  • "Always good. You get 12 different salads for $6.99/person with any entrée. Filled up on the salads."

  • "Great food. Sometimes service is slow, sometimes it's good. This time was a mix (our servers changed, so we had a lot of our food not ordered, some of it forgotten…)"

  • "The mushroom hummus was amazingly good. But the service was horrible. The waitresses were not friendly and had attitudes. If your are in customer service ..clients should be first"

  • "I have been to this restaurant many times and twice in the last two weeks. Both times, we added the assortment salads to our shared meal. They were super yummy, great variety, perfect for a vegetarian. On the first occasion, my friend and I shared the liver and onions. It was probably the best liver and onions I have ever had. Amazing! This week, my friend and I shared the trout. Also amazing! Service has only gotten better with time. The fact that they are on groupon is an extra bonus."

  • "My Wife and I come for the bread and hummus. The pita bread is fresh baked and has never failed to disappoint us. It is always the ABSOLUTE BEST we have ever eaten. And we have eaten a lot of different ones. It's hard to sum up, but it is simply consistently the best!"

  • "I have been going to this restaurant a few times, always for lunch. I have never had a bad experience. The food is very fresh, the portions are generous and the service very friendly."

  • "The kebobs at this place are delicious, and the sides are good except for the French fries, which are greasy. The ambiance is a little noisy for me, but the food is well worth it, and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful."

  • "good food & service, delicious hummus & fresh baked "bread", wait staff does a very good job of replenishing the courtesy & tasty small appetizers (eg, pickles, etc.); overall very enjoyable dinner."

  • "My mom and I enjoyed a delicious lunch here. The food is excellent and the portions are quite big. I would like to recommend this restaurant and be back myself. However, the parking is AWFUL!!! The restaurant is stuck in the back of a small overcrowded mini-mall with insufficient parking. Most of the spaces in the mini-mall part are 30 minutes only and some are for just the store that's in front of the spaces. The bottom level parking is a joke. Most of the parking is for employees. The was no space for me to park in the patrons area. There was no street parking spaces at 1PM either. I finally had to park in a 30 minute space and chance it. The hostess told me that they don't ticket cars. Nice to know after that frustrating parking search!"

  • "Usually I have good service here, but this last trip there had quite poor service. It was a bit slow and they rarely refilled our bread with fresh bread"

  • "Noisy. Horrible service. Food marginal, at best. Ordered the 10 mini salads for $9.99 with a friend. One of the salads was just chopped jalapeno peppers which we weren't warned of and my friend swallowed a mouthful and couldn't stop choking! Most other salads were poor quality."

  • "A very tasty lunch. Shared hummus with mushrooms ,a falafel plate and an Israeli salad with a friend. Everything was delicious as was the pita bread. and so reasonable. Ambiance is zilch but the waiters were helpful. A good, casual neighborhood spot for lunch."

  • "The food is reliable and very tasty. Love the kabobs and the salads! The service however could use some improvement. Not the friendliest place to eat."

  • "we came there 15 min earlier than our reservation. they told us that we will be seated at our reservation time. however, it took them 40 min to seat us. they had seated people before us and they did not have a reservation. thus, there is no point to make a reservation."

  • "Excellent meals, spotty service. It seemed likeee were seated in "no servers land" but we did get service from many of the staff who were all very friendly. The hummus quite logically is phenomenal as is the Israeli salad. The chicken breast skewers were moist, flavorful and delicious. We always love this place and will return."

  • "We just love the food at the Hummus Bar and Grill. This is a middle eastern Israeli restaurant specializing in hummus, tabouli, falafel and wonderful freshly baked bread. The food is the main attraction here. We have always eaten outdoors since the noise level inside is so high its hard to have a conversation. Eating outdoors is mostly in the parking lot/drive way of a small shopping center. With this said, the food is delicious and the service is attentive."

  • "Once I actually found it (nestled in the back corner of a little mall)-I was pleasantly surprised to find this bustling comfortable authentic Middle Eastern cafe. Everyone I encountered was friendly and professional & the food was scrumptious I will definitely be going back,..soon !"

  • "So glad we had reservations. The Hummus Bar & Grill was really busy. The food is always excellent. We took out of town guests. We all had a great dinner and the servers and manager were very courteous and helpful with so much bustle going on. Everyone pitched in to make it a warm and friendly atmosphere."

  • "Chicken kebobs were tasty but the vegetables were a bit overcooked. Dry rice."

  • "It was good that we had a groupon. The menu is a bit expensive, but it is authentic Israeli cuisine. Good choices and casual atmosphere."

  • "Great hummus and food + service. Prices are also very reasonable. Large portions too"

  • "We always enjoy dining here, the food is fresh and of good quality. They make the best Israeli salad and allow you to have it the way you like, for me that's without onions. I truly appreciate not having to pick out the things I don't like! Of course their hummus is delicious, and they offer many variations. The chicken breast skewers I had this time were moist & flavorful. The noise factor was a challenge for my mother in law since she has hearing aids & it is quite loud in there."

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our hummus and pita (enormous, tasty pita), a Romanian skewer and a lamb skewer. The Israeli salad side was so-so (not as fresh as I'd like, a little oily), but the fries were tasty (skin on), and the red cabbage was good. The steamed vegetables are mediocre - order something else as a side. Our waiter should have warned us that a dinner for one would have been more than enough for the two of us. The portions are huge. We asked more than once for advice on the food, explained we'd never been there before, and all he said was "I don't know how much you eat." We had enough for another meal when we left, having ordered an appetizer of hummus and pita, and two full dinners, each with 2 sides. Goldstar beer is great!"

  • "Consistently terrific -- I have friends who are happy to drive from Los Feliz to Tarzana during rush hour; now, that's true love!"

  • "Fabulous dining experience and the food was delicious!"

  • "THE BEST HUMMUS I EVER TASTED!!!!! SALAD WAS SUPBERB!!!! BUT THE SERVICE WAS INCREDIBLE. Going back next week with girlfriends!"
    Dined on 7/16/2012
  • "The hummus itself is nothing to brag about. The service is terrible; the servers stand together and talk the whole time without acknowledging the customer. It made the experience awful."
    Dined on 6/30/2012
  • "The food was really really good. Loved everything we had but the fries (cold and soggy). We had hummus, falafel and skewers. The service is NOT attentive but nice. Drinks don't get refilled without asking nor the most delicous bread - but if you ask you get. the food comes out in a very odd manner -we had the sides for our skewers before the falafel which we had planned to have as an appetizer with the hummus. We actually thought we weren't getting the falafel. The staff is more focused on each other and their friends who come in. I know this doesn't sound great - but if we find ourselves in the neighborhood again we'll go back. The meal was good. We skipped dessert - had to ask for the menu - no one recommended anything"
