  • "First, our waiter was fantastic!!!! The food was very good although servings were quite small. The combination crab cake, scallops, and shrimp consisted of 1 crab cake, 1 scallop, and 2 shrimp. For the price of the dinner another scallop and shrimp would have been nice. We were not rushed and like I said our waiter was terrific (so sorry I can't remember his name) Our dinner was on Monday, March 31, 2014."

  • "The food was fantastic! The steak was cooked EXACTLY to order. The fish was moist and tender. The homemade potato chips were crisp and yummy! All of the wait staff were friendly, polite and very efficient. Next time I'm in the area I will definitely stop back in!"

  • "Sunday, 5:15; our young waiter was quick and courteous. We were started off with their famous pop overs, with fresh strawberry butter. We went with the Restaurant Week 3-course price-fixe; our appetizers were ok, for entree we choose the sliced sirloin; what we received was disappointing for a $30 meal; a small, thin steak, overcooked and covered with grilled peppers, onions, and mushrooms (which we very good). the vegetable was bland, boiled broccoli, I didn't even eat it. Desert choices were apple strudel or NY cheesecake, we ordered 1 of each, I did not care for the cheesecake, which was more of n Italian textures style and thin with a graham cracker crust and a brown skin on the top, seems as it is baked in a large sheet and cut."

  • "Have not eaten here in a long time and was disappointed in my meal. My prime rib was luke warm another member of my parties was tough. My pop over was greasey and doughy inside, other is my goup said theirs was good. The other members of the group are from Hopewell and were ok overall with the experience. I have to travel 45 mintues with traffic and not sure if would return or not. thanks"

  • "While visiting the area, we searched for a place with a reputation for seafood and quality meats. After traveling, we eat early, so I cannot vouch for the noise level later in the evening. But the setup wold suggest a quiet comfortable place to dine. We enjoyed excellent beef and, surprisingly, did not do the fish (for no particular reason except the beef looked excellent. Three comments: 1) the introductory popovers were worth the trip -- better than we can make at home. 2) The food was nicely presented with very cold salads and very hot entrees--perfect. 3) the attendance to service was excellent. We would definitely go there again."

  • "Hard to beat these ribs. Nicely prepared with a tasty sauce, not too sweet or tart. Highlight may have been the fabulous garlic steak fries - large wedges, skin on, delectably prepared. We ate off the Hudson Valley Restaurant Week menu, so choices were limited, but, liked what we had, except for boring desserts which appeared to include a vendor-supplied cheesecake. Only downside was the live music, but according to the website that's Friday night only. Would have been okay if it he had stuck to just playing the piano, but the off-key singing of old favorites made us want to break one of the fries in half and use for ear plugs. We live an hour away but will return!"

  • "I am following a gluten free diet and they were able to meet my needs. I had written such when I reserved and the waiter mentioned it the minute he came over! He also apologized that I would not be trying their famous popovers. It was restaurant week and my one son selected that menu and loved it from start to finish. My older son got the crab Rangoon and said they were delicious and then followed with NE clam and the fish tacos. Loved them both. My husband and I got the shrimp cocktail to start and then the scallops (minus the panko seasoning) and they too were delicious! I would definitely go back for a special occasion."

  • "I was excited to go to Hudson's, as I hadn't been there in a few years. We had the HVRW menu. The soup had a nice flavor and the steak was good, although it was a little salty. The desert was very disappointing. I ordered apple strudel with vanilla ice cream. The apples were wrapped in a piece of what must have been soggy pie crust, not strudel. The most disappointing thing was the popovers that they serve with strawberry butter. I remember them from past visits. They were very dry and crunchy, no amount if strawberry butter could redeem them. I visited 3 restaurants during HVRW and this was my least favorite. The slow and I attentive service and the mediocre food were very disappointing."

  • "Tried HR&F during restaurant week. Place is cute, rustic, service was good food was fair. Prix fix for restaurant week. Appetizer was excellent pasta with a tomato mozzarella sauce. I had ahi tuna which was disappointing- it had no taste and was not cooked correctly, husband had chowder he thought was fair, sliced steak which also was fair. Dessert was an apple strudel that was also fair.the regular menu looked good we would try one more time ."

