A word from HUB 51
HUB 51 is the River North creation from R.J. and Jerrod Melman, the younger generation of the Lettuce Entertain You organization. HUB 51 is a convergence of entertainment, nightlife, dining and social activity-much like the offbeat creations of LEYE were years ago. Striving to be at the heart of Chicago's social and dining scene, the attitude at HUB 51 is to expect the unexpected, a place offering unconventional perks, and outstanding food, drink and service in a spacious urban setting.Continued

  • "Great service awesome neighborhood gem. Would recommend this place to locals or just visiting"

  • "We ate here last summer while visiting the city and when we came back this summer, we again chose this restaurant to eat. We made that choice because our experience was so good. Delicious food, good service, fair prices. Very much like this restaurant. This time we ate a meal, went to a show, and came back by to pick up dessert to go after the show. The desserts were delicious! Wonderful carrot cake and a freshly baked brownie were both delicious!"

  • "Went there for dinner. Disappointed in actual dinner entrée options, seemed limited. Menu broken down in sections, sushi, mexican, entree, burgers etc. There were for us, two ordered fish tacos and they really liked them. Two of us split Salmon dish and chicken enchilada stack because we couldn't make up our minds. The salmon was prepared very basic, roasted with a bit of salt and pepper. Served with only a side of grilled asparagus. It was very good. The enchilada stack came with plain white rice, black beans, and chopped tomato. This too was very good, especially liked the black beans. We were all happy with our food, just wasn't what I was expecting. Next time I will study menu a little better before going to a new place."

  • "HUB is one of our "go-to" places to make the whole family happy. The food is always delicious, and the service is consistently friendly, knowledgable and accodating. Had a great lunch with my sister and niece last week. Weather was great so the outside was crowded. Chips and not-too-garlicy guac arrived soon after ordering and gave us time to negotiate the large menu. Our issue is always "what to order?" since there are so many things we like. After deep negotiations, a decadent grilled cheese was shared and offset with more healthy fish tacos, a tuna poke and the brussel sprout salad which is always on our receipt."

  • "The food and ambience were great. The service was fantastic. The sushi was not to die for at all. With that said, the other dishes we enjoyed were certainly devlicious."

  • "I have patronized Hub 51 for a number of years, generally for lunch and and an after work drink. The food is consistently wonderful and the service is always superior. The only downside is the noise level at lunch time. I always try to go early as it gets very difficult to carry on a conversation as the tables fill up. However, the quality of the service and the food trump the inconvenience of the noise."

  • "Great menu variety and food presentation. Our party of six was satisfied with our choices. Server was efficient but not terribly knowledgeable on the menu. If you're looking for a quiet dinner and/or table conversation, you may want to find another dining option as the noise level is off the charts--particularly on the weekend for dinner. Table was waiting for us when we arrived--right on time!"

  • "Went here with a few friends on a Thursday night. The food was very good, had the nachos as an appetizer and new pork tacos. Both very good, would recommend."

  • "The staff is always friendly and knowledgable. They give great recommendations and are top of refills and cleaning up! Best sushi around too! Can't beat that combo!"

  • "we love hub51. this is our go-to spot for anytime we have family or friends in town. we mainly go here for brunch, but their dinner menu is phenomenal as well. a must: the breakfast nachos. you won't regret it. coffee is phenomenal and they never let the caffeine dip too low. service is excellent. the morning playlist is the best in the city. all oldies, keeping the mood vibrant and energetic."

  • "We came here for my friends 25th birthday dinner. This place was great. We easily fit 10 people at a high top table with bar stools. The drink list was great and we got a pitcher to all share. The nachos were a huge appetizer that we all split and the menu had a large selection to choose from with anything you could think of. Everyone was satisfied with their food and the atmosphere was very welcoming. The outdoor patio looked great and the place was packed. I will be sure to come visit again."

  • "With being new to the area, and having a severe gluten allergy, HUB 51 checked off all the boxes for amazing! The staff was very knowledgeable about having a Celiac patron and the food could not have tatted better! We will definitely be back, and have recommended it to others!"

