III Forks, one of the nation's USDA Prime Steakhouses, is located at the Village Market in Lakeshore East, just north of Millennium Park in beautiful downtown Chicago. This modern restaurant is simply sizzling with style and provides the perfect setting for upscale dining, rooftop lounging, private parties and special events. III Forks is a contemporary evolution of the classic steakhouse featuring USDA Prime Beef, ocean-fresh seafood and locally sourced Midwest fare. Less than half of one percent of all US beef makes the III Forks Prime quality grade. This leads to great steaks that offer abundant marbling, juiciness, tenderness and superior flavor.

III Forks also offers an impressive venue for private affairs. Three private dining rooms will be available for corporate meetings, seated social gatherings and cocktail receptions. The rooftop lounge is also available for private parties of up to 150 guests.

Our food and drinks came out properly, he came by to check on us at the right time. He even happily obliged when we asked him to take a picture of us.   • "I made reservations for my wife and I to celebrate our wedding anniversary. From the moment we walked in we where impressed with the decor/ambiance and the service level of everyone. We got a nice table next to the window overlooking a park and high rise condos. Our server Michael was extremely nice and attentive and treated up like we where regulars. My wife and I got the 12 oz Filet Mignon and I topped mine with the Oscar Style (best suggestion from the server). We had their mashed potatoes and cream corn which were divine. We finished our dinner with their bread pudding which was mouth watering. Overall this was a great dinner spot for special occasions or just for a nice romantic weekend dinner. We are definitely coming back!"

  • "In looking at many reviews online, I thought it would be great to take my special someone. In doing so through "Open Table" I specified that I wanted a nice romantic setting as we were celebrating "Sweetest Day". Upon arrival and the hostess checking us in, she gave me a subtle wink and reassured me that a wonderful window seat would be available for us. Our waitress was very bubbly and made the experience enjoyable in selecting dinner and dessert. My Filet Mignon was a bit tougher than I would usually prefer it but still good taste wise. Ambiance was great and the talk amongst others was not at all overwhelming in chatting with my sweetheart at our own table."

Other than that the server was friendly and helpful, service was well paced and drinks were great too. Looking forward to going there in the summer to sit on the roof."

  • "The service, ambience, and food were all amazing. My husband ordered the Bone-in NY Strip, and I had the Bone-in Rib eye with the bleu cheese crown. It was by far the best steak I've ever eaten in my entire life. We also had a couple cocktails and shared the scallops appetizer. It was our anniversary, and the server surprised us with a delicious, moist, 6-layer chocolate cake. If we lived in Chicago, I would find create special occasions so we could return at least once a month."

  • "The food is very flavorful, Starting with the seared scallops with bacon jam (one of my favorite appetizers EVER). The 28 oz. boneless Ribeye with foie gras topping was amazing. The pork chops were so juicy, you almost thought you were eating steak. For desert, the bread pudding was a perfect way to end the meal (it tasted like a warm cinnabon topped with ice cream)and it left a perfect taste on your palette. Lauren was our server and she was very pleasant and attentive. This restaurant is a little off the main drag, but you will not be disappointed."

  • "Every dish was cooked perfectly, delivered hot, and stood out compared to other restaurants. The Buratta and tomato salad with balsamic sounds like something on every restaurants menu these days, but it might have been the best buratta I have ever had. Real tomato's that they grow on the roof. Lobster bisque, again, might be the best I've ever had. Right balance of tomato and cream with an incredible depth of lobster flavor. Steak, and sides spot on. Michael our waiter was old school perfect. Knew every dish and all the wines. The service and quality of a classic steak house with a hip and modern vibe. Outdoor rooftop seating overlooking New East Park. Large inviting bar inside."

  • "First of all, the setting is wonderful. We sat by the windows and felt like we were in a secret city hideaway. Service and food both very good. I had the crabcake appetizer, the shrimp platter and a 6 cheese potato side. My boyfriend had the salad wedge, filet, and we shared the chocolate ganache cake. We left happy and completely stuffed! I would like to go back when it's snowing and sit between the fireplace and the windows."

