Iaria's Italian Restaurant was established in 1913 by Pietro and Antonia Iaria and is currently run by fourth generation family members, Matthew Iaria and Carla Russell. Entering Iaria's is like taking a step back in time...not much has changed over the years. The restaurant and bar both offer booth seating and the decor consists mostly of family and celebrity pictures. The Food: sauces, meatballs, sausage, pizzas are made in house and weekly specials are offered. The Bar: cocktails, extensive wine list and craft beer are all available. It is a popular spot for locals and celebrities. It is a great location for a small get together, business luncheon, holiday party or just a night out. The Iaria family looks forward to seeing you soon...Continued

  • "We have dined at Iaria's many times and we are still returning. The atmosphere is relaxed (although can be delightfully busy on the weekends) and the staff is always pleasant and sporting a smile. The menu is composed of non-complicated Italian favorites that are always delicious. This place is definitely worthy of a spot in the "Where are we going to eat tonight?" rotation."

  • "Iaria's is one of our favorites. It's a long drive from our house, so we don't get there that often but love it every time we are there. Julie was our waitress (one of the family members) and is an AWESOME waitress. She is hilarious and does a terrific job. We ask to be seated at her table every time. The food is great - meals include minestrone soup & a house salad (the homemade Italian dressing is wonderful). My husband ALWAYS order the fettucinne with clams & can barely finish it. Homemade tiarmisu topped off a wonderful meal!"

  • "Good consistent food and service. The special was awesome although my wife thought the fettuccine was somewhat bland and tasteless."

  • "I have been to Iaria's several times and it has been great. Tonight was a different story. Arrived for reservation and was late getting a table. This happens, not a problem. Ordered drinks and appetizer. All good so far. Ordered food and waited and waited. Finally server told us they messed up the order and it would be a few minutes extra. Decided to wait because we always have good food. waited and waited. server tells us it will be a bit longer. Finally after one hour and fifteen minutes, food arrives. by then, well you just are frustrated. Surrounding tables of patrons kept asking us what we ordered that took so long. Offered free dessert for troubles. Not much compensation. Should have talked to manager sooner. "

The salad was crisp. The minestrone Soup was full of vegetables and the pasta was Al dente .The gravy was a bit sweet and had a hint of cinnamon. "

  • "I hate to give it such a bad review, but the food just wasn't very good. Everything else was great, but the most important thing to me is the food. And it just wasn't good. It tasted "old" so to speak. Too bad, my wife and I haven't been there in a couple years. And it's going to be many more before we go back."

  • "First time visiting Iaria's. Had been recommended by a coworker how had gone there for lunch. Arrived at 5:30pm. Only a few other people were there. Ordered calamari. It came out quickly. Appeared to be prepackaged product. Two of them were still frozen together. Ordered cheese tortellini and chicken piccata. Came with soup and house salad. Soup and salad were average and came out as ordered. Cheese tortellini came out plate was cold and food luke warm. The flavor was good and I ate it anyway. If it had been hot I would give it 5 stars. Chicken piccata, was edible but way over salted and a little tough. Also had the Spumoni which came out with a candle for the birthday, nice touch. Just expected more from an iconic resturant."

  • "This family-owned Italian restaurant is, by far, the best one in the city. As a lover of Italian food, I can't think of a more delicious menu than this. My wife is not a fan of Italian food and absolutely LOVES this place. Great for any occasion and/or dining party and at a very reasonable price, take the family here and you definitely won't regret it."

  • "For over 100 years, Iaria's has been serving outstanding Italian cuisine to Indianapolis. My wife and I were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. And, the food and service here create a wonderful experience. It is not a quiet, romantic atmosphere. But, you will definitely want to come back once you have tried the original pasta sauce that 1st generation Mrs. Iaria brought over from Italy. The Seafood Pasta is fantastic. And, the Tiramisu makes a terrific ending that is light and memorable. We will definitely be back."

  • "Great place with a really nice "Old Italian" feel. We had a group of 10 and we were late for our reservation due to travel issues but they were very accommodating in delaying our reservation for an hour. Very attentive waitress and the menu was diverse. I had the veal and it was the real thing, not a processed patty from a factory. I would definitely go back."

  • "Growing up in Fountain Square and moving to suburbia when I was a youth, I never lost my attachment to the area. Whenever I want to revisit the nostalgia of my youth and brag that I grew up in the "hood", I like to enjoy the wonderful, authentic Italian food at Iaria's, especially the kickin' spumoni!"

  • "I've been attending FDIC Conference for 15 years straight! And have gone to Laria's at least once and maybe twice for every year! This Italian food is "one" of best in the USA. I wish they had one in Houston. It's over 100 years old. True Italian food! Very traditional look, Nothing fancy:) Great atmosphere! Everyone I have taken here has returned time and time again! Thank you:)"

  • "My family (including one very picky eater) was visiting, and I wanted to take them to lunch somewhere everyone would like. Iaria's fit the bill. It was fairly quiet for a weekday lunch service, but the staff was very friendly and attentive. All of the food arrived hot. We enjoyed the homemade bleu cheese dressing and pasta sauces (both the marinara and alfredo). My father particularly enjoyed the chicken marsala- plenty of mushrooms."

  • "I went to this restaurant based on a tip from someone in another restaurant bar. Had I known what it was, where it was and the ambiance, I would not have gone there. For someone traveling to downtown Indianapolis, this would not be on my list of places to dine. It had a 60's style interior, no music, noisey chairs, simple tables and paper napkins. The food was not outradgiously good, but not bad in my opinion. This is probably a good place if you live locally and don't want to venture into the city, even though this is very close to the city, for my money, I would have pick another place, but the person I was traveling with wanted to give this a try. After we pulled up, I comented this is it?"

  • "Four generations later and this place is still a classic. Old school Italian, simple, and a good value. Friendly service makes you feel at home. Had extra non meat dishes for Friday in lent. Home made tiramisu closed a perfect meal. Lots of young couples and the old tradiditional customers that have been dining here for years."

  • "The food was far above average - the service was great. The noise was high, but with grandma, granspa and granskids what can youn expect. Next time I'm in town I'll go back."

  • "We didn't get seated until about 40 minutes after our reservation. We were told several times that our table was almost ready but that the restaurant was waiting for the party at the table reserved for us to vacate. I had to check in on our status twice--the hostess didn't seem to apologetic or want to be bothered with the fact I had a reservation at 7:00 and it was 7:40 when we were seated. We ended up being almost an hour late to our show. However, the food is always good at Iaria's. You can't beat it. Our server was very attentive to us especisally once I shared my experience with her. I freqent this restaurant and have never had an experience like this before."
