Didn't expect to have so many options to choose from. Really enjoyed the Hudson Sushi which was fresh and perfectly seasoned. Our son loved the pasta bolognase which had more meat than pasta.

The service was fantastic. We tried the King Kong sushi roll and it was amazing. Highly recommend it. I had the prime rib, which was tender and flavorful. Watch out - the Colcannon potatoes are everywhere and if you don't like onions, they are NOT for you. I liked them, but the hubby was unpleasantly surprised. He had the chicken, which he reports was tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. Just right. If the upside-down pineapple cake donuts are on the menu, GET THEM. Worht the trip across town just for those!

We made our reservation on the day of our dinnner with no problem (weeknight). Upon arrival at 7:30 it was very crowded and a bit more noisy than we had expected for an anniversary dinner. GIven that slight inconvenience the food is always outstanding as is the service. Cameron Mitchell restaurants never disappoint.

Seven of us had lunch at Hudson 29. We were seated in a corner booth, which made conversation (and laughter) much easier. If the noise level was high for the other diners it was probably us, having a wonderful time. Everyone raved about their lunches (chicken salad sandwich with roasted corn/avocado salad; Cantonese chicken and noodle; Crispy buttermilk chicken. We shared two generous dessert portions: Texas sheet cake and fried doughnuts with caramel dipping sauce. Both were rich and yummy. Our server was friendly and good-humored, easily handling a group. Parking behind the restaurant was no problem on a Friday afternoon.

Cameron Mitchell has a reputation of top notch restaurants, Hudson 29 did not disappoint! Columbus has seen new restaurants sprouting like mushrooms and for those of you searching for an excellent culinary experience look no further than Hudson 29. Nestled across from the trendy Lane Ave shopping center, you will find the interior warm and inviting, but allows the food to be the real showcase. The restaurant buzzed with excited energy and was comfortably full with seemingly satisfied patrons. Our server Mariah was outstanding; she was very knowledgeable of the menu items and an able to describe items, so you HAD to try them. She was very attentive and definitely anticipated our needs. Great ambiance, great service, great menu, can’t wait to visit again!

The food was ok at best. I got snapper which was tough and really not good. My husband got ribs which were good but nothing spectacular or worth going back for since everything was way too expensive for the quality. The wine was also way overpriced. It was not a horrible experience but I will not be going back and would not recommend to friends as there are much better restaurants in the area that are worth the cost!

I was really excited to try Hudson 29. It was my daughters 18th birthday so my wife & I thought it would be fun to take her out to a nice dinner. We ordered the house made cheese stuffed dinner rolls. I can't believe they charged $7 for dinner rolls with cheese, not mention only 3 come to an order. However, they were delicious. I also ordered the shrimp taquitos. This isn't an appetizer that I would recommend. The shrimp were overcooked & the only thing I could taste was the corn tortilla wrap. This also comes with what the menu describes as Pico de gallo. What I had was not a pico de gallo, it was tomatoes and a bit of cilantro. After the appetizers, the waiter offered the features for the evening. The soup special for that evening was tortilla soup. I love tortilla soup & normally will order it whenever it is offered. Hudson 29's tortilla soup is not tortilla soup. It is tomato soup with a hint of spice & mini slivers of tortilla. Also, I was shocked to see how small the portion of soup was when it came to the table. To round out my meal, I ordered the Gerber Farms Chicken. Instead of the potatoes, I asked to have the cole slaw as my side dish. The portion of chicken was very small & super dry. The menu describes the dish as half a chicken. Honestly, the portion is much smaller than half a chicken. I will say the cole slaw was delicious. My wife ordered the Steak and Enchilada for $27. The hanger steak was really good but the enchilada had very little flavor & overall was disappointing. The roasted corn was very good. My daughter ordered the slow roasted prime rib. The prime was good however the potatoes were awful -way too much cabbage. Normally, I feel like I get what I pay for a Cameron Mitchell's restaurant. However, with Hudson 29, I did not get what I paid for. Hudson 29 is very overpriced.

I went there with my father on a weeknight. It was very busy and loud but we were able to sit in a quieter section, right by the wine. If you want to carry on a conversation this is the place to sit. My father had prime rib which he said was delicious. I had a French Dip sandwich made with prime rib. The meat was very tender but not all that flavorful. I could have used some more au jus too. Our server was very friendly and attentive without being annoying. I definitely plan to go back and try some other items. We passed on dessert this time but they sounded great!

I'll start by saying that I rarely review restaurants and I also (usually) like Cameron Mitchell restaurants. The food and service was very mediocre. My wife ordered the scallops and I ordered the prime rib, neither knocked our socks off. I've had considerably better prime rib and have made better scallops at home. The flavor of the prime rib was good, but didn't "melt in your mouth". The scallops were gritty and seemed to have no seasoning on them at all. Very disappointing for a meal that cost $140 (with a few drinks). Maybe my Cameron standards are too high??

