In addition to a seasonal al a carte brunch and dinner menus, the “Hult’s Experience” offers themed tasting menus titled: Land, Air, Water & Earth. These unique themes offer Red Meat (Land), Poultry (Air), Fish (Water) and Vegetarian (Earth) three course meals, made from the freshest ingredients.   • "Excellent meal. We went for our anniversary and wanted to try someplace new. The food and the service were absolutely wonderful. The owner introduced himself and was very gracious. My husband is very particular about steak and said his ribeye was one of the best steaks he ever had! We will definitely be going back!"

  • "Definitely not what I had expected. From the time to arrival, we waited a good 45-50 min to be seated. We repeatedly had to remind the hostess that we were ready for our table. The AC wasnt working so it was extremely hot and stuffy. Then, while waiting for the table, we sit ourselves at the bar, hoping to at least get a mimosa, however, of the 3 people behind the bar, not one acknowledged us. We had to finally flag them down to service us. We finally get our table...horrible tasteless bland food and to top it off, we were supposed to have bottomless mimosas, we had to again flag them down to get refills, and then they ran out of champagne!"

  • "Had noon reservations and ended up being seated closer to 12:15. Hostess, busboy, and server all noted that they were understaffed. Food took a while to arrive and was marginal given the price. Everyone was friendly and apologetic but won't be back anytime soon."

After an hour of waiting for our order to arrive in a half empty restaurant and no response from the staff, we decided to up and leave before our order arrived to find another place. The owner was happy to show off a new mural that was recently installed. She should be so enthusiastic about customer service. I rated the food as good although we didn't actually get any."

  • "Went on Groupon weekend (bad decision, Hult's wasn't ready for it). Reservations - 11:30....wasn't seated until 12! There were empty tables in the place but no one to bus and prep them. Food didn't arrive until 12:40...and the order was wrong - the chef immediately corrected the server's oversight. Completely understaffed. AND the bill was tabulated wrong - calculating sales tax at 10.8% and then charging sales tax on the sales tax! We paid the overcharge because we just wanted to get out. The food was good but not good enough to want to deal with the service. For the price point, there are much better experiences w/in walking distance. This is a pass. I can't give a no star for service...I would if I could."

  • "Third time to this restaurant hoping they had improved but greatly disappointed. The salads were very good, service was slow. The main entries were very disappointing, over cooked, dry, and tasteless. We did not appreciate comments made by the waitress and owner when we complained. Definitely not returning even if it was "free"."

  • "Every time something was brought to the table, a extended explanation had to be given. At a business dinner you really don't want to be bothered with all that. At one point during some intense discussions the owner barges in to introduce himself. Nice enough guy, but not a great place for a quiet business dinner. After ordering Halibut I was informed 60 seconds prior to food delivery they miscounted the halibut and run out... and I was getting Sea bass instead. Not like I really had a choice."

  • "This was our second time at this new restaurant. The first experience was great!! I feel as if they switched chefs or something. There were 6 of us and we ordered the same things we that we had before. Right off the bat, the meals looked and were presented differently than we had experienced the first visit. We were there for Sunday brunch both times. The eggs benedict was lukewarm, the muffin under it was not even toasted, and the salmon was a thin sliver. The chicken and waffles were terrible and the presentation looked even worse. Tender chicken breast was now unappetizing dark meat plopped on the plate. We will not return."

  • "We went to celebrate our 24th wedding Anniv. But none of the staff ever mentioned our special celebration.. Very disappointing. The food overall was ok, but tiny servings. We purchased the 5 course dinner and wine pairing... $200 for two people. The cream of "anise" soup seemed watered down and we could not detect any anise. Seemed more like a bland cream of mushroom. My wife's tuna tartar was very good. My pork belly appetizer was inedible; two chunks of fatty pork belly that I could not cut through with a knife. My pork tenderloin was very good, albeit small. My wife's salmon was also good but the 2 inch square fillet was ridiculous. Unbelievably, they charged us $2 for 2 rolls after we spent $200... Wow!! Probably not going back."

