A word from III Forks - Chicago
III Forks, one of the nation's USDA Prime Steakhouses, is located at the Village Market in Lakeshore East, just north of Millennium Park in beautiful downtown Chicago. This modern restaurant is simply sizzling with style and provides the perfect setting for upscale dining, rooftop lounging, private parties and special events. III Forks is a contemporary evolution of the classic steakhouse featuring USDA Prime Beef, ocean-fresh seafood and locally sourced Midwest fare. Less than half of one percent of all US beef makes the III Forks Prime quality grade. This leads to great steaks that offer abundant marbling, juiciness, tenderness and superior flavor.

III Forks also offers an impressive venue for private affairs. Three private dining rooms will be available for corporate meetings, seated social gatherings and cocktail receptions. The rooftop lounge is also available for private parties of up to 150 guests.

  • "The service was good - the food was just ok - we were going to a 8pm show so we had split a 8oz filet the when bring the filet out it was paper thin and the waiter talked about putting a topping and at the time we order we all forgot to order a topping for the filet. the filet by had no flavor at all. We eat at Gibson with no toppings and the filets there are incredible. The scallops were average - the dessert was great. Good cocktails."

  • "I enjoyed Iii Forks. My boyfriend and I were seated by the windows facing Benton Place and enjoyed that view of the cityscape. There were also nice table by the fireplace that looked cozy. We enjoyed the seafood platter and the lobster bisque for our appetizer. The fresh bread delivered in time with the appetizers was a nice touch and just perfect. While we ate our meals, 2-3 managers and servers came by to ask us about the meal. We felt very well taken care of. The filet mignon with the parmesan crust was tasty but next time we'd probably do prime steak. I would return for lunch or dinner when it's warmer to enjoy their rooftop."

A special thank you to Shawn their Events Coordinator that had the private room setup and did an excellent job of coordinate all aspects of the evening with me to make it excellent. Thanks, David"

  • "My significant other and I decided to have Sunday dinner at a place neither one of us had been. He's a true steak eater so I thought this place would be perfect. We both enjoyed our meals. We both ordered the III Forks Salad which was very fresh and had a taste of its own. I went out on a limb and decided to get steak as well, it was very juicy and tender even the next day. I had mashed potatoes on the side and he ordered a side of asparagus that both of us could eat. Our server was very informative and kind and explained the menu to the "T". Ambiance was excellent with the beautiful fireplace burning. I will definitely return."

  • "Went to III Forks to celebrate a new job as well as running in first Shamrock Shuffle and they did a great job overall as the staff is friendly, professional and attentive. The view is spectacular as they have gorgeous floor to ceiling windows that provide a fabulous view of the local skyline so high marks there. The food was what you would expect from a steakhouse and we all enjoyed our cuts of beef and the sides were wonderful. I noted in the reservation that one of our group had recently gotten a new job so completely unprompted the waiter brought a nice piece of cake with a candle for us to share. It is little touches like that which stick out and we will certainly be back."

  • "This was my first time, and I had a gift certificate. Fabulous splurge, great food, yummy specialty drinks, and the best service. They help you with your coat, they call you the next day to see how your experience was. They have a lovely fireplace, and a cool glass room for groups. It's fancy, not cheap, totally worth."

  • "The food was very well presented, pricing was in line with other well known steak houses here in Chicago. The diffidence was the more modern atmosphere and layout, not the cramped old boys type facility. You did not feel your space was impeded on by other tables, bar was clean and easy top navigate, you did not have to push your way through to find space. Service was excellent, waiter was knowledgeable and gave excellent advice. Food was excellent, sides and salad were smaller then expected, but again less sometimes is better than being over served."

  • "We celebrated three birthdays here with friends and all ordered steak. Mine was the NY pepper strip which wasn't especially to my taste due mainly to the sauce and the meat was more fatty than I'm accustomed to, but the other three were filet mignon and were excellent. Next time I come I may just have the steak au natural. The sides and salads were very good and our wine selection excellent. The restaurant management treated our table to two complimentary desserts--bread pudding and chocolate layered cake. This was a surprise treat, not expected but outstandingly delicious and very kind of them. III Forks is set in the Lakeshore East community and the views of the city skyline and park are beautiful and well worth coming out of your way."

