Icon Grillthe fish dishes, both thethe fish dishes, both the halibut and sole, were wonderful, loved the mashed potatoes with the corn and of course the signature hot fudge sundae for dessert (for 5) was great...5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was goodOur group thoroughly enjoyed their food. The only problem we had was a waiter spilled cheese sauce all over one of our jackets. However he was very polite and quickly took it to the back to be cleaned. After he brought back his jacket, he gave him a card for the dry cleaning. It was handled very well, and everyone left the restaurant happy. A+ for Service5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous all the way aroundGREAT food, GREAT service, GREAT atmosphere!! The Icon is the trifecta of YUMMINESS!! This is a Seattle mus!5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat BrunchDiscovered this gem earlier this year. I have been back several times for lunch and dinner and am always happy with the service. I decided to give their brunch a try on Mother's Day with my visiting sister and her husband. I was super excited to see they had GF (gluten free) options for my husband--which is always a challenge for us. The service was good/usual and the food was amazing. Really love this place. Parking can be a challenge/expensive if you're not familiar with downtown but that's par for the course for any restaurant in a busy downtown area like ours here in Seattle. This has become a favorite restaurant of mine.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent spins on classic AmericanThis was our second time to icon, and I can say that we will be coming back again. The service is friendly, the decor is tasteful and original, and the dishes are both memorable and delicious. On my first visit I had the Hog-Wild Mac'nCheese, one of three variants on Mac 'n Cheese on their menu, and this time I had the Baja tacos. Each dish managed to stay true to the original American style, but added a surprising depth of flavor that is going to keep me coming back for more.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMSatisfying Home CookingSet in a wonderful location - within walking distance of major hotels including Hotel Max, this lovely restaurant boasts home cooking with a special flare. First off - the macaroni and cheese is to die for. Everyone needs to try this. We also had the pulled pork sliders which were also delicious.
The blown glass is a nice touch, but we felt they could have gone a bit more modern with the tables and other decor as opposed to small cottage-esque.
The hostess was lovely and held the door for us on the way out. The server allowed our small table to be overcrowded with dishes for a little longer than necessary, but other than that, it's a wonderful place to dine.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMJust a really nice placeDon't let the outside fool you, the Icon Grill is a really nice place to eat. With a menu that ranges from comfort food (4 cheese macaroni and fried chicken) to steaks and seafood, there is something for everyone. When we drive into Seattle for a special occasion, the Icon Grill is always on my list of reliably good restaurants.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went to a concert at theWe went to a concert at the Jazz Ally and this was a great place to go to first. But still love going to this place.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is a keeper....Thoroughly enjoyed our meal at this atmospheric restaurant. Delightful, vintage-looking ambience; excellent service. The menu was varied but not overwhelming. My asparagus salad was tasty and filling, the butternut squash soup flavorful and comforting. My husband had the halibut wrapped in potato--the fish was great, but he thought the potato was too al dente. Would come here again when I make it back to town, maybe for the dessert happy hour from 9-midnight.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMA very pleasant evening wasA very pleasant evening was spent at The Icon Grill. We were all happy with our food choices- next time, I'm getting the mini Icon Ice Cream Sundae! was hoping to try the infamous mac and cheese but it wasn't a part of the Prix Fixe Menu... guess we'll need to go back!4/11/2013 12:00:00 AMCelebrating an Anniversary.Excellent dinning experience, Aprils menu is fantastic especially the lamb. My wife and I are from Utah and discovered the Icon Grill
through a city tour last year. I believe the name of the tour was "Savour Seattle". My wife and I celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary with our son and had a wonderful experience. Thank you to the owners for acknowledging our anniversary as well the great food and wine we enjoyed.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMAbsolutely enjoyed the food--Absolutely enjoyed the food-- and creme brûlée is to die for. Waiter was super friendly and efficient.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMJust an Amazing dining experienceJust an Amazing dining experience every time I go.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMMy only criticism was thatMy only criticism was that our waitress served us in a military manner. I appreciated her knowledge, but I don't think she smiled once. I didn't like my cocktail, but my friend did. When the waitress came to ask if my friend wanted another drink, she said no and told her she was going to drink mine. Then my friend asked me if I wanted another drink, and the waitress didn't say anything. She made me feel bad for not liking my beverage. Then we got dessert drinks at the end of the night. My friend asked for the salted caramel rim that was suggested on the menu. I asked for the same drink without the salted caramel rim. The waitress came with our drinks and said sorry he didn't put the salted caramel on either, and then she just left.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMHave been there twice withinHave been there twice within the past two week. Had fish tacos with shrimp one time and bbq chicken salad the other. Both very nice fresh, light lunch. One was a birthday celebration and even though we declined dessert they still brought a little celebratory mini cake with ice cream, fudge sauce, and a candle. Very thoughtful.3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMSo many unique choices itSo many unique choices it was hard to select. The staff was friendly and helpful.
