A word from Hutch
Hutch was conceived based on two ideas; people want to be comfortable where they eat and what they eat and drink has to be cravable. Hutch represents just that, a warm and inviting place to truly enjoy yourself and food that is approachable, and most importantly delicious.

Let Hutch be the place you come back to over and over. Come create memories, enjoy the best of what life has to offer, and come crave one great experience after another dish, by dish.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "Good selection, but the menu wasn't overwhelming like it usually is at breakfast. We bought a groupon hoping to use, but it was only good for dinner."

  • "I went with a group of 5 friends and we decided to order appetizers aplenty from the menu. Everything was VERY tasty, and very share-able. We tried the Hutch and Green salad -- fresh, tasty, and both were unique. The shrimp we ordered were large and tasty. The flatbread was thin, crispy and flavourful. The cutting board, presented very well, and had a lot of fun flavors to mix and match. Also, our waitress Emily was AMAZING. She has an excellent smile, makes great recommendations, and is knowledgable and attentive. A great experience."

  • "We were going to Stage 773 and wanted to try a neighborhood restaurant before the show. There were 5 of us - we ordered an assortment of beers and the special cucumber cocktail (mostly ice although it was flavorful). We also shared the artichoke heart appetizer (4 pcs - more breading than necessary) and the white bean dip which was very tasty - but the marinated veggie that accompanied it tasted very vinegary. All entrees were just ok. Our bill was about $160.00 including tip."

  • "I always pass by Hutch when I run through the neighborhood, and I'm so glad I finally decided to dine there. The BBQ chicken flatbread was absolutely delicious, as was the goat cheese salad. The drinks and appetizers (I can only speak to the artichoke fritters) were fairly small given the price, but the quality was on point."

  • "Only ate Brunch so can not comment on dinner menu. Excellent brunch menu and love that Hutch takes reservations. VERY loud when the restaurant is full of people. Service could have been better. It took a while to have our drink orders taken and then we were never offered refills. Food service was timely once our orders were taken."

  • "I was really pleased with the service, food and price for a Sunday brunch at Hutch. Even though the place was packed, our server was very attentive and super friendly. The food was delivered promptly - a lot sooner than I expected for how busy it was! And it was so good, I got the "Tot-chos" and my boyfriend got the Bacon Sausage corn waffles. I highly recommend both. The best part is - a carafe of mimosas is only $8! ($2 for single mimosa) Can't beat that price anywhere in the city."

  • "Food was bland and a little boring. Waitress recited the same lines to us and all tables near us and sounded like a recording. The table we were put at was outside but was jammed in a corner and we had very little room. It was an unpleasant experience all around and I will not be back."

  • "The food left a lasting impression with all 4 of us! The Ribs were done with a secret sauce that was not to tangy or too sweet, they fell off the bone nd melted in my mouth!-I keep thinking about them! Cant wait to go back yum! The Salmon had a light flavoring on it and complimented the fish w/o overpowering it! I don't like fish and I loved this fish!! We had skillet shrimp and skillet corn bread for apps and could not get enough of them. The menu has something for everyone and even vegetarians, and wont break the bank! Priced well an A+experience and FUN!! We all will be going back!"

  • "Nice dinner. Trout, fish sandwich, vegy risotto. All delicious."

  • "Yummy food, good wine and kid friendly what could be better when you need a break."

  • "So glad I finally made it to Hutch after passing by here almost daily for months. My friend and I decided to share a bunch of things and went with the mussels, barbecue chicken flatbread, and drunken shrimp. Everything was yummy and I am hoping to come back here for brunch soon. Definitely worth checking out!"

  • "Went here for dinner and it was okay. Nothing special in terms of food. The patio along side the building is nice for people watching. I hear their brunch is something to talk about so might come back to try the brunch. $2 mimosa glasses and $8 mimosa crafts."

  • "Expected much better than we received. Went to Hutch after Cubs' game and got an outside table. Service was generally good, but the food was just OK. I ordered my rib eye medium rare, and it was well done. Nothing exceptional in the other 2 meals ordered. Probably won't return because it's a little pricey with just average food preparation."

  • "If restaraunt has a special night ($12 steak and fries) they should honor it (Despite a groupon), instead of charging full price."

  • "everything we ate was outstanding, chilaquiles, the muffin sandwich, french toast. only issue was the noise level, we were all shouting across the table to compete with it also the a/c was broken that day making it almost uncomfortable to be inside"

  • "They do such a great job at Hutch!! Great BBQ chicken pizza, great meatballs. Great salmon. We'll be back!"

  • "Be prepared to wait for service. Food quality is not consistent. Visited on other occasions and food was better."

  • "We went last Friday for a girlfriend's birthday and were retreated like VIPs from the owner, Marc, and his staff. Highly recommend the restaurant and making a reservation in advance."

  • "My friends and I randomly selected Hutch as a gathering spot for dinner, based on location. We were not disappointed, as our food was delicious and the cocktails were nice and strong. We ordered the truffle fries as an app and they were phenomenal :) I highly recommend my dish, the Panko crusted chicken. I will definitely suggest Hutch to other friends."

