  • "Host stand has its back to you walking into the restaurant. The wait staff came across as pushy and wanting us to eat and get out quickly. Food was the redeeming factor. Good pasta and great dessert. "

  • "My friend and I went to iRicchi for a groupon which was 2 glasses of wine, prosecco, 2 appetizers and 2 entrees. The server was very friendly and helpful about the menu. We got fried calamari (which was delicious) and bruschetta for appetizers. My friend got the scallops for her entree, and I got the salmon. Unfortunately, I asked for my salmon medium rare, and it was well done. It was just basically a grilled piece of salmon, no real extra flavor or garnish or sauce, and seemed dry because of how it was served. I feel like I could make better salmon. My friend's scallop were delicious, I wish I got those instead! After our first glass of wine, I had house red, I asked for a bottle of that, and they didn't have it available. Too pricey"

  • "The food quality and value for our $70 dinner-for-two Groupon deal were fantastic. Our server was exceptional. Unfortunately, the experience was ruined by painfully slow service that was well beyond the control of our server. We waited 15 minutes for seating, despite having a reservation and our main entrees took 45 minutes to be delivered after out appetizers were cleared. We might consider returning - the food was that good - but certainly not on a busy weekend evening."

  • "I took my girlfriend here for her birthday. It was our first time here, after reading all of the great reviews. I Ricci did not disappoint."

  • "The waiter seemed condescending and had more attitude than I would expect. I had a fish special that was good. One of my colleagues had a pasta dish (the one he wanted was sold out at 12:30 pm) that didn't look all that appealing. He left about half of the meal, so I had the impression that it wasn't that good. The other two colleagues seemed fine with their meals."

  • "My husband and daughter who attende college in DC enjoyed I Ricchi very much. The home made pasta was wonderful as was the mushroom risotto. The salads were generous but not overwhelming. The deserts were homemade and luscious. Go to I Ricchi!!!"

  • "This was a perfect spot to take our in-laws, who were visiting from North Jersey. They may have sampled every upscale Italian restaurant in the mid-Atlantic region, and they thoroughly enjoyed this spot. We had something of everything (salads, soups, pasta, meat entrees, seafood, dessert) and they were all excellent. The service was perfect. (We were also using a Groupon, and although many places restrict the menu/treat diners differently when they bring along a coupon, Ristorante i Ricci did not)."

  • "The food was just okay. The lukewarm polenta had a weird taste. Was so disappointed because I love polenta. The steak had too much sauce plus they didn't believe in finely dicing the peppers. The appetizers, salads, were good."

  • "Authentic Italian food in a fun and energetic environment. Pricey, but we used a Groupon that was a fantastic deal. Fun for a large group and it was delicious!"

  • "Never a dissapointment. Excellent food ans service. Although my favorite waiter has left, the gentleman we had was amazing as well. Food is different from most restaurants and delicious."

  • "My food was fair even after I had asked waiter specific question about the meat---it came dryer and medium rather than medium-rare. Service was very good so had I commented on food they probably would have compensated---it is not worth the reputation or cost."

  • "Excellent service. Menu was robust but no hesitamcy to put something creative together upon request."

  • "I can only hope that what they served us is not what they serve guests paying full price. What a disappointment. The 'New York Strip' my husband was served was not even close. Neither of us are sure what cut it was exactly but there was more tendon than meat. We literally took it home for the dog. The cannellini beans we ordered as a side, were just that... canned. The calamari and tomato salad were fine. Desserts were nothing special. Had we paid full price I would've been outraged. At $69 for two people we'll just never go back."

  • "Compliments to our wonderful waiter Jaime. He was super attentive and charming. The food was great and we really enjoyed the meal. We were there on a Friday evening and the restaurant was bustling. The entire staff did an outstanding job in keeping everyone's meal flowing. I would highly recommend I Ricchi as a good dining choice in Washington D.C."

  • "I Ricchi is resting on its laurels. Food was boring, service a bit too much, noise level very loud."

  • "We had a really fine meal, including a mushroom and mozzarella starter that alone would be sufficient reason to return to the restaurant. The service was attentive and impeccable. The woman at the reservations desk went out of her way to find us a quiet table when she realized I have a hearing disability, which we very much appreciated."

  • "Awesome. The Caprese and beet salad are great starters. The veal chop is unique and worth every bite. Great service: attentive without being overwhelming. Excellent wine list. Slightly pricey but worthy it. Next time we are in DC this one is on the list."

  • "Advertised as "authentic Tuscan", I have to say I was disappointed. The food was decent, but having lived in Florence, being Italian, and my parents living in northern Italy, I was hoping for better. I was hoping to be blown away, and I just wasn't. The food was fine, but not great. And the calamari was a let down. I probably won't return."

