Hubbell & Hudson Market & BistroJune 12 dinnerOne of our favorites in The Woodlands. Great neighborhood feel, decent wine list and very good food.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMVery enjoyable experienceVery enjoyable experience overall. Service was excellent...attentive, but not at all rushed. The Ahi Tuna appetizer was excellent, although the portion was very small for the price. The Wedge Salad was also outstanding with warm applewood back and excellent blue cheese crumbles and dressing. I had the bone-in filet which was very good, but not up to the standards of a higher end steakhouse. My wife had the Sea Bass which she thorougly enjoyed. Nice atmosphere for a good meal. Will definitely return.6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMA Must VisitThis is one of those rare restaurants that you can visit over and over again without it ever getting old. The drinks change, the menu changes with the season, and you always get good service.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMChef driven- luck findWe followed Celeste's(waitress) suggestions and pulled a "we'll have what she is having".Known for their steaks (beautiful 30 day dry aged) my husband shockingly skipped it.We started with the quail which was very very nice-meaty with a terrific crispness and sauce.Celeste suggested the appetizer of the day-a thin mini sesame seed waffle cone stuffed with tuna, lime crema and masago.Great Asian flavors and my husband was wowed by the textures.I should have ordered another-THAT good and the dish had 3 cones for 2 people.Fresh tagliatelle with perfect crab and truffle. Delicious-share since its so rich.Don'miss the peanut butter dessert.Wine prices-very reasonable. So happy-returned for brunch the next day.Look out for Chef Austin-26 and wow.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMThe BistroIt would be a pleasure to recommend Hubbell & Hudson Bistro to anyone contemplating a great place and atmosphere for a family meal or small get together. The food is always outstanding and chef prepared dishes are so hard to beat. Quality is good, freshness is great, ambience is wonderful. It is definitely a favorite gem amongst The Woodlands crowd that enjoy great cusine.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMQuality of foodThe quality of food and standard of service has always been a priority of ours when choosing to eat at a restaurant. Hubbell N Hudson has always exceeded our expectation in addition to offering suggestions for selecting great wines to complement a meal. We recommend them all of the time to our family and friends and feel very fortunate to have such a wonderful market and Bistro in our neighborhood!5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMMonday evening outdoor diningGreat overall outdoor seating although the tables sit at a level below the sidewalk so one feels as if on display a bit with passers by ogling.
Service was very courteous and personal bit a bit slow despite restaurant being almost half empty. Secondary food servers seemed awkward, not able to find our table with appetizers even though the outdoor area was less than half occupied.5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMBest in The Woodlands. VeryBest in The Woodlands. Very good food, menu has nice variety, wine list is complete and reasonable in price. Everyone friendly.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious! My mom and I had a lovely experience!! The food was great.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect Experience! The Bistro is always a great place to dine ( brunch, lunch or dinner and special occasions! )....I've always enjoyed each time I dine there. It's impressive to my guests and I appreciate the service by all the Bistro associates.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food & presentationThis was our first time to eat here and were pleasantly surprised.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and service, very noisy. As always, the food was very good. Unique and tasty. Our waitress was very attentive, the service was good. The noise level from a couple table of families was so overwhelming as to make all of us in that area of the restaurant have to all but yell to make ourselves heard at our own table. I haven't noticed this before, so it may have been just this combination of people and the acoustics of the room, but it made for a difficult evening trying to visit while we ate.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was outstanding! ForFood was outstanding! For a more-expensive-than-average restaurant, a table cloth would be expected. The service was all-right, but again, for the price it could have been more attentive.
The experience was trully saved by the quality and presentation of the food! Probably the best in town!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMIncredible Restaurant! LovedIncredible Restaurant! Loved every moment from the moment we walked in the door to our exit. The waiter was very knowledgeable of the menu and specialities. They have a great variety of martinis and wines. We both had fish that was prepared to perfection. The peanut butter cup dessert was to die for. I will definitely return! Thanks for such a memorable evening!5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMFavoriteWe eat here often - brunch, lunch and dinner and have never been disappointed with either the food or service. It's a great place if you want to visit with your dining partners as the restaurant is quiet enough to be able to carry on conversations easily.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMInterview LunchEnjoyed my business lunch. The lobster sandwich was enjoyable and tasty. Service was prompt and attitude was friendly.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMFood is amazing! Great variety.Food is amazing! Great variety. Menu changes regularly. Different experience each visit.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a pleasure to dineAlways a pleasure to dine here. Great new menu too.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMI go to a lot of concerts,I go to a lot of concerts, and I usually dread the drive to the Woodlands for shows at the Pavilion. However, H&H is my usual pre-concert destination. I have yet to have a bad meal or bad experience there. The food is exceptional. The wine list is not large, but there is pretty good price range and usually something decent in the range you want to spend. This is definitely one of my favorite places.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMPretty good but...Food was pretty good. I will note that the food seemed overly fussy with decent execution. I think they might want to spend a little more time on the basics and less time on some of these over the top entrees. For example: does there need to be foie fras on the burger? The rich delicacy is lost on the beefy mess of a burger. I had the prawn and rock shrimp...the presentation and taste of the prawns is overshadowed by the cold and mushy polenta filled with a mound of what seemed like salad sheimp. However the service was great and even though I paid $15 for one small piece of short rib for an appetizer, it was pretty dang fantastic. So, all in all it was worth trying but just falled short for the price.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat from Start to FinishEverything about Hubbell & Hudson was great from start to finish. We had the tuna appetizer special that featured heirloom tomatoes from a local grower that were picked fresh that day... amazing! The chef personally brought out a complimentary dish of jumbo lump crab pasta. The crab was so fresh and tender. The weight staff was fabulous. I can't say enough about Hubbell & Hudson. It was my first time there but definitely will not be the last.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic dinner. EverythingFantastic dinner. Everything was top notch and the service was impeccable. I will be a repeat customer!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMExquisitely done!!I was in the Woodlands for a little decompression time. I went on-line looking for restaurants near my hotel and found the menu to be the most alluring in the area. Let me say that I was SOOO delighted at how AMAZING the whole experience turned out to be. The service was impeccable!! Maggie was so charming! She suggested wine that is my new favorite. I am an incredible food snob and she was spot on with suggestions for my meal. Thank you Mr. Novak (GM) for such personal attention. Bravo Chef Austin!! I can't wait to go back!4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat B-day SpotThis was a birthday celebration for a friend.
Our server Ryan was excellent.
The food was delicious!4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food and Service but NoisyThe food and service at Hubbell and Hudson was fantastic. However, the tables were close very together and not very private. Also, the music they played was too loud and did not fit the ambiance they were trying to portray.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Woodlands is fortunateThe Woodlands is fortunate to have such a wonderful little bistro. We have always enjoyed our meals here. The latest chef and their new menu are fantastic. The fish dishes are among the best I have experianced. All that said I am a little disapointed in the changes made to the steak offerings; I would like to see some other cuts available beyond the 3 offered.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMNew menu items were delish!New menu items were delish!
