III Forks, one of the nation's USDA Prime Steakhouses, is located at the Village Market in Lakeshore East, just north of Millennium Park in beautiful downtown Chicago. This modern restaurant is simply sizzling with style and provides the perfect setting for upscale dining, rooftop lounging, private parties and special events. III Forks is a contemporary evolution of the classic steakhouse featuring USDA Prime Beef, ocean-fresh seafood and locally sourced Midwest fare. Less than half of one percent of all US beef makes the III Forks Prime quality grade. This leads to great steaks that offer abundant marbling, juiciness, tenderness and superior flavor.

III Forks also offers an impressive venue for private affairs. Three private dining rooms will be available for corporate meetings, seated social gatherings and cocktail receptions. The rooftop lounge is also available for private parties of up to 150 guests.

  • "Food is great. The sweet potato hash is very delicious. A hidden gem that's easy to miss if you're not looking for it. The roof top cocktail lounge is great spot with lots of energy. I think they under pour on the glasses of wine...other than that the staff was a pleasure."

  • "My husband and I were looking for a nice upscale choice, with an outdoor 'garden' option. We found III Forks and were glad we did. We were greeted by a very friendly staff, promptly waited on at the bar and the great service continued at dinner. Our waiter was phenomenal, offered the best suggestions. The apps and salads were on the small side, but delicious. It was perfect for not filling up before dinner. We had the scallops and would highly recommend. We split the Tomato & Burrata salad. Again, another HIGHLY recommended item as it was just awesome. My husband had the sea bass and I had the veal chop special. Everything was delicious. III Forks is a steakhouse, but we wanted to try something different. We were not disappointed."

  • " I went here for my anniversary back in May and decided to go back. I planned a girls night out with some relatives and we sat outside. It was a beautiful day! We had six pm reservations and found a table right away. The seating outside is first come first serve. The food took forever but it was good. We ordered appetizers: the hummus was excellent, mushrooms were ok and the crab cakes were good. I ordered shrimp. The asparagus was very bland with no seasoning at all. The shrimp was fried a little too hard for me. The bread pudding dessert was delicious. Our waiter Derrick was wonderful! He was very attentive and very knowledgable of the menu choices! I would go back"

  • "Everything that the six of us ordered was very good. Steak with Parmesan crust, scallops (just a little salty but still very good), pork chop (our guest raved about this one) and chicken. And the sides of six cheese mashed potatoes, fingerling potatoes and asparagus were also very good. The kitchen needed a little help getting the items ordered correct, but the waitress stayed on top of it and errors were quickly corrected. The waitress was also very helpful with specific food recomendations and steak cooking level (medium plus is seared on outside, bright pink in center - and that is exactly how it arrived)."

  • "I went to III Forks with my girlfriends. Two of us started in the bar awaiting the rest of our group. Bartender was friendly, expedient, gave sound advice. We were seated promptly (we had reservations although we were a little late) once our group was complete. Bread was very good. Salads were fresh and well put together with flavors that went together well. The ahi tuna app was delicious and generously portioned. The burger was huge and had to be deconstructed to eat. The diner with the burger didn't care for the bun but the burger itself was delicious. Fries very good. Salmon entree was very good (not quite excellent) with a fantastic sauce they called chimichurri. Salmon was paired with a tasty rice. We skipped dessert. Overall very good"

  • "The chief at this restaurant knows what he's doing. The bread freshly baked, the apple walnut salad & vinegar was out of this world. Our highest quality 100% prime steaks were really genuine prime and that taste and meat texture was obvious as you indulged. A little pricey over all but well worth it for a high quality meal and perfectly executed service."

  • "Our server was terrible - we felt forgotten 1/2 way through our dinner - he didn't offer any drink specials or app specials - we had to hear them from the next table, as that server was giving it to those customers. Our reservation was early 6 PM, restaurant was dead. Server never did offer dessert. When we left, we told the hostess who didn't seem too concerned. While leaving - it was pouring down rain - I asked to borrow an umbrella to run out to taxi - they said they didn't have any - they should consider having one, would be good for customer service."

The steak was cooked perfectly, even though the waitress said that they usually undercook vs. peoples' expectations. I wouldn't say there was anything particularly distinctive about III Forks that sets it apart from the many other high end steakhouse options."

The view of the park was perfect, the food was delish and our service was perfect. We had Zachariah as our waiter and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect evening because of his friendliness and superb service! We can't wait to come back again and sit on the rooftop!"

  • "This was our first visit -- wanted to sit outside on their beautiful patio. Nice quiet patio overlooking a park. Service was very spotty and the prices were outrageous! Sorry if I'm going to pay those kind of prices, I expect a notch above service! Will not be going back! Ended up just getting a few appetizers. Food was good, but definitely not worth the price!"

