Dinner and service was excellent. First time customers and we loved it. Cliff was great in the service area. Alex ( owner) came by to thank us for dining and make sure we were good on everything. Chef actually delivered the complimentary appetizer and took the time to explain it to us. It's not an inexpensive meal. But it sure was great, food was wonderful and presented well and the place wasn't too noisy even though most tables were full on a Tues evening. Even though we brought our own bottle of special wine, Cliff was attentive in not pouring too much every time he came by. In other places, staff sometimes keep filling the glasses more than enough to help empty that bottle too soon. That did not happen. We'll be back soon. candy

Duck was excellent. Wagyu steak was a big disappointment. Sauces were bland. Fries and potato puree were excellent but much too small. Had a very tasty Strawberry & Watermelon soup, but no bread or crackers. Service was adequate, but not attentive enough. A bit over priced because everything is a la carte. Still, we might go back at some time.

Service was very nice and atmosphere is pleasant. Food looks gorgeous but small portions, not as flavorful as we'd expected, and pretty pricey for us. We ordered 1 starter, 2 entrees, and 1 side dish - no alcohol and the bill still came to $81.00. We were lucky to have been given a $50.00 gift certificate to try this restaurant but without it we would have felt the cost was quite high for what we were served. However they were very nice to give us 2 complimentary glasses of sparkling champagne in celebration of our Anniversary so that was quite thoughtful. I doubt we will go to this restaurant again - there are so many great and reasonable restaurants in Los Gatos with many to choose from where you get more great food for money spent.

This is a nice place with an excellent staff and pretty good food, great wine list. Does fall short in ambiance. Too wide open, tables too small and noise level too high. Potential to succeed with an interior change. Dimmer lighting, booths, larger tables.

Was impressed and pleasantly surprised with our dining experience at Hult's! It was VERY good; great ambiance with high quality food. Love the added class with a "taste from the chef" before our meal and the owner interacting with diners by delivery entrees or dessert. Awesome app selection, hard to pick and both entries... OUTSTANDING filet and duck! Can't go wrong!

The meal started out poorly when we started with the shrimp appetizer - the shrimp was raw. We are not talking a little undercooked. The shrimp was actually completely raw. The entrees were also awful. I had the Fish of the day - California Halibut. It was slightly over cooked but the real problem was the excessive saltiness from the seasoning. It ruined the fish. My husband ordered the Wagyu ribeye medium. When it came, it was medium rare - almost rare. Given our experience so far, my husband didn't return his entree because we didn't have confidence the kitchen would get it right. Given our experience, we will not be returning to Hult's

My wife and I love to cook, and to eat, and have eaten several times at Manresa... We found Hult's by googling "farm to table" ; our experience there was absolutely great ! We did the 5 course tasting menu, of which you have four choices ~ land, water, air, and earth.. What a great idea ! We had land, and water, and each dish was creative, expertly done, and fun... I look forward to eating there again soon ;the owners are hands-on, and truly seem intersted in creating a great dining experience for all of their patrons... Plus, chicken and waffles for sunday brunch... ! I know, really ?

This was our third visit to Hults. We found that everything was even more to our liking. The gentleman who waited on us was close to ideal. He was prompt, helpful and nice without being stuffy and overdoing his job. I am very fond of scallops. I found myself saying to my lady, " I think this is the best plate of scallops I have had ". The biggest problem with this restaurant is the parking. We had to walk about two city blocks. But parking is the problem that comes with Los Gatos and it's popularity. We have moved Hult's up to Outstanding in "Overall"!

