Diner Reviews
  • "I went here with a decent sized group. The outdoor patio was very nice, with a cool fountain. Service was great and accommodating, getting a lot of billing stuff taken care of up front. They had a nice wine selection, and a good variety of wine flights. The food was pretty good, though we found that "small plates" were actually quite large, filling you up more than you'd really want, if you were hoping to try various plates. All of the food was excellent - except for the mussels and a dessert. The mussels were very large, kind of rubbery and overly fishy. Nobody cared for them at the table. The dessert seemed to have too much gelatin or something in it - it was almost hard and rubbery as well."

  • "The food was nothing to get excited about. There were 3 of us dining that all like interesting international food, and none of the dishes blew us away. We originally went for restaurant week but decided to do tapas instead, so this review is based on there normal everyday menu. Our server was great and was knowledgable about all the dishes."

  • "The wine flights and food assortment were awesome. The staff was attentive; with several people waiting on us and each as personable as the next."

  • "A little pricey, but very good. Interesting and different menu."

  • "Visited during restaurant week. Portion sizes for special were exceedingly small. They offer and push the wine flights, but prices were really high - about $15 to $25 for 8 oz of wine. Food was good, was not great. Presentation not a focus. Service was a bit too attentive - constantly at our table, more conversation than appropriate (she didn't seem to recognize we were there to spend time with each other, not her.) The dining experience didn't stand up to the total bill - for example, pretty sure my soup was served with the same Ikea spoon (not a soup spoon) that I bought for my first apartment in 1991. Considering the restaurant competition in Pittsburgh, I don't think we'll be back."

  • "We've been to this restaurant many times before, this time the menu was limited and the portions were much smaller for the same price. We were not pleased with this experience."

  • "Offerings were delicious and liked the variety. Server was enthusiatic and prompt"

  • "The service was excellent - very attentive and professional. The food was very good but the menu seems more limited than the last time I was there. The covered patio is quite pleasant."

  • "It is a great place for a bite to eat and a couple drinks. The portions are small as to expect with a tapas restaurant."

  • "What a wonderful restaurant - great food and superior service. After a recent matinee, we enjoyed an early dinner at Ibiza, feasting on grilled shrimp, a mixed meat platter.Only dissappointment was that they reworked the menu, reducing the number of tapas available. If you want Spanish food in Pittsburgh, Ibiza and its full menu sister, Mallorca, next door will not disappoint."

  • "I keep coming back to Ibiza because I love the atmosphere and food. If you want gray tapas this is the best place in the south side to get it."

  • "I absolutely love this place!! The food and service was outstanding!! We sat in the garden area next to the waterfall. Beautiful! I cannot stop talking about how much fun we had. I plan to go back my next trip to Pittsburgh. Muchas gracias!"

  • "My first experience at Ibiza with my husband was fabulous. Our waitress was great and helpful. The food was delicious and the tapas came out in rounds so that we did not have too much on our table at once. We were so excited to come back. Our second experience was this past weekend with another couple. We were told before being seated that transitions were being made as the restaurant had a new chef and the menu was changing. It kind of felt like being told "Sorry" in advance for any poor experience. BIG difference from the first experience...food was nothing to rave about this time (other than the sangrias were still delicious) and everything was served at once (overwhelming). The cost of dinner was not worth it this time around."

  • "Service was great, food was good although I would not call it great because they forgot half our order and when it arrived it was only warm and not hot. The wine list is great, especially the wine flights. I felt everything was a few dollars more than it should have been."

  • "The food, service, and atmosphere were spot on. Ask for Ashely to be your server! Love ordering tapas while drinking the sangria!"

  • "There is a new chef in the kitchen. What a difference. They are somewhat retooling the menu, at least that's what we were told. We had a great dinner. We stick with the fish/ seafood items. Best anchovies I have ever had...ethereal. Didn't even resemble the little fishies in the can or jar. The sardines are usually great too, but you may have to ask for them. If you haven't been there for a while, go back. If you haven't been there yet...try it! They do have valet parking, or their own lot if it is a slower night."

  • "We do tapas quite frequently so we know the drill. The food comes out quickly and to share...well all the food came out at once with no explanation to each dish. The sangria was sub par. We would not go back no recommend."

  • "Great place for happy hour with friends. Inexpensive martini's, excellent sangria, delicious small plates."

  • "The outdoor courtyard is lovely with water feature and candles. A large awning spanning the area allows for an outdoor experience regardless of the weather."
    Dined on 6/21/2014
  • "The tapas menu seemed to be lacking, which would have been fine if the food was good. Unfortunately the food was lacking as well. You can taste fresh and that taste was definitely lacking here...the food was bland, lacking true flavors and the presentation was non existent. If you had told me everything we ordered was prepared during the week leading up to us eating there, I would have believed it."

