A word from Hutch
Hutch was conceived based on two ideas; people want to be comfortable where they eat and what they eat and drink has to be cravable. Hutch represents just that, a warm and inviting place to truly enjoy yourself and food that is approachable, and most importantly delicious.

Let Hutch be the place you come back to over and over. Come create memories, enjoy the best of what life has to offer, and come crave one great experience after another dish, by dish.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "Solid food and a good atmosphere. The waitress was excellent. We had steaks, ribs and scallops and everyone loved their dish."

  • "Great spot to stop if you're in the mood for never ending mimosas. I liked that they put a carafe for the table. The food was good, but our service was just okay. The Server herself was fairly preoccupied. It is also extremely loud indoors at peak brunch time. The patio however looked like it would be great during nicer weather. I would go back and try again for the patio and the bottomless mimosas."

  • "The food was mediocre. Things have gone down hill tremendously since the change from Socca to Hutch. Socca used to be one of my favorites, but I won't go back to Hutch. Our service neglected us and at times we believe that she forgot that our table was assigned to her. Another server happen to be walking by and said that she would send our server over and ended up stepping in for her. We had friends in from out of town and were embarrassed by the level of service and not so good food. The pizza was incredibly salty and the steak was in pieces and over cooked."

  • "Way too loud. I could hardly talk to anyone at the table! But good food."

  • "Food is decent. Enjoyed the bottomless mimosas. Servers seem a bit overwhelmed during the rush period."

  • "Brought a group of 8 here for a a friends birthday dinner and had such a great time. Our waitress, Marget, was very attentive and made great suggestions for food and drink. All of us ordered cocktails, I recommend the Lakeview Fizz, appetizers, entrees, and a couple desserts to share. I had told Marget that it was a friends birthday and they were very nice and put a candle in her dessert. I was especially impressed when the restaurant gave the birthday girl a bottle of wine and coupons to the restaurant to take home. They really went above and beyond to make the night special!"

  • "I had reservations for a group of 6. 3 of us arrived together, but the hostess wanted the entire party there before she would seat us. I made reservations the day before and half of us were there. I even saw an open table for 6 while we waited. She sensed my annoyance and sat us anyway. Four of us ordered the bottomless mimosas ($15= great deal) but waited 30 minutes between our first and second glass. There's also a disclaimer at the bottom of the menu that says if you order bottomless, there's a time limit and no rowdy behavior. Why even offer the bottomless? I think our waitress was deliberately taking her time for this reason. Not cool. Omelet was OK. Too many other good brunch places in the city to deal with this again."

  • "Great for weekend brunch- bottomless mimosas were flowing! Make sure to make a reservation- the place was packed. Looked like they would have a cute outdoor dining area for warm weather. Definitely recommend for brunch!"

  • "blah service. Nobody greeted my friend (per my opentable notes regarding her bday). Flatbread was gritty (not in a good way). The cocktail was overpoweringly bacon-y. They brought the wrong dessert, and the banana dessert that they did bring, was bland."

  • "The food was delicious. And the service was fantastic. Every dish was better than the one before it. Definitely will return for more."

  • "Went in last Sunday with some friends for brunch (and mimosas), they have a really unique menu. Five kinds of Benedicts, Chicken and Waffles and Monkey Bread are some of the things we enjoyed (and mimosas). The food was great, super fresh, well seasoned and cooked perfectly. In the case of my Chorizo Benedict, the spicy hollandaise was a nice switch. Will definitely return for a yummy brunch, thanks for a great experience."

  • "I would probably return but won't go running back to Hutch. At least not for brunch anyway. Seated a half hour after our reservation. The restaurant was very busy however. Chilaquiles while not the best ever, were solid. Two of the members of my party got the California Benedict. The product didn't match up to the menu description and frankly just kind of looked sad. The mimosa deal is the real draw, at least with the menu we tried. Service, was very friendly and as prompt as possible."

  • "Great brunch spot, but skip the chicken and waffle...tyson chicken breast strips shouldn't be considered "chicken" in an actual restaurant. Other items were great (even the waffle) service was great...just too bad about the "chicken""

  • "They were able to accommodate 11 people on a Friday night. We had a huge table and a great server. None of our drinks or meal were messed up. Love that there is finally a good restaurant on that block of Clark in Lakeview."

  • "We went to use a Living Social deal fgroupsr first visit to Hutch. The deal was good, and the food was very tasty. I liked that the grits were not instant! The drinks were very different, particularly the Starsky bloody mary. Sadly, I wasn't a fan. Fortunately our server came to my rescue and let me sub out a traditional bloody. This was both extremely generous and delicious! It was VERY loud, but it was St Patrick's weekend on Parade Day. There were many large groups, so perhaps another weekend would be better."

  • "Nice service, decent food, but very loud Saturday brunch. Bottleless mimosa offering leads to roudy atmosphere. If that's what you're looking for, great! But if you want to be able to have quieter conversation, select another destination."

  • "Good food and atmosphere. Nice and bright with the big windows. Service was just okay but that wasn't a bad thing. Good cane out fine. The croissant French toast was insanely good. I'd go back."

  • "Three friends and I went to Hutch on a snowy Saturday night. Cocktails and wine were good and the food was very good too. We really enjoyed the restaurant overall!"

