Tucked away in a residential neighborhood -- a magnificent old mansion. Anxious to go their in the daytime--it was too dark to enjoy the surroundings. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The food was magnificent. We all had duck and it was served exactly right. We expect to return many times.

It was a family night so the spot was ideal. The restaurant was not crowded but there was live music. The music was good but I wish it were a little lower because we wanted to talk. The service staff was attentive and the meal was served leisurely. We all enjoyed our meals: salmon, steak, duck and we shared several appetizers which were all very tasty: beef tacos, fish tacos, beets, octopus.

The view is attractive because you look out at a well-manicured lawn and over the trees, you see a little bit of the Hudson River. It's a pretty, large, old-fashioned house that looks like the White House. The food is good and the Linzer Tart is the best dessert ever. However, that TV is really loud. But, the waitress muted the sound coming from the TV for us. The music was super loud too. But, again the waitress muted the loud music for us. We had a window seat, and we enjoyed ourselves. It was Sunday over Columbus Day weekend, and we were the only two people having brunch at 11:30. A bit later, another couple showed and as we were walking out, more people were coming for brunch. Maybe, it's more busy for dinner?

With such a stunning location, view and interior space the Haymount House has untapped potential. The food "fit for foodies" was up to expectations however the staff, although courteous, was unaware of food, wine or the service thereof. The wait staff for this type of venue needs to be on the level of a Peter Kelly restaurant, knowledgeable, attentive, interested in the diners and their experience. Please Haymount House go to the next level and hire servers that are commensurate with the ambiance and food.

The food was very good, I had the beet salad and the special swordfish for an entrée. The service start off good however as time more people arrived is deteriorated. There was one waitress and one helper. The matre'd helped a little. Once we finished our dinner, the plates sat on the table for over a half an hour before someone started to clear the table. Another review mentioned they could use valet parking and I totally agree. Especially when it is dark there is insufficient lighting from the restaurant to the parking lot. Haymount House is not conducive for someone with a disability.

I must say I'm thrilled I decided to dine here. Lived in the area all my life and never even knew it was here as its tucked away in a residential neighborhood and off the beaten path. Both meal and ambiance were unbelievable! Though acoustically a bit hard, as the evening drew on it became harder to not speak in a low shout for my fiancé to hear me, the food and breathtaking views were enough to offset this. Would recommend and will most definitely return. I'm sure it would have been quieter in the section farthest from the windows as many diners decided to sit by them for the view.

We were married at Haymount in July. All of our guests had a wonderful time - the food was delicious, the service staff was friendly and attentive, the atmosphere was elegant and the views were spectacular. As a wedding gift, we received a Haymount gift certificate and had dinner there again on September 14th. We were treated like VIPs - we were welcomed by the staff and received our first drink on the house. I chose the vegetarian pasta dish and my husband had steak. We both enjoyed our meals and the service was excellent. Haymount is the perfect place for a special event or to just enjoy a night off from cooking!

Haymount House is a hidden jewel, located in a neighborhood surrounded by houses, trees, and beautiful landscape. You can see the sunset over the Hudson here, but you may miss it because you would be so interested in the food, (try the duck breast). The service is also outstanding, we were introduced to the owner, David, and chatted easily with the waiters and hostess. We first went there for a special occasion, but after our experience there, we decided that any day is a good one to go.

What a wonderful old building in great shape. Very romantic as they don't pack in the tables. While the food was great, we had a server that, despite trying hard, was very, very inexperienced. From not knowing the beer or wine list (and the restaurant doesn't have a printed drink menu) to not bringing a pen to sign the credit card bill, he was incredibly nice and tried hard, but no one has ever shown him all the right things to do in a restaurant that this one wants to be. Overall, we'd go back as the food was worth it, but I hope they spend some time training their sales staff.

Overall, a good experience. Only have a view on the river if you're outside, which we weren't. Pretty restaurant and setting though. The service could be better. Young kids who don't know much about food or drinks. Seem inexperienced. Had to wait awhile for our check and it wasn't very busy. Waiter was a nice guy, a little rough around the edges though for a nicer restaurant like this.

This is near our house and we hadn't tried it because it is a bit pricey. With the groupon for 2 (appetizer, 2 entrees, a dessert, and 2 glasses of wine) and two extra drinks and tip/tax we ended up spending about $110. I would definitely buy the groupon again as I think it ended up being a good value but this is too pricey for us normally. Service was friendly but not polished. The view from the back room of the sunset was gorgeous. Food was not exciting but very well executed.

Refurbishing - excellent! I ordered the salmon, which was delicious, as well as the beets, asparagus and potatoes - all perfectly cooked and delicious. My husband ordered the ny strip steak, med rare, which came overcooked a bit and was tough - certainly not worth $38. The service was another story - amateurish. The flourless chocolate cake was unimpressive. The bar was very inviting, and I might go back and try the brunch and give it another try. Hopefully the service will be better. Hope they get their act together - would like to see this become as successful as it was in the heyday of Maison Lafitte! Overall it was ok - felt like we were paying for the view - glad we had the coupon!

Beautiful sunset setting with the Hudson River in foreground in a wonderfully restored antebellum type mansion. Every detail was thought out & the food & service was close to perfect. After 2 great experiences at Hudson at Haymount House, is this the end?! Went for dinner with two friends and my significant other. While the appetizers were good, the pork chops were horrid. Can get better at a diner. Over fried and dry on 2 separate plates. Hair in my drink from the bar and most of all terrible, terrible service. There was only one gentleman around who seemed to know anything about the menu or wines. The female server was a disappointment. I hope the manager takes this seriously and works to get the restaurant back to the standard that first impressed us and left us hungry for more.

I've been to the Haymount House over 6 times because the food is delicious and it has such beautiful views. Having said that the slowness of service is becoming a serious problem that will eventually deter me from returning. At one point we did not see our waiter for over 30 minutes. Even after asking the owner to send our waiter over it still was another 15 minutes before we saw someone to take our bill. It seems to me the place is either lacking enough employees or they seriously don't have a concept of time. I can see how this will keep possible diners from returning. I truly wish I had nothing to complain about but this is not the first time. It would be a real shame to lose this neighborhood gem due to something so fixable.

This is some of the best food in Westchester. Real variety of dishes. Something for everyone on the menu, from simple fish tacos or meatballs to a fine halibut that I had that had layers of flavor and wonderful sauces. The food is farm to table and local. Portions were plentiful and the menu is fairly priced. Service was good and efficient. The waiter young but friendly and wanting to please. The setting is beautiful. The owner, David is a nice person and very accommodating. We wanted a table outside but all the tables were taken. He had them bring another table outside for us to see the sunset over the Hudson River. This is a rare find.

I ate here last year and the food and ambience were excellent but the service had some kinks to work out. This time the food was divine, particularly the octopus appetizer and the pork cutlet buried under a mound of arugula and tomatoes; summer on a plate. The service has now been brought up to the level of the food. Our waiter was friendly, on top of things and recommended food that we enjoyed. A really nice night.

When we first arrived, the hostess tried to seat us at a tiny table against a wall in a dark spot (talk about clostraphobic) right across from the music. I asked if we could have a table on the porch (there were plenty available). She hesitated, went to ask someone (why I don't know) and finally gave in. My friend had the mussels and French fries, which she liked; however, part of my chicken was raw, and the basmati rice was greasy. I also found it annoying that the waitress came and refilled our water (even when it was almost full) about 12-15 times! I have better food - and really good portions - for a fraction of your price at the Croton Diner! Nope, wouldn't eat at your place again...