My husband and I have been meaning to try Hults and was pleasantly surprised to learn they had a tasting menu along with a wine pairing for additional cost. Food was great, attentive and knowledgable staff. Our only complaint was that the courses were a bit rushed. We had an out of country visitor and talked a lot which meant we were eating at a slower pace - the pace of food and wine were not adjusted to our pace and we needed up stacking things at the table. Defeated the purpose of a wine pairing. Despite our request as well, we were not given a list of the wines we were tasting which would have been nice.

wonderful place for a special evening - my wife and I shared the octopus starter, small but tasted incredible and their beet/goat cheese salad (excellent). I ordered the pasta, which was overcooked (average) but my wife had the scallops which were to die for. The chocolate dessert is now my global standard for how good chocolate should taste in a dessert. Server was absolutely spot on and did a wonderful job. Overall, very good and we'd go back again.

We had a wonderful dining experience at Hults with the new chef in the kitchen and the owner there to make everyone feel welcome. The presentation and flavor of each course was outstanding and the only reasons I did not check Hults as a neighborhood gem is the European size of portions and high price point. We will go back for special occasions.

We chose the 'Experience' menu, 5 courses paired with wine. The food & wine were excellent. However, the rush was on. We're barely through a course, and 1/2 through the wine, and here comes the next. We had to specifically ask for them to slow down so we could enjoy and socialize. Restaurant was only 1/2 full, no reason for this. Go and enjoy the food, but open the conversation with "We would like to take our time dining".

Every part of our meal was impressive. The amuse bouche was clean and bright. Heirloom tomato salad was great and the umi crusted escolar was just amazing. A few glitches trying to get cocktails from the bar but the wine list and service more than made up for it. We will definitely return. Restaurant was great about adjusting our reservation to accommodate two more guests. Love a restaurant that has a noise level where you can still have a conversation over dinner.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2011

The caprese salad was made with thinly sliced no flavor tomatoes that had been chilled in the fridge all day. The mozzarella was grocery-store low fat cheese balls. The presentation was flat and uninteresting. Mostly the dish lacked all of the flavors that you come to expect from summer tomatoes, basil and cheese. Very sad. The main dish of pork loin came barely cooked. It was a confusing mess of meat and sauce. The restaurant offered no bread, only a raw salmon "amouse bouche". If dinner had come more quickly than almost an hour after ordering, then it would have made sense. The bread would have really helped to pass the time.

After an evening at Wine Bar 107 at Testarossa, my husband and I wanted to grab dinner before heading home so we called to see if Hult's could squeeze us in and they could! We were treated like royalty. A friendly greeting when we checked in and a nice table by the window. We started off with oysters, and then a little amuse-bouche from the chef. I had a great roasted pork tenderloin and my husband had a nice piece of fresh striped bass. We finished the night with great desserts - my husband had the chocolate trio and I had a fabulous creme brûlée. Portions were just right. We left satisfied but not stuffed. A nice touch is that the owner Alex Hult came by to personally see how we were doing.

My wife and I have now gone to Hult's at least 8 times since it has opened. Alex is doing everything he can to continually improve anything and everything to insure that everyone enjoy themselves while they are there and that the meal that they have will be delicious and enjoyable. I had the Sea Bass special and my wife had the scallops and they were both incredible. They did a great job with the whole theme of the interior decorating, very crisp and very relaxing appearance. Alex, the owner, goes to every table every night to ask everyone how are they doing and is the meal that they chose as good as they hoped it would be. Give Hult's a try if you haven't been there before, you won't regret it.

What is not to enjoy. We were greeted by Cliff a really "nice" guy it all went up hill from there. We opted for the ala cart side of the menu but were tempted by the tasting menu. My wife had the beet salad which she described as superb. I had the shrimp and found it close to a meal in itself. My wife had the pork and I had the duck. Both were wonderful. We also ordered sides of carrots and asparagus. My wife polished off the carrots and I did my best with the asparagus. Both were roasted and served on mini frying pans. Alas we had no room for the wonderful desserts. It was our 51 wedding anniversary so the evening could not have been better.

