  • "The service was outstanding. It took a little before we got our table. However, we did not even complain because they apologized and offered us drinks and appetizers Great bartender as well. A true mixologist!"

  • "This was my second time at Hudson's kitchen and they delivered once again. I have some tricky food restrictions and they were awesome and made my restrictions feel like a welcomed challenge rather than a burden. Cocktails and wine list were spot on! Well done. Can't wait to come again soon :) x"

  • "The food was beyond amazing, our server was the perfect amount of attentive and our cocktails were nice and strong. We were a table of 4 and when we arrived for our reservation, our table was ready and waiting. We all agreed that we would definitely be back with other people. Thank you, Hudson Kitchen for blowing our minds!"

  • "We loved "Hudson Kitchen" - it is my namesake and after marrying and abandoning my name "Hudson" I went purely on the name for our anniversary dinner and we were so pleased with the creative food and drinks! Great cocktails and good wines! We'll go again for sure."

  • "Went here for brunch with my boyfriend and friend. We were greeted warmly by manager Laura Skene. Our server was knowledgeable of the dishes on the menu and provided recommendations. The Benedict was amazing and comes highly recommended. Great spot, nice and bright and because we were there later (around 1:30 p.m.) the place had occupied tables, but it was quiet enough to have a relaxing conversation. Will be back soon."

  • "What a beautiful room, with the sun streaming in on a crisp March Sunday morning. The service and ambience is fantastic. The food was a bit disappointing: my omelette was quite bland and the plate spartan. My wife's eggs benny were fine, except the eggs were underdone. Again, her plate seemed quite spartan. We had lots of coffee, though, and our server was very good. I have beeen here for dinner and loved it a lot. We will go back for brunch and choose something different to eat."

  • "The food was delicious! I loved the tartare. The service was great. The decor was lovely. Went with two friends and we all enjoyed everything including the fact that they didn't rush us. We will definitely return."

  • "After hearing many good opinions about this restaurant, I finally got the chance to experience it by myself. The service was mediocre and the food was disappointing. Nothing special and definitely not worth coming back for. I got the duck main and the skin was not crispy at all and it was just tasteless. When the waiter asked how we liked our meal, I told him that I actually didn't enjoy mine. His answer was just a smile and he left again. Like, seriously? Whatever, definitely won't go back!"

  • "Took my daughter to Hudson Kitchen for her birthday - a milestone - the evening started off great - the server brought us each a glass of Prosecco, which was very yummy - as we were enjoying our bubbly and the ambiance, a very annoying 20 something and her boyfriend were seated at the table next to us - why on earth would she think that everyone in the restaurant would be interested in hearing about her life!!!!!! The ambiance sank to the bottom of our wine glasses and we ate our delicious meals in silence. Even the outstanding service couldn't make the noise go away - make sure you order the brussel sprouts - they are out of this world!"

  • "Excellent service, really and truly, but pretentious with the jargon. A "mixologist" straight out of Portlandia. Food was beautifully plated but indelicate when it came to seasoning. It was as though my meal consisted of three unrelated things a la carte, rather than a complimentary fusion of flavours. Atmosphere was lovely, but sadly, we won't be returning. Over-hyped."

  • "Recently had brunch with a friend for the first time. Very comfortable seats in upper area. Good sized coffee mugs (nothing worse then those tiny ones). Offered soy as a option for my latte, which was a lovely surprise. Small but delicious brunch menu. Very nice staff who allowed us to eat at our own pace. Menu very reasonably priced."

  • "We had walked by Hudson Kitchen before and finally got to try it. It was a little more expensive than our usual weekday dinner out, but everything was really good, which is worth paying for. Everything we had was really tasty (we had the aged duck and BC salmon) and presented well. The bartender clearly know what he was doing. I remember thinking the people at the next table were crazy to order wine when the cocktails were so good. We will definitely be back!"

  • "Service was lovely. The server was so knowledgeable about specifics of each food item that we asked about. Just was so polite and discreet. Food was amazing.. Presentation was beautiful and flavours and spices were delicious. Nothing was overpowering. Decor was simple but hipsterish and funky."

  • "Stella or Mad Tom IPA? That's an unacceptably tiny beer list. No excuse for not having at least 6 different/interesting beers - i.e. a lager, a dark, an ale, an IPA, local crafts, interesting imports, etc. How can you not be bothered to have a better beer selection? Food's great but a tad overpriced. Music was horrible. Why are you playing some Sirius satellite 1990s-2000s hits channel? I heard Green Day! What???? The music made the vibe in there very common and unspecial."

  • "Hudson Kitchen: Very fine food. Interesting and delicious. Superb service. Great atmosphere - lively yet quiet conversation entirely possible. ONly quibble was the lack of an identifying sign outside - a problem for first time guests. Looking forward t returning this summer when the patio is open."

  • "DIned at this simply outstanding restaurant last night. Sat at the bar and was served by one of the best servers bar none. Whatever they are paying this guy not enough. Everything about this place was outstanding. Shares the chicken with sticky rice which was perfect for a cold night. Delicious pulled chicken with crisped skin, basil. My mouth is watering thinking about it. Followed up with the dry aged duck. An innovative approach to duck and was perfect. The breast was perfectly cooked rare. The confit which also looked like pulled duck was amazing. Can't wait to go back. Highly recommend sitting at the bar if you want truly exceptional knowledgeable service."

