  • "The Mac and cheese was awesome! But the rest left a lot to be desired. The steak I got was overpriced and not as good as cheaper steaks that I've gotten. The waitress came up and touched my back EVERY TIME she came up to our table. I am NOT a person who likes people I don't know touching them and it was off-putting. I ordered my steak medium-rare and when it came out it was medium or a little more. If' I'm paying $42 for a filet, it better be cooked right! Over-all my experience was fair. I probably won't go back."

  • "I met a friend at the casino and we decided to have dinner here. Wow, they have quite the menu. Most everything is a very large portion and the price is large too. We only wanted sandwiches/salad/soup, but with a drink it still was $50 each. I'm not sure the location fits the high prices. Because we did not order an expensive meal, I felt they were rushing us out. Not sure that I will return."

  • "I took my sister here to celebrate her birthday and it was a food celebration for the both of us. The spicy tuna tartar was an excellent beginning. My sister followed with the lobster bisque which was so smooth and creamy. I had the waygou carpacchio which was outstanding. My sister had the filet and I chose the medallions with crab hollandaise. My entree was to die for but my sister wasn't impressed with her filet and preferred my meal. Her filet wasn't bad just not as flavorful as my medallions. We mentioned this to the waiter and to our surprise received a complimentary dessert. Overall excellent food and service even though a bit pricey. I'll definitely be back."

  • "We went to Hugo's for my birthday and it was very good. It's a little on the expensive side, so I would only go for special occasions. We went on a Tuesday night, but the place was packed! That was surprising, but not bothersome. I noticed that a waiter at another table brought the meat selections to the diners, but our waiter did not do that. It was a good thing that we knew what we wanted! The service is pretty good, especially the wait staff. The guy who cleared our table was very good and attentive. Also, when my husband's lamb wasn't cooked as much as he had requested, the manager came over and made sure that he were satisfied. All in all, I was happy with my birthday meal!"

  • "The restaurant and bar were packed. We had reservations and still had to wait 30 minutes for the table in the crowded bar. Somewhat understandable given the crowd and expected for an upscale place with a bar. However, I did say I was displeased with the wait and we were treated to the greatest appetizer I have ever had on the house. The steaks were slightly above average but not great as far as a Chicago steakhouse goes. However, we find that the steaks at suburban steakhouses are far inferior. I will say the sides and appetizers we ate had impeccable flavor. The service was great as they humored my annoying personality that night and were very attentive."

  • "This was going to be a birthday dinner and we asked if they had stone crab claws in the comment section of the reservation. Expected to hear whether they did or not. No reply. So when we got there there were no crab claws of any kind. So not so good for a birthday dinner. Also they forgot to note that we were there and had to get an email from OpenTable asking why we didn't honor the reservation. Which we did. Not a big deal but probably would have tried another restaurant so that birthday girl could have crab claws."

  • "The food and service is excellent! I would recommend the Filet Mignon Sliders or any of the Steaks. The Steaks are so tender and flavorful. My friends and family love coming here for the food and service. The restaurant is always clean and I usually always get a table or booth. If it is a holiday, I would recommend making reservations. If you have to wait, the wait is not long and you can always wait in the bar area which has nice tables. The prices are reasonable to high, but the food is excellent and the side dishes are built for two people, but you can opt for half a side dish if you prefer."

Service is attentive but never intrusive (manager sometimes comes by to ask about your dinner). Great variety of wine and cocktails; always a good time! We enjoy coming here and are never disappointed."

  • "If you want to enjoy a meal WITH conversation, do NOT go to Hugo's Frog Bar at the River's Casino. The food is good, so if you like to dine alone or you're ok with not speaking to the person you're with, you might enjoy it. But if you want to have a conversation with the person you're with, GO ELSEWHERE. It's not just that the noise level is very very high, but in my most recent experience, a party of 13 men were seated so close to our booth, one man stood to talk to the others, and his rear end was right up to our table top. Our waitress did not return once the large group arrived (we had a reservation weeks in advance). We had to scoot sideways to get out of the booth, and when we tried to pay our bill at the bar were told we could not."