  • "What a great find this restaurant was! Great ambience, fabulous view, terrific service and fantastic food. I will definitely be back! John, our waiter, was phenomenal. He didn't miss a beat. Ask for his chocolate cherry martini! Getting a cab back to our hotel was easy too."

  • "Service was very slow, the waitress forgot some of the order waited forever my drinks even though it was ordered first. The waitress didn't even have the courtesy to tell us that one of the drinks we ordered was unavailable until we ask about it minutes later. The bartender was unfriendly and rushed"

  • "I do not see how this restaurant is in business. The food is ok, at the prices it should be, but all prices are about 20-25 percent over market."

  • "I booked III Forks in order to try another one of the great steak houses in Chicago. The food, especially the steak is superb and matched only by comparable high-priced steak houses in Chicago. Our service was impeccable and the decor is on-point with a modern, un-stuffy chop house. My only drawback is that I went for a business dinner and expected, more of a gentlemen's steak house, but what it felt like was more romantic than expected. Granted, there is a fine line between the two sometimes, but I'm not sure I would go back for a business dinner, unless in a larger group. I, would however, take a date there for a special occasion. Also, the location is extremely difficult to get to and very few taxis know where it is located."

  • "The service and staff was great. The food was good, but for the price it should have been better. My ribeye wasn't didn't have much marble to it and a fair amount of fat. Not to mention I ordered med-rare and it came out cool in the center. The Sea bass was good. I was just disappointed in the quality and portion of food for the price tag."

  • "I entertained some business contacts at III Forks. It was a snowy Monday and the restaurant was very slow. The service was fine, but the meal was not good. My guest wanted a New York strip but they were out and they were also out of two other types of steak. The tomatoes were overly ripe and not firm, the steaks were over cooked, and the asparagus was tough and stringy. I have eaten at III Forks before and had a wonderful meal, but this was not their night."

  • "I went here for Valentines day for dinner and maybe that is why the service was not great. There were no decorations or sweet music to even remotely say that it was Valentines day or a special occasion. The server did not say anything about the occasion, only put a menu in front of me and my boyfriend that had the valentines day menu on it. I ordered a petite filet mignon, and my boyfriend ordered a regular portion of the same thing and we both stated we wanted it cooked medium well. However, when I got my steak it was totally burned, while my boyfriends was cooked right. They did not have any special deserts in honor of valentines day either. Overall, it was my first time going to III Forks and my last time."

  • "Very romantic Setting. Close to others in dining area but still felt like private dining. Food was excellent and did not take long to prepare. The only negative was that our seat was close by the door and we received cold drafts when people were coming and going."

  • "We had a great experience and have always had a good time at III Forks. I should have sent my steak back but we were short on time. My medium rare was still cold on the inside and it had a fatty piece in the middle (Filet). The salads are very small for a lot of money but overall we still really enjoyed it."

  • "Great once we found it. We went before a show and parked at Wabash and Randolph and walked. The walk was longer than expected. Location is 1 block northwest the BCBS building. We all had great steaks and sides. Desserts were good to share."

  • "We went to III Forks after the theatre and were extremely pleased with the restaurant. The food, service, ambiance was outstanding. Steaks were done perfectly, scallops with bacon jam was to die for! The 6 cheese baked potato was awesome. Great restaurant for a special occasion and wonderful time."

  • "Four individuals who eat out twice a week (at least) Two ordered sea bass- the middle was the consistency of pudding and had to be sent back for a bit more cooking. Once cooked it was okay. One ordered pork chop which was RAW. Sent back and cooked. One ordered octopus which was burned. Wow, all four dinners were a disaster with no apologies from the Chef. We've tried the Steak on another occasion and it was mediocre. No more chances."

  • "My wife and I were in Chicago visiting family. We had an evening to ourselves and wanted a restaurant close to where we were staying. We picked the right place. We selected the restaurant week menu. Great choice."

  • "My husband and I went for restaurant week but we will return!! The scallop appetizer tasted just like the scallops you get in the northeast not the scallops usually served in Chicago. The filets were sublime and perfectly cooked, thanks to a perfect discription by our waitress. The asparagus were perfect and the order could easily serve 2. IIIFORKS is a contemporary wonderful place to DINE,"