  • "My husband and I have been here many times and always enjoy it. We went for our 5 - year wedding anniversary. The whole time I felt the waitress was trying to rush us. We wanted to have a leisurely, romantic dinner and she had us in and out in under 45 minutes. She picked up my plate of food before I was even finished and I had to ask her to leave it! We ordered dessert and I thought it might be on the house, or have "Happy Anniversary" on it or SOMETHING, but there was nothing. They did absolutely nothing special for our anniversary. I will probably be back because the food is so good (mushroom risotto great and they made us special vegan vegetables) but not for a special occasion."

  • "We had fresh sardines, stuffed banana peppers, an artichoke dish, and gazpacho. All very good, especially the sardines."
    Dined on 6/20/2014
  • "The food was excellent, though everyone at our table was surprised that our soup, salad, and hot small plate entrees were all served at the same time."
    Dined on 6/20/2014
  • "The tapas that we ordered were pricey (but good) and enough to share except one: the medallions of filet mignon (which amounted to three bites and didn't look like filet mignon). We complained to our waiter, but he said the manager did not want to do anything about it. The serving was not worth the $15 that we paid for it."

  • "We enjoyed the food and wine very much. Service was fantastic..."

  • "The food was great but the service was terrible. The server had zero enthusiasm. To the point it felt like she really didn't want to serve my gf and I. She never came over to see if we needed anything and when we did grab her attention it felt as if we were bothering her. At any rate the food and atmosphere were great. We had fun despite the poor service and attitude. Oh and another server did check on us and she was much more upbeat and pleasant. Lastly, I tipped our origional server 22% and she didn't bother to say thank you."

  • "Not as many tapas as Ibiza used to have and although the food was good, not outstanding. "
    Dined on 6/7/2014
  • "The staff was friendly and helpful, right from the hostess who seated us to the waitress that took care of us. They have a nice selection of hot and cold taps, both in the meat and fish categories. Everything we ordered was delicious and the speed of service was excellent, although the restaurant was no particularly crowded this evening. A chocolate mousse with lighted candle was provided unsolicited for the birthday girl. This got rave reviews not only for the lucky one in our party, but a departing patron from another table who also really enjoyed the mousse. So if you like mousse, I suggest pacing yourself through the many tempting tapas present on the menu to make sure you have room for it!"

  • "Another atypical sunny day in the burgh always draws a crowd to the south side. My wife and I were looking for some light fare when tapas came to mind. This is a great place for enjoying good cuisine in a quaint atmosphere. The lamb was delicious as was everything else we ordered. The only thing that beat the food was the service. Well staffed, we didn't wait long for our delicacies. We will return for the great food and another glass of the Spanish wine"

  • "This was my first time dining at Ibiza. All food was fabulous including drinks and even the table bread. The atmosphere was very unique and charming. Service didn't quite measure up, though. When our waiter couldn't answer a basic question about the menu, he admitted immediately that it was his first night. I understand that a brand new waiter might be clueless about the menu, but he didn't even get our water order right. He was so nervous that he seemed like it was the first time he had ever waited tables at all. The restaurant should have had partnered him a more experienced waiter which isn't unreasonable given it was still early and the place wasn't close to filled up yet. It was very frustrating. Luckily we weren't in a rush."

  • "The menu was small and choices weren't anything special. I've been here several times and it seems to be getting tired and old. It should be new and trendy with some unique cultural dishes."

  • "The food was tasty and quick to come out. Being able to choose multiple tapas gives you an opportunity to try many different items. Our favorite was the stuffed hot pepper with veal and marinara. The ONLY hiccup was not having cucumber for the martini we had ordered. I really enjoy the concept of the menu. Our server Ashley was absolutely wonderful! She made a great recommendationand took excellent care of us. Ashley made the experience even more worth it. We will most certainly return for the food, martinis, and service from Ashley! "

  • "We like Ibiza for the pared down menu. A lot of Tapas places offer 9 million items. It's very hard to choose a few and the quality is watered down because of the quantity. While Ibiza's menu has less choices the variety is still outstanding and the chefs can concentrate on doing fewer things quite well."

  • "I've been to many tapas restaurants over the years. This was the least Spanish of them all. Where's the bread with garlic olive oil, tomato, and Manchego? Where's the tortilla? Jamon? All the delicious seafood possibilities? How about some Spanish chorizo? If I want to eat pot stickers, I'll go to a Chinese restaurant, thank you. "

  • "One of my favorite restaurants; def my fav in Southside & one of the only places to get good food in Pittsburgh after 10pm!! Splurge on a wine flight & get the chocolate mousse for dessert!!"

  • "They have an extensive wine list, as the name of the restaurant suggests. Only ordered wine and tapas, but left very much satisfied. Everything was absolutely delicious. The back patio area was closed in but very romantic and ambient with tasteful fire pillars for warmth and a gorgeous waterfall in the background. I would recommend the spinach and artichoke dip (good to have something tasty and safe if you plan to try some more exotic dishes), the tilapia ceviche, and the blood orange crab cakes."