  • "My wife and I returned to i Ricchi after a 19 year gap. Our first experience in 1995 was memorable for food, incredible service and a good atmosphere. However, our recent trip there was only acceptable. The food was not very good. Neither of our appetizers were memorable. Two of the three items of my mixed grill entree were too heavy on the salt. The third item, the lamb chop, was so tough that I had difficulty cutting it with a steak knife. The dessert was good but not great. The one area where i Ricchi gets good marks is with their service. Our waiter offerred good suggestions for wines and was attentive when needed. Overall, the experience was unremarkable and not a good value."

  • "I returned to I Ricchi for the second time, some 15 years after the first time. It was not as good as I remembered it. I ordered a veal chop, one of my favorite dishes. I ordered it medium rare, but it came barely rare. It was alright but not great. Less flavor than usual. The service was not what I remembered. It was only one night, but I had the feeling this is a restaurant that's resting on its laurels."

  • "I told the waiter I was using a Groupon andwe were promptly ignored for the next half hour. Mediocre, run-of-the-mill Italian food. The only time we were paid any attention by the waiter was when he presented the bill. He wrote in large letters that the "value" of our meal was almost $400 which was roughly double the total menu prices of everything we ordered. He proceeded to hover at the table until he found out how much I was going to tip him. I am always happy to tip well for good service but do not believe in rewarding bad service. As a result I gave him just 18% of the value of the Groupon and felt that was more than fair. He then loudly berated me about this injustice and embarrassed my guests. I should have reduced the tip to 0!"

  • "We had a wonderful meal and evening at I Ricchi. The restaurant was recommended to us by friends and we are thrilled. Our waiter was superb and made excellent recommendations."

  • "I had a difficult time deciding which appetizer to choose because they all sounded good. I chose the polenta with the most marvelous mushrooms. When it arrived, it looked lovely and tasted divine. The waiter was most knowledgeable and helped me chose a main course from the many delicious sounding varieties. The fish was thick and juicy, just the way I like it. It was my friend's birthday and when the desert came her plate wash decorated with happy birthday wishes. She was delighted."

  • "My and my wife had dinner reservation on Saturday night. Even showing up on time we were shown to wait at the bar. At the bar there was only one chair available so we were standing for another 15 minutes. Food was good, but did not meet our expectations. At restaurant of this level we did expect more attention to detail, especially sauces, garnish, etc. Poor selection of wines by the glass, we were not offered half size bottles. Otherwise it was nice, but not more. For the dinner in range of $100 per person I would not recommend this restaurant to my friends."

  • "We have eaten at i Ricci many times and have never been disappointed. The service is excellent and the food is wonderful. They are also very amenable to special requests; for example, they modify dishes to be gluten free. We will continue to eat here in the future."

  • "Food is not bad, but it's certainly not worth the price. Crammed floor plan makes having a private conversation... awkward."

  • "A couple of hours before I made the reservation, I checked to see if 7:45 was available, and it was. I was also pleased to see that it was a 1,000 point reservation. I had to check with my wife about whether that time was good for her, and so there was a delay of perhaps half an hour in coming back to make the reservation. When I did, 7:45 was suddenly only worth 100 points....... Not sure why, or how this works, but it was disappointing. As for I Ricci, been there before, always good service and good food. Some tables are better than others in terms of noise and privacy. So suggest you take that into account in making the reservation. Ask for Anthony to be your waiter."

  • "I've eaten here a number of times in the past year and my only disappointment has been the rare occasion when the kitchen is out of something. The food and the service are both touch notch. I can't get enough of the focaccia bread. One of my favorite appetizers is the warm greens with goat cheese. It's hard to pick a favorite entree, but I love all of the fish and the pasta with rabbit. While the entire wait staff is excellent, I want to give special recognition to Noel. He always makes us feel special and treats us as though we're the most important people in the room.. Should you decide to dine here, ask for a table in Noel's section. If he's not available, however, you'll be fine because all of the servers are excellent."

  • "I have gone to i Ricchi for 20 years. It was THE place to go for great food years ago and has lost some luster. I had a business dinner there this week. There were four of us at a perfect table in a corner...very nice and comfortable; quiet until the restaurant started to fill up and then it got tolerably noisey. The service was over the top great. The wine, the bread and a group appetizer of mushrooms, roasted red peppers and quick fried Calamari were terrific. Those were the highlights. The Rockfish was just OK and the lamb chop was tough and (I like rare) a bit too raw so it was chewy. The scallops were good. It was all good but not great."

  • "I've been to i Ricchi several times, however this time was for a very special occasion, a good friend's birthday. I reserved on Open Table and left a note for the restaurant that it was my friend's birthday. From the moment we were greeted until the end of the meal, the staff continued to make it a very special Birthday for my friend. Her name was listed at the top of the menu (yes, printed on the Menu). And dessert even came with a Happy Birthday chocolate sign. Food was delicious as always."