  • "Hutch is a nice neighborhood American food place. Some outside tables, lots of Windows. Small, small bar area. The scallops were good but the "French dip" sandwich was not. Beef was tough, sliced too thick and had a very "old" taste to it. Pick something else if you go. Service was friendly."

  • "I'm in town for a month long Exec Ed. program at NU. Formally I resided in Hyde Park. A few of my cohorts and family from TX asked for my "foodie" expertise. I immediately decided they needed to experience the affordable and amazing food. 3/7 people ordered the chicken and waffles. They each melted when they took their first bit. I ordered the smoked salmon flatbread and was satisfied. Don't forget the mimosas. They have seasonal flavors and a blood orange. Beware of the noise level. People are enjoying themselves, loudly!!!!"

  • "Dinner at Hutch was nice! The food was good and so was the service! We'll definitely be going back again."

  • "Lively (and noisy) restaurant. Food was delicious - BBQ salmon for me, baseball-cut steak for my husband. The blue cheese risotto was especially good."

  • "We had dinner here before heading to a local show. It's got a great location near several theatre venues, and an energetic fun vibe. The food was good not great. The service was friendly, though hurried and not especially attentive."
    Dined on 7/19/2014
  • "I feel like we had to wait longer than usual for our beers and other drinks. When we got there, we were the only ones in the place, and it still took a good 7-8 minutes to get our drinks to the table. Even when we reordered, it took a while."
    Dined on 7/19/2014
  • "Food quality not great. Risotto awful. Fish sandwich had lots of bones. Service needs major improvement. Great location but just not pulled together."
    Dined on 7/18/2014
  • "Food was awesome. We will be back for steak and fries soon!"

  • "Had dinner there tonight, first time, and it was fantastic. We both had the Blood Orange Margarita's which were great. I had the scallops, perfectly seared and topped with crispy leeks which were perfect. My partner had the ribs and started off by saying the fries were the best he'd ever had and I tried them. I had to agree. He let me try the ribs and, oh my Lord, that barbecue sauce was amazing. There was an interesting sweetness (almost like peaches) when you first tasted it and then the spice came afterwards. And they were cooked perfectly. The decor in the place is very cozy and comfortable and the transformation is impressive. The staff was incredibly friendly and professional. We can't wait to go back!"

  • "So, the few good things first... love the $15 bottomless mimosas (providing you can get your server to refill them). Decor is quite nice and the staff friendly enough. My reservation was honored on time. The two GLARING areas of opportunity are: 1) The quality of the food (and presentation if I were being picky) - bland, boring and without any redeeming qualities. 2) The wait... for EVERYTHING."

  • "Food and service were okay. The restaurant was too loud, better noise suppression is needed."

  • "I haven't been to hutch for lunch or dinner, but I've been for brunch twice and each time I got the chilaquiles - they are delicious! They are much better than a few other places around the city. The monkey bread was a bit dry the first time I went, but the second time it was MUCH better. I would definitely recommend this place for brunch. I made a reservation, but when I went without a reservation it was a 30-40min wait."

  • "First time here, what a disappointment. I ordered a steak med. rare. It came beyond well done. I would have sent it back but she took our orders our waitress completely disappeared. Bus staff brought the food out and we didn't see our server again until an hour and a half after we initially placed our order. And we had to ask the bus staff to get her then. The rest of my table's food was no better. I will not be going back to Hutch and I will be advising everyone I know to avoid the place."
    Dined on 7/5/2014
  • "Second time here and we enjoyed all of our meals, once again. The only thing that was only so-so was the tuna appetizer, which was a little cold in the middle (ok to be rare, but cold?!) Was very surprised that the scallops were outstanding! I expected them to be good, but not great. The bean burger and the french dip were also very good and i loved my hutch salad."

  • "We had brunch at Hutch the day of the Pride Parade. It was busy in the restaurant but not over crowded. Our server was attentive and the food was great. I recommend the Blood Orange Mimosas! I will definitely visit Hutch again when I'm in the neighborhood."

  • "The noise level will keep me away. This restaurant has changed names a number of times. The food is good, nothing special."

  • "Everything is great! The food is good and the ambience is very relaxing. You can have fun in a group."

  • "Hutch is just a few blocks fro Wrigley Field and offers a menu divers from the traditional bar food / ballpark food found in the area. This was a perfect find for a business meal before enjoying an evening of baseball. I would recommend and I would visit again."

  • "Tasty mimosas and great food. Love this place but I highly recommend making a reservation. The place fills quickly for brunch. Well worth it!"

  • "appetizers are excellent. Nice varied menu with some unique items."

  • "Our service was great, that is what made our experience. Our server was friendly and very attentive. Great drink menu and our drinks were well made. I had a great meal however my boyfriend was extremly dissapointed with his steak. For a $50.00 steak he said it felt like "choice" meat not prime. It did not melt in his mouth. We would return however we would not waste the money on another steak meal. Stick with the basic menu and it will be more worth the money and experience!"
