Since 1992, I Love Sushi on Lake Union has been serving the greater Seattle area as I Love Sushi’s second branch.
On sunny days, enjoy the sunshine, fresh air and the water view on our lakeside patio. At night, stay warm inside, or try dining outside under heat lamps, accompanied by hot sake! The starry sky and spectacular view of the illuminated Space Needle make us glad to be here in Washington.
Upon entering, you'll be greeted by our friendly staff. Whether you're a first time sushi eater or a connoisseur, we'd be glad to help you navigate our menu, and steer you to something you will enjoy.
Great atmosphere, superb food, and fine drinks!

We've been coming here for 6 years and have always had a great sushi. We always sit at the sushi bar and let Taneda-san serve up the best he has to offer. We have also been fortunate to have Chris as the sushi chef, who was trained by Taneda-san, and have been impressed with his skills and creations. We're customers for life.

Poor service. Were seated way in the back and forgotten. Had to at one point get up and find someone to ask to get our waters refilled. Our waitress forgot to deliver one of our entrees. We assumed she left the table to get it and she just never returned. So almost 15 minutes later, when she returned, we had to remind her. The entree looked nothing like the picture of it on their website - we feel they left off half of the ingredients. The sushi rolls were only okay, nothing special. We will not eat here again, nor recommend it.

In all fairness, hadn't been back in years, so don't know if this is old news. Food was decent, but those of you that know the subtleties of Sushi and Japanese food in general, may be disappointed. Staff was friendly (if not the most attentive).

I have eaten here quite a bit so I was surprised when my group, which of course we had a reservation, had to wait 20 minutes to be seated. Obviously there was nothing that we could have done, but as a ex-restaurant owner, you should always take care of your customers and they didn't do one thing for us which I thought was rude.

We caught up with some friends who were visiting Seattle and staying in South Lake Union, and this was a reasonably priced restaurant in the right place with a nice view of the marina. The Sashimi and Rolls were imaginative and very tasty. We highly recommend for a catch up over lunch.

The sushi remains exceptional, which is the reason for the 5-star overall rating. There seems to be a high turnover with waitstaff lately and we did not have a very attentive one this particular night while sitting at the sushi bar...had to keep looking for him for additional drinks and water refills.

My husband and I really enjoy good sushi, and thought this would be a great place to celebrate Valentines Day. First, you have to pay $8.00 for parking... Not a big deal, just annoying. Second, the sushi didn't have a lot of flavor and wasn't anything special. We decided to get the fried ice cream for dessert and it was really heavy and took a long time to get. Like I said, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't great...

I Love Sushi is a very good place to have dinner in the South Lake Union area, but be careful because it can get quite expensive. I would totally recommend the lobster tail sushi roll because it was simply amazing!! The assorted sashimi on the other hand it was good, but the cuts were uneven.

Also had the pineapple drop martini which is yummy, and had something with midori, coconut rum and pineapple. Sweet but I like it that way. Can't wait to return!

No better sushi around from our experience. We've been going here for 5+ years. Sit at the sushi bar with Taneda-san or the young new chef Masa-san (or is it Masaki-san?). Let them know if you want them to be creative or to stick to certain items. Service this time was excellent. On the rare occasion, we get a less attentive server (the one responsible for drinks and water). But it is easily overlooked as the sushi is the highlight. We never leave disappointed.

We decided to dine here because it was in walking distance from our hotel overlooking Lake Union. We enjoyed several items from Chef's Special menu, including Pacific Northwest Sampler, Super Rainbow roll and Oyster shooter. Everything was incredibly fresh and sooooo good, we ended up ordering add'l items. We also liked the casual atmosphere and friendly service.

We've been coming here for 5 years now (1-2 times per month) and have always had a great meal. We always sit at the sushi bar and Taneda-san is our favorite sushi chef (and the young Masa-san is a close second). The sushi is always fresh with wonderful texture. It's not a flashy place, but that's not our objective...our goal is to completely sate our desire for the freshest sushi and I Love Sushi never disappoints.

8:00 on a Saturday night and every sushi place in the area seemed to have a 20+ minute wait! 'I Love Sushi' let us right in when I made last minute reservations, and we weren't elbow-to-elbow with the other patrons. I love a quiet dinner, and on a weekend, that's hard to find with how picky I am when it comes to sushi! Although it's a little pricey for the quality/presentation, the specials were pretty reasonable, and we left completely stuffed. The major pros would be: the real, yes REAL crab in their rolls, clever cocktails, and ambiance. The only con that really comes to mind is the nigiri; it was very good, but less memorable than the price.

This is a great place to get sushi that does not disappoint. Yet do have many "Americanized" rolls, with either cream cheese or mayo (ewww), but they have good, classic sushi as well. I was seated with a party of 4 very quickly, ordered in the first 5 minutes, and had my sushi shortly after. The view of the water is great and the prices were very average for Seattle sushi.

Had a great meal, as always, at I Love Sushi. My dinner companion wasn't fond of raw fish (so why go to a sushi restaurant? you ask) but found plenty of cooked entrees to satisfy. I, too, decided to go for a cooke entree and had a wonderful piece of Chilean sea bass -- succulent and melted in my mouth. I couldn't resist a few pieces of sushi which were tasty and very fresh as expected. All in all, a great dining experience.