Our reservation was for a celebration and to try one of the newest of Cameron Mitchell's restaurants. The atmosphere was really good but having enjoyed the cuisine at M and the Ocean Club, I think we were expecting more of a culinary experience. The food being of California influence was good but I didn't find myself savoring each bite with an underlying yum, so it wasn't outstanding. It was more simplistic perhaps keeping it from the top of the rating scale for me. Our service was much more casual too than we have been used to in a fine dining experience, not that it was bad but not as attentive as in other venues. The specialty drinks were interesting and refreshing.

I had the Salmon. Size was disappointing for the price and the taste was average; I've had better at other chain restaurants like Outback. I was also surprised that there wasn't any bread service, unless you wanted to buy it as an appetizer. Overall, I think this format is overrated and there are better restaurants in Cameron's group.

There is a nightly special meal. I had the pork loin. I was an outstanding meal. The pork was perfectly cooked and was more than two inches thick. Great flavor and accompanied by a wonderful bean and vegetable salad. A great fall dinner for $23. The server really made an effort to be helpful and timely. I also recommend the Black Stallion cabernet by the glass.

The contemporary and elegant atmosphere, refined art, and courteous treatment enhanced our anticipation for a wonderful experience. Coupled with very tasteful food and served by well spoken servers created an unforgettable experience. My wife and I were initially drawn to visit the Hudson 29 because of its newness and its offer to discount costs to veterans on Veterans Day. We liked it so much we have promised ourselves that we would visit the restaurant again in the near future.

Had family in town and went here to celebrate a birthday. The have a garage but parking was a pain way in the back away from the entrance. Then we had to wait 30 minutes for our reservation. Finally got seated and things started off well but then the dinner came. The ribs were tougher than leather and if it wasn't for the sauce on top they would be bland. The sea bass way over priced for such a small piece that was under cooked. The waiter never came back to ask how thing were and we had to chase him down later for the bill. Oh did I mention the mashed potatoes came out cold. Really! For a CMR restaurant it was such a let down.

I took my husband there for his birthday with the family and it could not have been a more lovely experience. Everyone from 6 -71 years-old loved the food. The cocktails and wine were fantastic. This is a very nice restaurant, dark, intimate, great for groups. Kids are welcome, but it is not a kid's restaurant. It is great for a family celebration, date-night, or as a place to get comfortable with a drink and some friends. Outstanding.

The atmosphere at Hudson 29 is terrific. Gorgeous and spacious lobby, with a fireplace and leather sofas, soft lighting, warm woods and stone finishes, and space between tables to create privacy, are some of the features of this restaurant. However, the main feature is the exceptional food! Plus, it was served quickly. I had the best prime rib I have ever eaten, and the colcannon mashed potatoes still have my mouth watering. Husband had scallops, which were perfectly prepared. You will not be sorry if you choose to eat there!

Staff was exemplary another example of great training. Food was mediocre. Cheese stuff bread was lame, house salads were decent. Chicken okay, roast beef sandwich was cold and not enough sauce. Didn't care for the fries. Pineapple donuts were ordinary. Ambiance was much too loud, couldn't talk w/out shouting. Expected too much maybe b/c we are used to the Bistro. Will try the Barn for redemption, I like supporting my former classmates except Wendy. We were there to celebrate wife's birthday and talk investments. But maybe that was the wrong venue to try either. Typically we are Bistro and Cap City fans both excellent restaurants. The parking was convenient.

Very disappointing experience for a Cameron Mitchell restaurant. We were celebrating our friend's 20th anniversary. Upon arriving, we told the server we wanted to pay for the 1st round of drinks. He then proceeded to make us pre-order the special even when we were there early (5:30 reservation). He rushed our ordering and then slipped 1 check to us when we had asked for split early in the night. He also did not hear a dessert order and did not come back for ages once he sat the check down. All this despite the fact it was not overly crowded with several tables still open. Very disappointing.

Décor/ambiance/energy level: Excellent. Expectations: high as usual, it's a C.M. restaurant. Service: our server was great and truly wanted us to have a wonderful experience. Just one thing to fix: the food. One starter they are proud of are the rolls. They came out not baked enough, gooey in the center, then topped with melty cheese, with marinara for dipping. Sounds good, tastes like cheap kiddie food. Partners entrée: St. Louis ribs. Premade some other day. Never touched a grill. Boring BBQ sauce. My entree: Prime Rib. My partner and I are seldom concerned with price, but if you are going to charge $29 for Prime Rib, you better beat the chain restaurants and Bring It. It was lacking in flavor/seasoning. Bottom line: we won't be back.

My mixed drink was missing an ingredient, had to send it back to be remade. Fish special (lemon soul) had too much breading and was not fully cooked. PrimeRib was too done. Seabass (another special) was not fully cooked. Waiter was trying to rush our table, clearning plates before we were ready, presenting the check without asking about dessert (which we ordered 3 desserts) - and was not graceful servicing the table, reaching in front of face to clear plates and unaware plate nearly hit face of guest, refilling water glasses in similar manner. Disappointing. Our evening was not typical of Cameron Mitchell experience.

Atmosphere and service were outstanding. Hoda served us - she was great - we'd visited H29 several times before and the service was tentative and did not match the outstanding food on those occasions. This time, the service was great and the food was too!