  • "Do not eat here for brunch. I should have known it would not be good when we talked in at 11:00am and the place was empty. Literally we were the first table. My second sign was that the bartender was waiting on us and she didn't know what a Bellini was.I asked for salt and they brought out three options with gain sizes so big they over power the food. Service was slow and the food is awful and expensive. For $70 we got two mimosas, two eggs Benedict, and side of waffle. That's it. This place is trying WAY too hard to be high end, but the food does not stand up. They need to go back to basics and take focus off the atmosphere and put it on the food."

The other four courses were wonderful, though. We also tried the optional wine pairings, which were all very nice & went perfectly with all five courses. We will definitely be going back."

  • "We live in Los Gatos so my wife and u thought we would try it out. Here is what we thought. Pros- 1 very nice ambience. Better than it looked before 2, our waiter (Cliff) was friendly and attentative. Cons- 1. Portions are very very small 2, way over prices. $50 for a pre slice 4 oz ribeye? $18 for a glass of wine! 3, food was far from exceptional. Even the back and cheese was bland. Too many better choices in Los Gatis to consider going back."

  • "What an incredible restaurant! Hult's boasts one of (if not 'the') most delicious menus I have ever tasted. Made from seasonal and mostly local items, the meals are fresh, flavorful, unique, and 100% satisfying. The small portions allow for you to try a handful of dishes without the chance of having leftovers to waste... But who wouldn't finish anything Hult's serves?! The friendly owners meander through the dining area and personally welcome you, inquiring how you're enjoying your experience. The staff is swift and friendy as well, and incredibly knowledgable regarding everything on the menu and wine list. Hult's is definitely the gem of Los Gatos!"

  • "Brought my parents to Hults for a birthday lunch on Sunday, staff was terrific, polite, timely and friendly. Food was good, not great, chicken and waffles ....chicken very good waffles not so much, mushy and undercooked. Rest of the plates were good. Four people, no cocktails and $75.00 + tip....really? Very expensive for brunch/breakfast with no alcohol. Will try once more and be more aware of pricing on menu."

  • "This was our second trip to Hult's. The first was right after they opened and we had a pretty poor experience, the food was good but the wait times for the food was horrible. June 21st was a very quiet Saturday night and the restaurant was only about half full so you would expect things to be running pretty smoothly. We had half off drinks and apps in the bar. The ceviche was very bland. It really needed some seasoning. For dinner, our food was very tasty like the first time, but they still are having issues with delivery. Our food was barely warm. When we informed our server, she did not ask if she could get it warmed up for us or anything, but she was great otherwise. Good food, but Hult's needs to get their timing perfected."

  • "Staff was friendly but service was lacking. waited at least 10mins for waitress to stop by, & she wanted to take our drink orders but we hadn't gotten a drink menu, so she brought one, but then didn't come back again for another 15mins & only after we flagged her down at which point she forgot we had never gotten to order drinks & wanted to take our food order. I wanted to order a pre-dinner drink & wanted to be sure I had time to drink it before my dinner came out & have wine with dinner. She assured me there would be time & then it took so long to get my drink that it came out at the exact same time as dinner. amuse bouche was inedible, Salad had wilted lettuce, waitress said mac & cheese is the best thing on menu but was only so so"

  • "We were greeted warmly at the door by the owner and promptly seated at a window table, for a view of Hwy 9. Our server, Ann, always approached our table with a smile on her face, whether taking an order , giving samples of delightful beverages, or checking to see if we needed anything. The menu was not large and we found that quality was what the restaurant wanted to offer, not quantity. The octopus and tuna tartar appetizers were delicious and well seasoned as were the entrees of Halibut and pork loin. The cappuccino was as good as any found in Italy, a nice surprise. The ménage a tois dessert was good, but would try something different next time."

  • "We went to this restaurant based on a friend's recommendation. There were five of us and from the time we arrived, we enjoyed every aspect of the restaurant. The staff were welcoming and attentive. Nice level of conversation going on in the restaurant yet we could carry on a conversation without having to yell at each other. From the first course to dessert, we all loved what we ordered and the presentation of each course was beautiful. We are all looking forward to coming here again. I loved how they got their fruits and vegetables from the Farmer's Market."

