our group was complete. Bread was very good. Salads were fresh and well put together with flavors that went together well. The ahi tuna app was delicious and generously portioned. The burger was huge and had to be deconstructed to eat. The diner with the burger didn't care for the bun but the burger itself was delicious. Fries very good. Salmon entree was very good (not quite excellent) with a fantastic sauce they called chimichurri. Salmon was paired with a tasty rice. We skipped dessert. Overall very good"

  • "The chief at this restaurant knows what he's doing. The bread freshly baked, the apple walnut salad & vinegar was out of this world. Our highest quality 100% prime steaks were really genuine prime and that taste and meat texture was obvious as you indulged. A little pricey over all but well worth it for a high quality meal and perfectly executed service."