  • "Hudson Kitchen Restaurant Delivers... Not to your front door but delivers to those looking for a trendy restaurant with great food on Dundas Street West that continues to see new vibrant restaurants springing up weekly. Menu choices are limited, but I like that. Dishes well presented with great combinations of flavour that work. Waiters look cloned and I think they all work out the same gym, but all managed to provide good service."

  • "Hudson Kitchen is a perfect gem of a restaurant. Slightly off the beaten path, the ambience is warm and inviting as is the staff. We had the poutine inspired gnocchi and chicken adobo--both of which were extremely well done. Two days later and I am still salivating remembering the poutine inspired gnocchi. Portion sizes are appropriate. The staff are extremely knowledgeable. Craft cocktails are a must try."

  • "Celebrity buzz usually means the restaurant is a place to see and be seen, rather than eat a decent meal. Thankfully that's not the case here. With so many fabulous restaurant choices nearby on Ossington, it's hard to compete but it's definitely better than average. An abbreviated menu means the kitchen can concentrate on doing fewer things, and doing them well. Very noisy room, made worse by a particularly noisy guest at a nearby table. Our server did a great job in acknowledging and apologizing for the noise. He also graciously comp'd a dish that didn't work for me as a vegetarian. I'd return based on the service alone."

  • "We had such a great meal here last weekend. Our waiter was attentive without hoovering over us. He made sure my cocktail was made to my liking and helped us pick out an excellent and reasonably priced wine. The food was really amazing (I had the harvest salad and pork tenderloin) and the desert was one of the best one I've ever had (pear, caramel and ginger bread). Overall a great spot and I would love to go back there soon."

  • "But that's not why you should eat here. While I was mildly disappointed that 2/3 of the menu was devoted to drinks as opposed to food and can't understand why you need 3 salads taking up valuable appetizer selection space on the menu - the food was solid and every bite was bursting of flavor. Must-have is definitely the Albacore Tuna crudo - don't be deceived by its humble description - it's unlike any tuna crudo I've ever tasted. Akin to toro, which melts in your mouth, this was like raw bar heaven. The deconstructed "key lime pie" with calamansi curd for dessert is the sure way to end the meal with a bang (I am told it will become a regular dessert offering soon)."

  • "The warm and happy welcome to Hudson Kitchen was our first indication that we had made a good choice for our Sunday brunch. The menu was beautifully brief and the choices all read well. I had a delicious take on a Rueben sandwich eggs benedict; rye toast with corned beef, sauerkraut and Russian dressing topped off with perfectly slow poached eggs and fresh hollandaise. The side green salad was fresh and delicious. My fiancée had Chorizo with slow poached eggs and roasted potatoes and stewed apples. The chorizo was tasty and again the eggs were done perfectly. The dish didn't come with toast and when asked for some the kitchen delivered two tasty pieces which were shared with some plum or apricot preserve and much appreciated. :-)"

  • "Not impressed with the brunch at all. Small portions, poor quality and mediocre service. So many great brunch places in this neighborhood with decent portions and outstanding service. I heard the owner is quite rude to some of the neighbors. Word travels fast. I suggest you visit one of the better brunch places in this neighborhood such as Kalendar, Aunties And Uncles, L'ouvrier, Saving Grace to get a taste of what brunch should be!"

  • "At the last minute, my wife and I decided to try this restaurant and I was able to get a reservation through Open Table. On a damp, cold Friday night we entered this relatively small, uncomplicated dining space and initially we pretty much had the place to ourselves. Not for long, and we soon found out why. The bar area quickly filled up and the restaurant came alive as every table taken. We watched as the speciality cocktails were prepared and distributed but chose wine instead from the list which covered a nice range. Homemade bread selections were amazing followed by a champagne dressed salad. My wife had the steelhead trout which was delicious and I had risotto that tasted like a pizza. Genius! Gingerbread pear ice-cream!! Yum!"

  • "Once a month my daughter and i get together for dinner at a restaurant we've never before tried. We chose Hudson's Kitchen for her birthday and were not disappointed. Great service...wonderful, imaginative food...and a comfortable atmosphere in which to enjoy it all. Highly recommended."

  • "I had dinner here on a very chilly night. They seated everyone in the back room since it was warmer there, keeping the front dining room empty. The servers were all men, and the room was crowded, I felt like the servers had a hard time squeezing inbetween the tables for service and they also seem to be hovering over awkwardly since the room was so cramped. Our waiter was very nice, but the waiter serving the table beside us seemed rude and agressive with the guests. We ordered the Tuna Crudo and Broccoli salad for starters. The salad was very good but the Tuna was in need of some flavor. Mains were ok, nothing to get excited about. Most of the reviews I could find were for brunch. I probably won't be back."

  • "i am always concerned when the manager tells me they have a special table in the back room where it's warmer for us. This special table was at the doorway of the kitchen next to a party of 12 very loud women celebrating a birthday. One of the women had that laugh that makes you want to scream. Our waiter accommodated and moved us to the front room after 10 minutes. There we met our new waiter unfortunately. He obviously felt we were not good enough to serve as he came across arrogant and condescending. Every interaction was uncomfortable, yet he went out of his way to charm the table for two next to us. the food was outstanding, innovative, beautiful to look at, delicious, amazing in many ways. Their attitude makes it difficult to go back."

  • "We had an awesome dinner experience for our girls night out! The Food was awesome, and the ambience was perfection. It is certainly cozy, and nothing says in better like exposed brick with candle light. Overall the pricing was super fair, the staff was very attentive, and we were able to really enjoy ourselves and celebrate the holidays and a very special engagement!"