  • "I brought my date to Hub 51 for his birthday and it was wonderful! I noted this in the reservation and the waitress brought our dessert to the table with a candle and the restaurant paid for our dessert! It was a very beautiful experience and the food was delicious! I will be back again very soon."

  • "The staff at HUB 51 was extremely kind and welcoming to my family visiting from out of town. We had reservations for 12 pm for lunch, but they arrived into town early and the World Cup match was on (US vs Germany). They were so kind to let them sit down at 11 to watch the match while they waited for my husband and I to meet them at 12. A lot of places in the city would have made them wait for their full party or wouldn't want a group parked at a table for that long. Thanks to the staff at HUB 51, my family had a great stop in Chicago."

  • "Wanted a place reasonable in price, vibrant and the food was good for a dinner with my college age son, HUb 51 fit the bill. The chicken nacho's were the best i have ever had and the fish dishes we ordered were amazing. Service was friendly and the atmosphere was bustling. Highly recommend."

  • "We had a limited time in Chicago and this place was recommended by a friend. It was also close to where we were staying. Using Open Table we were able to get a quick reservation. However, our table was extremely close to other diners and the noise level was such that we had to shout at each other during out dinner. The food was run of the mill and the menu selections were limited. We were expecting much more from this dining experience and were disappointed."

  • "Mediocre food....just an upgraded sports bar menu. With so many sophisticated options in Chicago, there is no reason to return."

  • "Three words....Brussel Sprout Salad...nevermind what bad memories you have about sprouts from your childhood, just try it! Sooooooo good! I literally order it every single time I go (which is at least once a month). Went here recently with two friends from out of town and am never disappointed. We got the tuna & basil roll...SOOO GOOD! Crunchy, sweet, spicy....perfect! The Tuna Sandwich is a must if you like Ahi style tuna served medium or medium rare. Their fries are hot, crispy and delicious. Also, the nacho's are to die for! They are enough for 3-4 people to share and are finger licking good. I love that Hub has a wide variety of food to satisfy everyone's taste. American, mexican, asian, sushi...you name it, Hub has it."

  • "One of the 20 great nights a year where you can eat outside in Chicago - and we did. They accommodated our outdoor dining request with no problem, service was attentive and friendly, and the food (as always) was very good. We truly enjoy coming here."

  • "Had an early dinner before a show on a Monday night. At 5:30 the bar was packed but the dining room fairly empty. You would expect to get your server's full attention, but he was too busy chit chatting with other employees to really be bothered with a table. Had to have another waitress get him for us and we were his only table. The food was good but not really memorable. I had the fish tacos and the Mahi was overcooked and dry. The sushi was better. The whole experience was just not what you expect from a Lettuce Entertain You restaurant. Not someplace I would go out of my way to go back to."

  • "We had a couple recommendations for dinner here as a fun and exciting hot spot for a Bachlorette party. Our waitress ignored us after we were not ready to order the minute she came over. We finally had to flag her down. She could have offered suggestions. Instead she's rolling her eyes and ignoring. Then food was flavorless. Sushi consisted of a large chunks of unrippened avocado and some fish. We had the poke with only 2 chips? Enchilada stack was bland. Only thing that was good was a pitcher of the cucumber cocktails. At one point, someone ordered a salons, and she brought a side of rocket that was barely dressed and NOTHING ELSE. Then she told us it was entered in as just a side of rocket. Wth?! Horrible!!"

  • "Knew I was going to be in Chicago for Fathers Day so this worked out perfect. The Brunch Buffet was awesome and had just the right mix of classics with modern takes on classics (the sushi was a little out of place though). All the food was good and I also loved the french toast service that was walking around. Also the Bloody Marys were awesome!"

  • "The staff here is always super accommodating and friendly. The food is amazing! It is my new go to sushi place (and I've tried them all!). The appetizers and salads are at the same level! I absolutely love the homemade chips and guacamole with roasted corn in it!"

  • "Hub 51 has some interesting food combinations that give customers a chance to try some things they might not think of combining at home. I tried the open faced BLT and it was deliciously combined with blue cheese, frisee, and smokey bacon. A party in your mouth!"

  • "A real nice go to place. The food was great. The prices of food are not too expensive. and you have to try the chicken nacho"
