Our waitress was not so good.
We had a group of six, so the gratuity was added in the bill automatically. I only hope the chef received the entire tip and not our waitress. I asked multiple times for a fork and did not get one until the chef found a different server to get us some. Our chef also continued to fill our water. Our waitress brought our salads and then disappeared until she brought dessert and of course the bill. The upstairs level is a great place to sit, much more quiet and further from the bar which can be quite packed. Our chef was excellent - personable, funny, and kept us entertained through the entire service. I have had chefs at Benihana's that do a few tricks and then fizzle out, but you won't see that at Ichiban. It is definitely a great place for large groups unless you are comfortable sitting at a table with strangers. The food was delicious and the prices fit the quality. and needed a local place to spend a romantic dinner. I sent a request through OpenTable
and let them know we'd be celebrating our special date with them. When we entered the restaurant,
we were greeted by the waitstaff who congratulated us and led us over to our own table!
I had heard that only larger groups would get that experience, but we had our own personal
chef (Alex) who was funny, engaging, and made us a delicious dinner. I was very impressed and

The atmosphere is exciting and entertaining, you can feel the good time that everyone in the place is having and it rubs off. The food was yummy as expected and fairly priced. I tried the chicken liver appetizer, who knew I liked chicken liver!
