We went on a Wednesday night before Veteran's Day, very quiet, restaurant was not close to being full. The Mediterraen Stew was outstanding and the service was impeccible, very personable.

We made a timely reservation on line, but were somewhat aghast that we were seated outside of the main dining room in the back of the restaurant near the rear door that kept BANGING as folks went to and fro. We decided to tough it out. The oysters were fresh and tasty although they were very slow coming to the table. The wine list by the bottle was average, but by the glass selections were uninteresting at best. The service was sporadic. "Has anybody seen her"? Entrees were tasty and well prepared. Excellent cod. / Slightly overpriced overall. Disappointing.

Restaurant was nice. Bar area had a good crowd and all the booths were taken. We had a nice window table. Waiter was good; being young, he was straight to the point and no real chit chat, answered questions. Food was very good. Loved the Mediterranean Seafood Stew, swordfish was very good. The chocolate bread pudding was great. Overall experience was very good and I would definitely recommend it and go back again when I am in Kennebunkport.

The service was outstanding and the food was just as wonderful. We came here to celebrate our first anniversary and it was a great experience. The seafood stew is PHENOMENAL--the tomato pesto broth compliments the fresh scallops, mussels, clams, shrimp, and lobster tail perfectly! It was a little loud, and we were glad to have a reservation, but still a romantic atmosphere and a special place to celebrate a special occasion.

We enjoyed our food very much. Fred had the Mediterrean stew which was very similar to Cioppino. The sauce it came in was delicious. I had the tenderloin cooked perfectly and added a lobster tail. Going back tonight before we have to go home.

We have been going to Kennebunkport for a long weekend the past 14 years. We always like to make the Hurricane our last night stop. The atmosphere is great. Tables over looking the cove are the best. Food is always good. The best part of the meal for us is dessert! This place has the best sweet endings of all the places we go to on our trip. One big problem this year. When we arrived at the restaurant they did not have our reservation. I booked on line with OpenTable, received a confirmation, but we did not show up in their system. We were lucky they had room for us as it was a Saturday night.

Best baked stuffed lobster anywhere - the giant scallops on top could be their own entre! Our first visit to the Kennebunkport location after many visits to the old Ogunquit venue. The food was delicious as always. Our only concern was the service, which was a bit inattentive, possibly because some cruise ship people from Portland came in after we were seated.

We tried to find somewhere good to go in Kennebunkport and was inspired by the menu online. The lobster dishes did not disappoint. However, the dishes that were asian inspired were very disappointing. Our server was cold and not very helpful when we ordered. I would not suggest anyone go here, especially not anyone who is a foodie and is looking for a unique and delicious dining experience. It was mediocre overall.

We had heard nothing but great things about Hurricanes, so we were anxious to try it. Perhaps our expectations were raised to high. While the Oysters Rockefeller were fantastic, we found the lobster chowder and Caesar salad to be mediocre. The tower of seafood was missing the advertised crab legs, but was otherwise pretty good. The server, unfortunately, seemed to want to rush us through dinner, which marred the overall experience. We will try it again, but we were disappointed this time out.

We have found so many great restaurants in Maine and Hurricane is certainly on the list. The food is fresh, local and beautifully prepared. Our favorite on the menu was the veal chop on a bed of fresh vegetables. The service is professional and friendly and the ambiance is comfortable. Getting through the front door was a bit of a challenge because the bar area seems to be a great local favorite spot.

The food here was good, but it took us about 45 minutes to get our appetizers (lobster and Caesar salads) and then dinner followed about 20 minutes later. The food was good (not great), so I will still give it a 3 star. It was also a bit loud and crowded. I was a bit disappointed there weren't more local fish featured - instead they were featuring Alaskan sockeye salmon. Considering we spent the same amount here as we did at Mabel's Lobster Claw a few miles down the road with infinitely better service and food, I can only give this place a 3 star.

Loved Hurricane so much that we booked a reservation for the next night before we left after our first dinner. My husband had one of the best martinis he's ever had there. The ceasar salad is huge -- we should have split it. Had the oysters rockefeller the 2nd night as an appetizer & enjoyed that. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for good food & good service.
