  • "Upon arrival, the host and hostess were great; we were seated promptly near the window. Syed came over after a minute or two and asked what we would like to drink. I informed him that we had a Groupon and at that moment his entire personality changed. The disappointing part was the fact that our waiter Syed was rude, abrasive and is an extremely unpleasant person. After coming back with my phone (he had to redeem the voucher), he said he would come back in two minutes to get our entire order… at once. He said that “we need it for the kitchen.” What fine, upscale dining can’t accommodate a two top? We wanted to have a nice romantic dinner at i Ricchi, we left extremely disappointed. We will not be returning "

  • "Love the bread here! Very delicious bread. I love the prosciutto appetizer! Sweet melon and fritter and good meat. For entree, I recommend the lamb chop over the steak. The mix grill is not as ideal because the baby quail is somewhat over-cooked but the lamb chop in the mix grill still lives up to expectation. Of course, the new cherry mouse dessert is well balanced with the sourness of cherry mouse and the sweetness of the cream. "

  • "Dinner at I Ricci is always a delight. With a wonderful atmosphere, the service is attentive and non-intrusive....it's inviting, warm, cozy and very comfortable. Feels like a place you might find in Italy. Becoming a favorite for me! The food is also fabulous!! Their house cured salmon was melt-in-your-mouth delicious, the pappardelle with rabbit wonderful (wish I ordered it as a main entree and not just a second course!), the beet salad special was very tasty and generous enough for two. Our table had NY strips, filet and scallops to everyone's delight. Can't wait to go back! "

  • "My friend and I went to iRicchi for a groupon which was 2 glasses of wine, prosecco, 2 appetizers and 2 entrees. The server was very friendly and helpful about the menu. We got fried calamari (which was delicious) and bruschetta for appetizers. My friend got the scallops for her entree, and I got the salmon. Unfortunately, I asked for my salmon medium rare, and it was well done. It was just basically a grilled piece of salmon, no real extra flavor or garnish or sauce, and seemed dry because of how it was served. I feel like I could make better salmon. My friend's scallop were delicious, I wish I got those instead! After our first glass of wine, I had house red, I asked for a bottle of that, and they didn't have it available. Too pricey"

  • "The food quality and value for our $70 dinner-for-two Groupon deal were fantastic. Our server was exceptional. Unfortunately, the experience was ruined by painfully slow service that was well beyond the control of our server. We waited 15 minutes for seating, despite having a reservation and our main entrees took 45 minutes to be delivered after out appetizers were cleared. We might consider returning - the food was that good - but certainly not on a busy weekend evening."

  • "The waiter seemed condescending and had more attitude than I would expect. I had a fish special that was good. One of my colleagues had a pasta dish (the one he wanted was sold out at 12:30 pm) that didn't look all that appealing. He left about half of the meal, so I had the impression that it wasn't that good. The other two colleagues seemed fine with their meals."

  • "This was a perfect spot to take our in-laws, who were visiting from North Jersey. They may have sampled every upscale Italian restaurant in the mid-Atlantic region, and they thoroughly enjoyed this spot. We had something of everything (salads, soups, pasta, meat entrees, seafood, dessert) and they were all excellent. The service was perfect. (We were also using a Groupon, and although many places restrict the menu/treat diners differently when they bring along a coupon, Ristorante i Ricci did not)."

  • "The food was just okay. The lukewarm polenta had a weird taste. Was so disappointed because I love polenta. The steak had too much sauce plus they didn't believe in finely dicing the peppers. The appetizers, salads, were good."

  • "I can only hope that what they served us is not what they serve guests paying full price. What a disappointment. The 'New York Strip' my husband was served was not even close. Neither of us are sure what cut it was exactly but there was more tendon than meat. We literally took it home for the dog. The cannellini beans we ordered as a side, were just that... canned. The calamari and tomato salad were fine. Desserts were nothing special. Had we paid full price I would've been outraged. At $69 for two people we'll just never go back."

We were there on a Friday evening and the restaurant was bustling. The entire staff did an outstanding job in keeping everyone's meal flowing. The food was decent, but having lived in Florence, being Italian, and my parents living in northern Italy, I was hoping for better. I was hoping to be blown away, and I just wasn't.   • "My wife and I returned to i Ricchi after a 19 year gap. Our first experience in 1995 was memorable for food, incredible service and a good atmosphere. However, our recent trip there was only acceptable. The food was not very good. Neither of our appetizers were memorable. Two of the three items of my mixed grill entree were too heavy on the salt. The third item, the lamb chop, was so tough that I had difficulty cutting it with a steak knife. The dessert was good but not great. The one area where i Ricchi gets good marks is with their service. Our waiter offerred good suggestions for wines and was attentive when needed. Overall, the experience was unremarkable and not a good value."

  • "I returned to I Ricchi for the second time, some 15 years after the first time. It was not as good as I remembered it. I ordered a veal chop, one of my favorite dishes. I ordered it medium rare, but it came barely rare. It was alright but not great. Less flavor than usual. The service was not what I remembered. It was only one night, but I had the feeling this is a restaurant that's resting on its laurels."

  • "I told the waiter I was using a Groupon andwe were promptly ignored for the next half hour. Mediocre, run-of-the-mill Italian food. The only time we were paid any attention by the waiter was when he presented the bill. He wrote in large letters that the "value" of our meal was almost $400 which was roughly double the total menu prices of everything we ordered. He proceeded to hover at the table until he found out how much I was going to tip him. I am always happy to tip well for good service but do not believe in rewarding bad service. As a result I gave him just 18% of the value of the Groupon and felt that was more than fair. He then loudly berated me about this injustice and embarrassed my guests. I should have reduced the tip to 0!"

  • "I had a difficult time deciding which appetizer to choose because they all sounded good. I chose the polenta with the most marvelous mushrooms. When it arrived, it looked lovely and tasted divine. The waiter was most knowledgeable and helped me chose a main course from the many delicious sounding varieties. The fish was thick and juicy, just the way I like it. It was my friend's birthday and when the desert came her plate wash decorated with happy birthday wishes. She was delighted."

  • "My and my wife had dinner reservation on Saturday night. Even showing up on time we were shown to wait at the bar. At the bar there was only one chair available so we were standing for another 15 minutes. Food was good, but did not meet our expectations. At restaurant of this level we did expect more attention to detail, especially sauces, garnish, etc. Poor selection of wines by the glass, we were not offered half size bottles. Otherwise it was nice, but not more. For the dinner in range of $100 per person I would not recommend this restaurant to my friends."

  • "A couple of hours before I made the reservation, I checked to see if 7:45 was available, and it was. I was also pleased to see that it was a 1,000 point reservation. I had to check with my wife about whether that time was good for her, and so there was a delay of perhaps half an hour in coming back to make the reservation. When I did, 7:45 was suddenly only worth 100 points....... Not sure why, or how this works, but it was disappointing. As for I Ricci, been there before, always good service and good food. Some tables are better than others in terms of noise and privacy. So suggest you take that into account in making the reservation. Ask for Anthony to be your waiter."
