Our waiter, Shane, gave us wonderful recommendations an the evening was
one to remember. I had the bacon wrapped scallops, wedge salad and the bone in
ribeye. Everyone thought their food was delicious. We will

Waiters very attentive, but not intrsive; very knowledgable. Food was presented beautifully, and cooked perfectly. Bar could be somewhat romantic if you need a upscale place to take your date, and fun if you want to take a few friends as well. The Jazz band was excellent. This is now my favorite steakhouse in Austin (Sea bass was superb as well.)4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMI took a friend for her birthday.I took a friend for her birthday. It was a nice evening. The only complaint I would have is that we were left looong periods of time between the server coming back to our table. She was really nice and all the servers with water and packaging our food was nice also. The baileys for the birthday toast was an exceptional and unexpected touch we really enjoyed. Also comping her bday dessert was very thoughtful. I did learn that well done at III Forks is WELL done on the bone in steak. It was delicious but I should have ordered it medium well.

Three in my party chose the filet (all were marvelous and cooked perfectly to order). I chose the Chilean Sea Bass - it was the largest portion of fish I have ever been served! Moist and so delicious. The asparagus side, the sauteed spinach and the mushrooms rounded out the meal to perfection. The interior is a little dark for my liking. We ate quite early, so only one other table when we arrived. By the time our dinner was complete, there were several tables full - many were larger parties. The waiter, Tommy, was extremely knowledgeable of the menu items and the wine. Valet parking was great didn't have to search for a spot to park, just went right to the door. The staff is excellent, and they are special at finding the perfect wine, even when you are on a budget. This restaurant is perfectly priced for the quality you get. This particular night, I had Wedge Salad, and shared a filet mignon, which came with several vegetables, plus an additional order of asparagus, which we ordered as a side. The Wedge would have been enough for me; very generous serving of well-crisped lettuce, with a huge slice of tomato steak, and generous amounts of cheese in the dressing.
