This past visit I enjoyed beautiful clean oysters OHS, spinach salad (that they spilt for my husband and and I), and the never disappointing strip steak. The strip is honestly my favorite in our area. Even though the menu stays pretty much the same year after year they always have specials that are interesting and a change of pace. I would recommend Hutch's over and over again. By the way, best lemon drop anywhere!6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMEnjoyable EveningWe were told about Hutch's and that we MUST try it by the front desk staff at a hotel we stayed at last month. Knowing we were to be back in Buffalo soon, we decided to try, and were not disappointed. We had a reservation for 8:30 pm but didn't get seated until just after 9 pm. Once we were seated, the service was excellent. The wait staff were attentive and friendly. My husband had the Monkfish special, and it was phenomenal, I had the Bistro Steak meal..it was very good, but the steak, although cooked to my liking, did not have much flavour (a bit disappointing). We both had lovely salads to start, and dessert, accompanied by a bottle of red wine. Everything was excellent. The food was of the highest quality and prepared brilliantly. Tony our waiter was excellent, displayed great knowledge of the menu, and gave great service. We were never rushed either. Had a lovely Beet Walnut and Blue Cheese dressing, though my friend had a simple garden salad and loved hers as well. Jambalaya was delicious. Wanted to sop up the yummy juices. The flourless chocolate cake was for dark chocolate lovers like myself. The service was EXCELLENT - not obtrusive yet attentive. A lovely evening out - who knew such fine dining would be found in the home of wings!5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect for graduation celebrationWe were in Buffalo to celebrate my son's college graduation and I picked Hutch's based on online reviews - I am not familiar with the city and my son knew no "fancy" places. It was wonderful!
There were 7 of us and we all have different tastes (including a vegetarian and someone who keeps Kosher). Everyone loved the food, including my boyfriend who pronounced it very good (which is the highest praise from him).
The service was excellent and they were so nice - when I called to tell them that we would be late because we were lost, they could not have been more understanding (unlike some experiences I've had on Long Island!).

I had a 5 Sipper Manhattan and he chose a Rusty Chain. The Manhattan's description is sweet, but it was not, which I like. I had the Foie Gras Torchon and we shared the bacon, which was bourbon and apple cider braised. Make sure you you get this if you dine at Hutch's. My son had the perch app which had a vinegar-based cole slaw and the perch was fried but not greasy. My entree was the fontina and sage stuffed veal chop wrapped in prosciutto. The dish was fabulous. My son had the shrimp and scallop topped halibut. My son had creme brulee and he described it as classic and done well. I found the servers to be well trained and attentive without being disruptive. The bar is well stocked with higher end liquors and a great selection of wine by the glass or bottle. We often dined at Hutches while we lived in WNY and hadn't been back to visit for 5 years. While visiting our son, we dined at Hutch's this weekend. The quality of the food and drink hasn't changed a bit. This is one of the culinary gems in Buffalo. The young chefs in the kitchen are culinary artists in the true sense of the word. The food quality, flavor and presentation continue to be awesome. Prices are reasonable considering the offerings. I was especially happy with the wine specials list. Hutches was offering a Barolo at the price I would expect to pay retail in our pathetic Pennsylvania State Stores. Great value!