  • "Spectacular city skyline views at night from rooftop area, which is set up both as a bar and for regular dining. Attractive outdoor spaces with fireplaces and heaters for cool nights. Main courses are high end steakhouse pricey but they also have more reasonable priced items on the bar and appetizer menus. The atmosphere is sophisticated and quiet enough for good conversation."

  • "We came in and got a table on the rooftop. It was not exceptionally busy. Waited extremely long for our entrée...food comes...no utensils. I had to go to the bar and ask for some after waiting a few minutes. Food was cold...fingerling potatoes were very dry and tasteless. Steak had a sauce on top that was less than desirable. After waiting for what seemed like forever...a woman came to our table..We said that we were waiting for our waitress. We didnt even realize she was actually working since she looked like she just came back from working out at a gym. (Neon tank/black tank workout pants). She offered us a comped desert. We declined. All in all not a great experience this time. We probably wont be coming back."

  • "I enjoyed my dinner experience at III Forks. I started with the III Forks Salad which was fresh, crisp, and tasty. For the entree I had the bone-in ribeye. It was mouthwatering! The best rib eye steak I have ever had. They had several topping options on the menu, I had the King's Butter, it was an added bonus! The steak was cooked to perfection and was worth every penny. I ordered the mashed potatoes for the side dish and it was large enough for at least 3 people to share. The flavor was good. I would've preferred garlic mashed potatoes, or a bit more creaminess but it was good and a perfect pairing for the steak. My cocktail was awesome, Pineapple Ginger Smash! It had a real kick to it. I had two of them."

  • "Four of us ate here on a Monday night, a mini-reunion and welcome to the neighborhood get together. We changed tables to find a table conducive to conversation, as the room was rather loud despite many empty tables. Three of us had the smallest Filet Mignon and were favorably impressed with the quality of the beef, which was cooked exactly as each desired. The 4th person had the tenderloin tips and was also pleased. We split two large side orders, roasted mushrooms (good, not great) and 4-cheese potatoes (yummy), and two desserts: fabulous bread pudding and a delicious chocolate cake. With 3 glasses of house wines and a beer, the bill came to over $220, plus tip. Seems a bit pricey, but for a special occasion, it was a good value."

  • "The food is just okay and therefore way overpriced. The restaurant facility is great with high-end decor and available roof top dining in a trendy area of Chicago. The prices are sky-high and but the food was surprisingly mediocre - a disappointment. They do have a great wine list though. I would return - for the atmosphere, the wine list, and the okay food."

  • "The general manager & head chief know what they're doing here, better then any other restaurant in Chicago. The steak is beyond prime and super prime, it melts with flavor in your mouth. The potatoes are perfect. All the waiters and table staff go out of their way to assure each customer's dining experience is flawless. Although a little pricey, it's nice to know one gets what you pay for and more. This restaurant's general manager delivers every time."

The location (adjacent a gem of a small family park surrounded by iconic archtecture), was matched by the range of beef offerings and the culinary expertise in their preparation and presentation - all topped off by a thoughtful and non-intrusive service."

  • "I knew III Forks was going to be pricey going in to the meal. However, I did not expect to receive a $600+ bill for five of us and we only had ONE $48 bottle of wine and the dessert was comped! The "specials" are exceedingly over-priced and absolutely not worth it -- appetizer of one fried lobster tail for $80+?? Ridiculous, I wish I had asked for the price before we ordered it. (The waitstaff did not reveal any of the prices for the specials unless asked) The restaurant space is lovely and the wait staff is good, but with sky-high prices for rather average food, combined with their remote location in Lake Shore East, they will never make it."

  • "We live in the neighborhood and have been here for food and drinks twice before. While their appetizers are always great the steaks are sub par. Disappointed the last 2 times unfortunately. Ordered the Ribeye (med rare) and the 8 oz filet (med rare) with the bleu cheese crown. Ribeye was well done and the filet was well done and missing the bleu cheese crown. We will be back for drinks and apps but probably never for entrees."
