  • "We planned a special celebration for some friends and unfortunately, we were disappointed with the level of service. We have been to Hugo's several times and loved everything about it. This time we had to chase down the waiter to place our drink order and he did not follow up after we received our order. We were very disappointed with the poor service. We expected the same level or better than previous visits."

  • "I went to Hugo's with a group of 6 for a girlfriends birthday recently and left under-impressed. None of us had been there before and had heard good things about the food so we wanted to give it a try. The food was good - nothing that blew me away - but good. However was I was really kinda of dissipointed in the service. Our waiter was not super attentive and not the most respectful. I put that I would go to Hugo's again because I would give them another try if someone wanted to go there, but I am certainly in no hurry."

  • "Delightful and memorable. Our waiter was knowledgeable and attentive. He knew the menu well and answered all our questions. We started out trying frog legs sauteed in butter and garlic. They were tender and flavorful, no disappointment here. Our main courses were Shrimp DeJonghe, in a garlic & white wine sauce w/basmati rice, King Crab stuffed shrimp served w/basmati rice & lemon butter & jumbo crab cakes w/spicy cole slaw & pink mayo. There were about 8 shrimp in each entree, very succulent with great flavor. The crab cakes were truly delectable, with a lot of tender crab, very little filler & the spicy slaw & mayo added just the right amount of kick to the cakes."

  • "Generally Hugo's is an A! Server wasn't able to answer questions on different fish entrees on menu. I asked specifically what the flavor was, and he wasn't able to tell me other than reading the menu directly to me. My fish seemed overcooked. Salad & bread was delicious as always. Desserts were average. I have eaten at Hugo's about a dozen times in Naperville. This was the only time that I can remember that service was lacking, as well as our meals. We are a family of 4, and everyone's meal was average this specific day. I will visit Hugo's again since we had only one bad experience."

  • "The meal was fantastic all around. We started with the a handful of oysters, for me, & the Tuna Poke, both of which were outstanding. She then had the house & I went with roasted beets salads, which were both very good. For the entrées she went with crab cakes & I went with the sea bass, a house specialty, & they were the stars of the show. The crab cakes were virtually all crab meat, with very little binder/filling, & very tender. The sea bass was phenomenal. Miso marinated so it was super light & flaky,b& almost melted into your mouth. We finished with the key lime pie. Service was very attentive, even though the server was a little uppity, which you'd expect in Naperville. All in all it was a great meal with great service."

  • "Hugo's is a favorite for us but needs to work on the noise. We were seated at a table and carrying on a conversation was next to impossible. Plus seating is very tight unless you are in one of the booths. If there is a musician in the bar make sure you are seated well in the back of the restaurant."

Restaurant week was great as was service the drinks were also excellent and also both special appetizers taking the desserts home was a special bonus as the dinner was especially filling the steak was not up to par. It was stringy and difficult to eat the waitress did offer to replace it bit by them it was partially eaten. The shrimp And scallop was good and the wedge salads were very hood"

  • "Hugo's Frog Bar in Naperville is outstanding! Always the best steaks cooked as ordered. They also serve the best potatoes (mashed are particularly flavorful). Hugo's also has an unbelievably rich and decadent flourless chocolate cake (a rare find!) that makes the perfect ending to a great meal. An excellent place for a romantic dinner, to celebrate a special occasion, or just a lovely dinner out. The service is excellent, too!"

  • "New vegetable is amazing, roasted Brussels sprouts with bacon, yum, outside or inside this is a great place to dine in Naperville, itself a great town. I did not care for the music that they played. Music should add not distract or detract, and it was too loud as well. I live in the neighborhood and always enjoy taking my family to Hugo's for special occasions. This time I was entertaining a client. We had the lamb chops, too skimpy for me, next time I will stick with the steak."

  • "Been to Hugo's several times in Naperville and it has never disappointed. I prefer sitting in the bar and listening to the lounge singer on weekend nights. There is also music and a more casual feel outside in the summer. For a more quiet setting the dining room is very nice. Servers are always great and knowledgeable. You aren't rushed through dinner. Food is very good, haven't had a bad meal yet. Girlfriend loves the tuna like appetizer."

  • "Valet parking or park in lots or tower on the same block. Nice wine selection. Great attentive wait staff. Wonderful bread basket with a variety of breads to choose from. The Filet Mignon Sliders on a delicious little bun are so tender & flavorful (about $5 each). Very good wedge salad. All six people in our party enjoyed their meals. We will be back soon."

  • "We have dined at Hugo's many times. Usually with good results. On this dinner occasion the service was very, very slow, the food was spotty. Lobster role needs more zing. Key Lime pie needed some more lime to be tasted. Clam chowder, bread, lettuce wedges and filet sliders good as usual. The waiter totally mixed up two couples individual checks with the wrong items charged per couple. He offered to fix the checks, but we declined to wait around and sort things out. Really noisy, some near screaming going on. Not sure we want to do dinner here again, at least for a while."

  • "I have never been to Hugo's that I didnt come out totally sad that the experience was over. We took our niece there who was visiting from Nashville. We sat in the elevator car, which was fun. We had calamari and frog legs to start. Both melted in your mouth. I have had so much rubbery calamari - Hugo knows how to do it! The special was Sea Bass. My husband and niece had it, and I got to have a taste. It was pure heaven. I had to have my crab legs - perfectly cooked and sliding right out of the shells............ And of course, we had to have crab mac and cheese. Besides the food, the service is always top notch. Stacy Washington took care of us like we were the only customers in the place. She's the best!"

  • "The reason to keep going back to Hugo's is for the food. We endure the noisy environment. Some of our favorites for lunch are the sliders (particularly the tenderloin sliders), frog legs, and fish tacos. We would expect the bar area to be noisy but wish four of us could have a conversation in the restaurant. The staff is friendly and accommodating."

  • "We had an amazing time @ Hugo's celebrating a friend And my new jobs! I do not eat seafood due to allergies, however the waiter was able to give me some seafood alternatives! The food was amazing, the drinks were top notch and the ambience was calm, adult-like and had a lot of charm! The wait staff were very attentive and knew the description of the menu items! We will definitely make Hugos a favorite on our delicious dining list! The only thing we were sad about was we came on a night where the live music was not being played! The waiter gave us the days for the piano bar, and we will definitely make it back on one of those nights!"