  • "You could make a meal of apps: Flat breads, salads. Delicious scallops & risotto, fabulous short ribs, tasty steak with horseradish mashed potatoes & red wine sauce. The goat cheese cheesecake with fruit was a wonderful finish. Nice cocktails & wines. Go! Always great, welcoming service."

  • "The service was great and the food was really good. The portions were generous. Our group had a great time. Given all of the good points, it doesn't seem fair to complain that Hutch was pricey, but I thought it was a little pricey. Still, I would absolutely go back. It's a great neighborhood spot."

  • "One of my favorite restaurants in the neighborhood; eat here almost every week. Ally was an outstanding server whose knowledge of the menu and recommendations were very appreciated."

  • "This restaurant was great! The food was delicious and the atmosphere was vibrant and fun. I will definitely be going back soon."

  • "Hutch is a great go-to restaurant to have in the neighborhood. Not formal, not too casual, just right in the middle. The food has been excellent every time we've visited, and the appetizers alone can be combined to make a great "tasting style" dinner. The staff has always been very welcoming, and we will keep coming back!"

  • "Went here because our usual spot wasn't available. It was crowded and the noise level was almost unbearable. The men at the table behind us kept stomping their feet, making noise, quite annoying. Anyway, it was too busy for our server to really pay attention to us. Bottomless mimosas were great. Only needed the one carafe between the two of us. I would return at another time."

  • "we had a group of 7 and had plenty of room at our table, everyone loved their meals and the speicality drink with the maple syrup ice cube was a huge hit"

  • "I've been back here many times. Atmosphere, food and wine list are all great. Service is friendly (a bit understaffed the day we went but still very nice). Good for big groups. No kids' menu but plenty to choose from."

  • "Very busy and popular with the younger crowd . Service was good. One of our friends had the breakfast wrap and enjoyed it. Two of us had the cheddar grits and shrimp which only had cheese grated on the top and was very salty. My husband's hamburger was average. It was extremely loud making conversation nearly impossible."

  • "After seeing an awesome deal on Living Social, I decided to treat my friend to a birthday brunch at the Hutch. I had never been there before but the menu looked great and it's a convenient location. My friends and I ended up being there for about 2 hours (and probably 10 mimosas each, oops) and it was one of the best brunches I've been to in Chicago. I will absolutely recommend Hutch to friends and will definitely be going back for brunch again soon. Special thanks to our server, Marvin! He was the greatest!"

  • "Went to Hutch for brunch with a group of 6 and the food was excellent. My only critique would be that the service was a little stingy with the bottomless mimosas and we had to keep reminding the waiter to refill our glasses."
    Dined on 2/8/2014
  • "Our waitress was unfriendly and rude. We all ordered coffee as soon as we sat down, it took an hour to get it and then no one ever came back for refills. Our drinks also took about 30 minutes to get and some were not correct. A few of us tried their version of a Bloody Mary which tasted different from your typical bloody (it was not very good), and asked to switch to bottomless mimosas and the waitress gave us attitude about it. The bottomless mimosas were hardly bottomless - we never got a refill. Our food came out cold and a few orders were not right. The food was nothing to rave about. There are plenty of wonderful brunch spots in Chicago, don't waste your time at Hutch."

  • "I just recently moved to the neighborhood and have eaten at Hutch several times. The food is consistently good. It's a bit pricey, though."

  • "Took my boyfriend there for bunch via Living Social brunch deal that was given to me as a gift. The staff was great, very attentive & even let me select another brunch cocktail at no extra cost, from what was listed on the voucher. I had a 'strawberry sparkler' with the 'traditional breakfast'. The sparkler was very refreshing & I can see myself enjoying a few at brunch in the summer in their outdoor seating. The meal was exactly what you would expect with bacon & eggs, though I have to say the bacon was amazing! My boyfriend had the 'veggie mary' with the 'steak + eggs'. He loved the meal & cleaned his plate. He was not as thrilled about the veggie mary but drank it anyways. It was a bit too much cucumber for his liking."

  • "Exceeded expectations! Great food, atmosphere and service. Of special note was the artwork of blown up images of antique hutches. Clever decor idea!"

  • "My friend and I came here for the first time a few months ago and a great meal. We were excited to come back again, but this time we only had a good meal. My friend had the salmon with a horseradish crust and said it should be removed from the menu. I had the short ribs which were really good. However, my desert, the pecan tart which was so wonderful last time, was dry and kind of tasteless this time. I hope my it was just an off night or someone new in the kitchen. Hutch has a great menu, a nice ambience and energy. I hope this neighborhood gem does not give up on quality. I'd still recommend it and I will go back, but if it's not better that will be my last,"

  • "Really good food but service could have been a lot more attentive. Problem was three large parties at the same time we were there. Ok because we had lots of catch up time with our friends, but I think I'll try to avoid large parties in the future both because of the service issue and the noise. At some point during our dinner we realized we had to shout to each other to be heard. Crazy! Trout was outstanding. My husband liked his meatloaf and our friends both had salmon, which our server said was her favorite. Really good wine suggestion."

  • "All food was delicious. Servers and everyone was super nice and helpful. It was really loud on a Saturday night, so not a go-to for a quiet romantic date. But we will def go back!"