  • "I have been here few times and this last visit, service was good. The food was tasty, but my scallops were dry, tough and a bit stringy. They tasted great, just a bit overcooked. I will definitely be coming again, especially since I live less than a block away. The cocktails were yummy and everyone was very friendly. I have high hopes for this place and hope they can make it work at this location that has proved difficult for other restaurants."

  • "We had a lovely meal on a week night at Hult's. The restaurant has been beautifully decorated, and sound from neighboring tables didn't carry. I am not a big fan of fried chicken and ribs, grits, and other southern favorites. But Hult's, although it does have all of the above on the menu, has a much fresher, lighter view of them. We started with some fish appetizers, the carpaccio and the octopus. Both were delicious, nicely spiced. My husband tried the ribs, which were thick and meaty. He loves ribs, and though these weren't "traditional", he was very happy. The fish and scallop our guest and I had were also well-prepared and delicious. Dessert was disappointing; the chocolate trio was mostly white chocolate, the crumble was mushy."

  • "It was our first time at Hults. We went for the $5 happy hour menu. My husband and I sat at the bar and ordered all 5 of the happy hour items as well as some of their special cocktails. Great time, beautiful and classic ambiance, and wonderful conversation with the owner. We will definitely return for dinner one day and bring friends. It is a positive addition to Los Gatos, no doubt about it."

  • "The menu sounds wonderful, but the execution is a little off, which normally wouldnt be so bad, but for the price you pay, I expected more. I had a Hamachi appetizer that tasted great, but all you could taste was the sauce and topping, the hamachi was sliced so thin (which is nice) but there was so little, that its taste was completely lost. I had the diver scallops for dinner which were nicely done, but 3 scallops for $28? And an extra $6 for 6 asparagus spears? The service was great and the ambience is nice, but I dont think the reach the level of excellence to justify the prices and small portions."

  • "This was the first visit by my wife and me to Hult's. We now know what they mean by "casual and upscale." Casual refers to the form of dress at dinnertime: shorts and short sleeve shirts were common; no ties or jackets. Upscale refers to the presentation of the food: specialty dishes of somewhat unique style. My wife liked it all very much. I would have like larger portions, some sourdough bread, and some soup."

  • "This is our second dinner at Hult's and it was awesome again. Their 3-course tasting menu is fun and has exceeded expectations both times. Choose Water (seafood), Land (red meat), Air (Poultry), or Earth (vegetarian) and the rest is chef's choice. They have been very accommodating allergies while serving an equally delish alternative to mushrooms (for instance). Add the paired winetasting and the flavors abound! Can't wait to try the Summer menu. My understanding from others was that service was a bit sketch at the very beginning when they opened but we have had nothing but great service and food in 2014. Would recommend to foodies--salmon that MELTS in your mouth and creative flavor combos (watermelon with ahi for instance)."

  • "This was our second dinner at Hult's and once again we had delicious food served by attentive, courteous servers who all wished my wife a happy birthday when we came in and again when we were seated. My wife had the salmon on a bed of kale and Swiss chard with the shredded potato puffs and I had the risotto and a side of baby carrots. To say the food is delicious is an understatement. It's more an ambrosia of fantastic flavors and textures made with a culinary expertise that affects not just your taste buds but your mood and well-being. You simply cannot eat this food and feel anything but happy and satisfied. We will most certainly be going back to try enough different selections until we have enjoyed the entire menu!"

  • "Went to Hult's with our friends. One of us had the fixed price menu, the other 3 had entrees, and we shared an appetizer. The entrees (Chicken Saltimboca, Pork Loin) were great and ample portions. The fixed price menu was more than enough and in fact we shared the dessert and the appetizer, along with the other appetizer. We got the wine pairing with the fixed price menu; I wouldn't do that again, I would just bring a bottle of wine. It was fun tasting the different wines, but wasn't worth the $20 IMO. Overall, great food, nice ambience, decent prices. We will go back."