  • "The first time we visited is was very good. That's why we went back. Tonight my wife and I dined there again. It was dreadful. The noise was awful; you had to shout to have any conversation, and because everyone was doing this the level of shouting just built and built! Even when having a row, my wife and I don't shout at each other from 3 feet! We moved two times, and the third location was a little better. Most of the food was OK, but only OK. I ordered an Irish coffee, but no one there knew how to make it! I had had it on our first visit, but it must have been the Irish coffee man's night off tonight. If you hit a good night this restaurant is great, but we will not be risking it again."

  • "I took my wife here for our four anniversary andshe loved it. She had the tenderloin tips and I had the roasted chicken, both pf which came with mashed potatoes, and we shared the sautéed spinach. Everything was great! I feel like we had the best table in the building and from the look of it there wasn't a bad seat in the place. We had two very knowledgeable and friendly servers. We will definitely be going back soon. P.s the bread pudding was an excellent way to end the night."

  • "My husband and I went there on our one year wedding anniversary. He grew up in the area, but I had never been to Chicago. It was fantastic! Our waitress was friendly, fun and very knowledgeable. The food was amazing. We had the onion rings, which are the biggest that I have ever seen, but also the best and a seafood sampler that was excellent to start. The steak was perfect and the sides were just right. The lobster mac and cheese was fabulous. Everything was very filling. I loved the setting and the view. It was the perfect place to spend our anniversary. I highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "We ordered the bone in fillet and had to send it back to the kitchen. The temp on the steaks was wrong they were ordered medium rare and medium rare+. They came out blue, cold in the middle and barely seared. The potatoes came out with melted cheese on top and cold potatoes underneath. For the cost $58 a steak I would never go back. Chicago has way too many good steak houses to waste your money here!!!!!"

  • "We anticipated a great steak dinner and a lovely ambience. Neither happened. The restaurant was nicely appointed with welcoming people ... But the kitchen and the wait staff had "communication problems" which resulted in 45 minutes between our appetizer (seared scallops that arrived almost cold) and our salad. The steak was not a rich taste. Not at all what we expected for this highly rated restaurant. So sad. "

  • "The service POOR, no training at all! Couldn't make a Cosmo that even resembled a Cosmo. For such a high priced restaurant it was so subpar. The special steak, a bone in filet was $95.00, shocking sticker price when got the check!! The worst thing of all that $95.00 steak came to table raw, ordered medium rare! The server never returned to table when food arrived to check on food! If you can't cook a $95 steak to perfection you have no business cooking at all!"

  • "Other than the difficulty in reaching this place either by foot or by car, this place continues to impress. The food, drink, and service are impeccable. If you're lucky enough to get a room along the window as we did, you can enjoy a great view of the secluded Lakeshore East Park. Our business dinner fit in nicely with other business diners, what appeared to be a ladies night out, and a few families. Put this steak on your top list too."

  • "We went on Mother's Day for the first time and I was surprised when they had a special menu and really no options for kids, except smaller versions of the adult special menu. I was also surprised that we could not order from the regular menu. If you are going to be open for Mother's Day there is a pretty good chance that people are going to bring their children, you should offer options for them. Additionally, if you are not going have your regular menu you should advertise that on Open Table so that people are not surprised when they arrive."

  • "I made a RSVP for husbands 60 birthday. We had our two married children and spouses with us, we were given a private room, all glass walls - Amazing - so the noise was not!! Our experience was wonderful, food over the top, service - Corrine is the best server we have ever had, and we go out a lot. Drinks were great, she allowed us to have a 3 hour experience, and brought a tray of dessert varieties for us all sample. with birthday candles. My husband traveled a lot to Austin and that ws how we found out about III Forks. This is very high end, and would recommend it for special occasions. It is expense, but worth every penny - or should I say dollar!! "

  • "This place was ok, but I've been to plenty of steak places in Chicago that are better. The restaurant is very nice inside and has a great view of the park. Our waitress was absolutely fantastic, but the person that brought the food to the table was terrible (not our waitress). We ordered 2 side dishes to share. He served us one, but not the other. The dish he did serve was the asparagus. He attempted to serve it using 2 forks in one hand. He literally was spilling asparagus all over. After getting only 3 pieces on each of our plates, he walked away without picking up the asparagus that fell on the floor by our feet. The meat was a touch over cooked. I ordered by steak medium, but got medium well. It was ok, but othing special. "

  • "Enjoyed a very enjoyable dinner on Thursday Evening. The bone in filet was outstanding and added the Oscar topping to it. Outstanding! The sweet potatoes hash as a side were awesome. I wasn't rolled over by the six cheese potatoes but highly recommend the hash. Deep Fried Lobster appitizer was really good along with the Ahi and Scallops. Great meals and I would recommend III Forks for dinner. "

  • "We were in two nights in a row with different guests each night. The first night, one of our guests ordered her steak Cooked M and it was definitely MR to R. We chose not to tell server because waiting for another steak to be cooked properly creates an awkward meal for all as one person is not eating with everyone else. Also they were out of 3 of our first choices of red wine and the 10 yr port afterwards. We thought it was very odd for a steakhouse to run out of Port. "