  • "We have been to main restaurant for dinner and food/service have been fine. We made reservations during restaurant week. When we arrived, we were immediately sent to a back room dining area that was small, crowded and understaffed. The food in no way compared to the food in the regular dining room. Service was terrible. We will not be recommending this restaurant to anyone in the near future. Noise level was horrendous."

  • "Popovers are amazing! Crab cake sandwich and fish and chips were good. Chowder is very thick, almost a little too thick. Lobster roll could have used a bit more lobster meat but the combination of lobster and avocado was great. They are very generous with the butter so ask for little to no butter on the roll. They did remake my sandwich though when I pointed out that I preferred no butter. Dessert of apple strudel was bland and lukewarm."

The best was, we didn't have to remind the Manager about the birthday, he knew exactly what to do when the time came to sing happy birthday to my mother-in-law. It was a very pleasant experience.   • "The homemade pop-overs bring back memories of a restaurant in Westchester years ago called Patricia Murphy's (anyone from lower Westchester in the 1950s and 60s will know about it. The ribs were out of this world and the fish dishes (tuna and salmon) were excellent."

  • "We went for a birthday celebration. We had not been here for at least 5 years. The one thing we remembered as if it were yesterday were the popovers. They are so great and the strawberry butter is amazing. My meal was fantastic. The portions were small but tasty. I had the Crab Cake Combo, which had one crab cake, 2 large grilled shrimp and a large scallop. All cooked just right. In a nice mustard sauce. My wife had a steak and shrimp combo and also loved it."

  • "I really enjoyed my recent visit to Hudson's Ribs and Fish. The restaurant has always been a favorite, but I haven't been there in a few years and I have to say it seems to have gotten even better. The menu offers a lot of choices. My partner had the prime rib which cut like butter and was cooked perfectly as ordered. I had the Ahi tuna steak; which was fresh and delicious. Our service was prompt and accurate and the waiter was knowledgeable about the menu; as well as the bar; and was pleasant throughout our meal. I was really pleased with my visit there and will definitely keep them in mind the next time I plan a nice meal out with family and friends."

  • "My HS friends (30 yrs later) still get together a few times a yr. We go to different places but Hudsons is our staple go to place. Location is convenient & a large parking lot. Bar area is big enough & comfortable to have a drink while waiting for the grp. They have large round tables, perfect for conversation. The menu is varied to have something for everyone. I got a cod special which was fresh & done perfectly. It came with a tropical rice which was also good. Wait staff is personable and attentive. When you sit down, they bring huge popovers which are super yummy ! You'll definitely want a 2nd one & they are happy to bring more. A few friends & I split the mudpie dessert which was huge and also yummy. I definitely recommend Hudsons"

  • "I dined here with a "special" friend and found the food excellent. I tried the Swordfish special and as I watch my diet the chef was able to grill the fish and add a double portion of veggies, My friend enjoyed the rack of baby back ribs. They were quite tasty. What lacked to make this an excellent restaurant was the service and lack of "little" things. I asked for a single malt scotch and they had none or the server didn't ask the bar. Their wine selection might be great, the server never pointed it out. At the end of the meal we were simply given a check. Never asked for coffee just here's the check pay your done! I feel management should train their wait staff and obviously they haven't ...I might try this again who knows?"

  • "We decided to try this place for our anniversary dinner that happened to be during restaurant week. We were disappointed. I don’t know if it was because we ordered off the restaurant week menu but the food was not great. I had beef wellington that was burnt, the ribs were boring and the cheese cake was soggy. My wife had the seafood risotto. The calamari was not edible. For $100 I could name a few local restaurants where I could have had a better meal. The service was good but that’s about it. Sadly I don’t think we will be back."

  • "We went to Hudson's during restaurant week and they had a good array of choices available for the 3 course $29.95 promotion. We did have a problem with one of our entree's being undercooked but this was quickly corrected and we enjoyed all our food. Service was very good and we wanted for nothing during our meal."

  • "Had long heard that the Cafe was great but waited to take advantage during Restaurant Week. Food was great. Fussy girlfriend even was happy with her Skirt Steak. I loved my salad with crunchy goat cheese and bacon. I had the TERIYAKI SOBA NOODLE. The noodles were the best I have ever had. We shared the Chocolate Chip Cookie Pie. We definately enjoyed the meal!"