I had a three-hour dining experience at Hult's last weekend and loved every bite. The octopus and oyster appetizers were incredible. As for main dishes, the Rib-eye is not to be missed. My friend also had the fish... I think it was called escalar? It was also amazing. We topped it off with lots of wine and desert. The service was excellent ... the owner actually waited on us, which was fun. He was very passionate about farm fresh, local food and it definitely showed in the quality and flavor of all our dishes. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others and we will be back for sure!

My husband and I went to Hult's with another couple and although the location seems a bit more coffee shop like on the outside, being right on the corner of the main road in town, the interior was warn and welcoming. We were seated in the back dining area away from the busier front room which was nice so our group could talk. We each ordered the three course themed dinners and all were equally impressed. Not only was the service perfect, we even had the owner helping us, but the food was wonderful. Everything was cooked perfectly and the octopus appetizer was quite memorable. We will definitely visit again.

The food was awesome, especially the fish and chicken dishes, as well as the appetizers, beet salad for one should definitely be tried. And the sides were also excellent, mac and cheese and french fries, to name a couple. The wine selection was excellent as well, especially for by the glass, which you usually don't see. The dessert, especially the chocolate cake with milkshake was superb. The one negative was the service, which could have been better.

Hult's is on its way to greatness ~ not quite there yet, but figuring it out. The first time I ate there, we tried the Hult's experience. This is a 5-course meal where you just pick the category (land, air, water, or earth) for beef/pork/lamb, poultry, fish & seafood, or vegetarian; and the chef prepares his surprises. It's a great way to go (especially if you also purchase the wine pairings) for the adventurous; but four of the courses were amazing and one was surprisingly bland. This time we tried a la carte, and the food was excellent but portions were inconsistent. Most were ample, but my daughter's entree was 3 scallops (for $28 that seemed pretty skimpy), and my carrot puree was literally just an orange smear on my plate.

Our special occasion was handled well by the staff, but service was turned over to other servers when we did not choose the Tasting menu item which was very expensive. Normally we dress in a dressy casual manner. We were surprised to discover that we were overdressed. The entres, though tasty were meager portions for dinner. The appetizer that we shared was quite lovely. The Manhatten was appreciated. One dessert was quite good, the other somewhat disappointing.

Definitely not what I had expected. From the time to arrival, we waited a good 45-50 min to be seated. We repeatedly had to remind the hostess that we were ready for our table. The AC wasnt working so it was extremely hot and stuffy. Then, while waiting for the table, we sit ourselves at the bar, hoping to at least get a mimosa, however, of the 3 people behind the bar, not one acknowledged us. We had to finally flag them down to service us. We finally get our table...horrible tasteless bland food and to top it off, we were supposed to have bottomless mimosas, we had to again flag them down to get refills, and then they ran out of champagne!

After an hour of waiting for our order to arrive in a half empty restaurant and no response from the staff, we decided to up and leave before our order arrived to find another place. The owner was happy to show off a new mural that was recently installed. She should be so enthusiastic about customer service. I rated the food as good although we didn't actually get any.

Went on Groupon weekend (bad decision, Hult's wasn't ready for it). Reservations - 11:30....wasn't seated until 12! There were empty tables in the place but no one to bus and prep them. Food didn't arrive until 12:40...and the order was wrong - the chef immediately corrected the server's oversight. Completely understaffed. AND the bill was tabulated wrong - calculating sales tax at 10.8% and then charging sales tax on the sales tax! We paid the overcharge because we just wanted to get out. The food was good but not good enough to want to deal with the service. For the price point, there are much better experiences w/in walking distance. This is a pass. I can't give a no star for service...I would if I could.

Third time to this restaurant hoping they had improved but greatly disappointed. The salads were very good, service was slow. The main entries were very disappointing, over cooked, dry, and tasteless. We did not appreciate comments made by the waitress and owner when we complained. Definitely not returning even if it was "free".

This restaurant is such a gem. Everything was great! Everything. I particularly LOVED the way they do not OVER SALT. They seem to be quite aware of nutrition. I would come back many times. Thank you. Jane
