I have seen the negative reiveiws of this establishment and cannot understand why. The food and service were outstanding, and the prices are very reasonable. If you want a nice, quiet, dinner atmosphere, with a great view and above average food, I highly recommend HS Lordships. It's not a place for the yuppies and hipsters. You don't come here to be seen. You come here to enjoy a quality evening. The wait staff is well trained and very attentive. It's old school, especially the decor. Maybe it could use a little upgrade, but I love the character of this place. My only complaint is the choice of music. More appropriate music for dinner would be welcomed. The teenie bopper music doen't fit. Looking forward to my next visit!

When asking for opinions on their fish dinners, the waitress couldn't recommend any of them. When asked about the beef selections, she recommended them. When pressed, she admitted that she doesn't like fish. She also came over to our table too often,

Friends came to visit from Illinois and we wanted somewhere to sit, eat and catch up with each other's lives and HS Lordships turned out to be the perfect venue. After numerous trips to the brunch buffet we had sampled a majority of the dishes available and were delighted with not just the selection, but the open and friendly faces of the staff of servers. Even though at times the noise levels rose above a comfortable level, we discovered it to be the perfect time to go back in search of something else to munch on. We of course over indulged on the food but discovered that it later gave us the perfect excuse to walk along the shoreline and enjoy the beautiful weather. I will remember our time together with friends sharing this meal.

Once a year, my best friend and I treat ourselves to brunch to celebrate our birthdays at Hs Lordships. The food is always consistent and have we always enjoyed the variety of food. It's so easy to over eat, so beware. We combine our complimentary champaign with the orange juice. Always walk away full and happy.

We celebrated my brother's birthday at Hs Lordships Restaurant. The view is fantastic as always. I had the swordfish which was cooked perfectly. My sister had the prime rib which she loved. My brother had the crusted cod over spinach and he ate every bit. We love to come here for special occasions. The service was a little slow but the server was very courteous and pleasant. My family is due for a brunch soon. The only trouble with brunch here is that there is so much delectable food, I don't know what to choose.

If you thought buffets we're bad... This place will seal the deal for you to never eat at one again. The food is beyond bland, the lighting is dim and dingy, the people there seemed to be over worked at their stations. Plus they don't even serve fresh orange juice. They serve the concentrate from the shelf.

We had reservation for sunday with a window seat, instead of given the best seat available, we were given options to sit. We ended up in the back one because it had AC. sat down to order drinks, noticed we had a wobbly table that lean down to the left. decided not to complain and make the best of our anniversary. the walk to the food wasn't the bad part, it was when we came back with our food, our reserved table was given away WITH our drinks on the table. ( which we saw them drink) we stood there and watched the confused workers while the room stared at us. when we finally sat down, one of the girls insisted that we kept a drink she said "they didn't drink from this one". Really? Our waiter was good. We paid our bill and left 15% tip

Was there with my Husband and Father for Thanksgiving Dinner. We had reservations but was told it would be another hour and that they were still seating the 3:30 reservations. The layout of the buffet was horrible as we were crossing the hall while dodging people coming in or waiting for their table. Hostess called our name and just pointed to our table that was not even set up. Had to ask a couple of time for our champagne. Will not go back even though this was an annual event for our family.

I chose this restaurant due to reviews. The view was spectacular and everything else was really disappointing. When our party arrived to the restaurant, we were asked to wait 20 minutes in the bar because a large party had just arrived. We had an infant so our reservation was strategic due to feedings and sleep. We waited in the bar area and all the chairs were threadbare - quite surprising. I stated in the reservation and when we arrived that we were celebrating 2 birthdays. At no time were the birthday girls treated special - at all! All of our steaks were overcooked and for some reason our server was a manager - which he kept stating over and over - and he was horrible. No candles for the dessert- just a lousy expensive evening

Brunch here is a very special Sunday treat. The view of The City and the San Francisco Bay is spectacular and it's fun to watch the windsurfers. The variety of food is impressive and the the quality consistently high. Service is outstanding and very friendly. Your champagne glass never sits empty for more than a moment or two! Recently windows in the dining room have been replaced, making the room much more comfortable. Tip: If you go early, there is a $5 discount. (Check with the restaurant for details.) We have been enjoying Sunday brunch at Hs Lordships for many years and think it continues to improve.

We were there at 5 for an early dinner. This entitled us to their sunset menu for $19 which included 3 courses. However, the prime rib was tough. Their Clam chowder was tasty as well as the cheese cake. Also ordered was the Seafood Medley and the fish of the day. Seahfood Medly so-so, Fish of the day very good. Other than the dessert that came with the early bird dinner, we were not offered a dessert or a dessert menu. I don't even know if they have one. The view on the other hand is fantastic.

Disappointing. The building is showing its age and needs a major update, inside and out. No hostess when we first arrived. Only three tables at 8:00 pm, yet we still had delays between courses. The French onion soup was great, but the clam chowder was unremarkable - it seemed like it came from a can. I think the waiter served my steak to another table, and they had to recook. The prime rib was fatty and undercooked. I don't think they have much of a future. Maybe they make it up on banquets and Sunday brunch.

I had eaten here before during a retirement party that drew at least 200 guests; and I was impressed then with the view, the food, and the service. So when a friend from out of state expressed a desire to eat where we could look out on the bay, I thought this would be a good choice. I made a reservation online for 7:30 on a Thursday night, but need not have bothered as they were only two or three other groups of diners when we arrived. Unfortunately, the bar area was being remodeled and the area of the dining room with the best views was closed; but the attentive staff did all they could to make up for that. The drinks were well mixed and reasonably priced. My friends and I enjoyed salads, pasta, chowder, calamari, and creme brûlée.

We were initially sat next to a large crowded loud table (which seemed like poor planning on the hostesses part) but we were moved quickly to a quiet table as soon as we requested it. The view was spectacular though the majority of the building seemed set up for events (seemed mostly for weddings) rather than restaurant dinning. It was welcoming all the same. The side dishes were lacking in flavor: mashed potatoes tasted like instant potatoes with garlic flavor mixed in. Salad dressing was a bit to watered down. Considering the price per plate- I was expecting a bit more. The filet I had was to be honest the best I'd ever eaten. The wife had prime rib, which wasn't quite as amazing. Desert menu was lacking for special dietary needs

Sunset dinner specials before 6pm include 3 courses and are quite a deal. Even without the sunset specials the food is reasonably priced given the scenic location. Loved the pesto served with the bread and butter. The clam chowder had large pieces of clam and was very good. The sunset special prime rib a good size, but had they had rare portions I would have been in heaven. Med rare is the best they could do on this night. Side dishes of garlic mashed potatoes and misc. veggies were excellent. The Filet was tender and the prawns were fantastic. Pasta primavera with chicken was a good sized portion and my pasta lover finished nearly all of it. The service was attentive.

This was my first time dining on a Saturday for brunch. I went there to celebrate my 4th year wedding anniversary. I was seated in the far end of the restaurant and had a great view of the waterfront and both San Francisco Bay and Golden Gate Bridges. You must try the omelettes, they are very tasty. Although I had to wait 5 minutes for them to refill the red snapper and the rice, it was worth the wait. There wasn't much of a choice for the breakfast portion. They served french toast, sausage, and eggs and omelettes. I had hoped for some fried potatoes with bell peppers and onions, and pancakes too. Also, I had wished that they would include diced chicken or turkey as a meat item instead of just the ham and shrimp as the only options.

My wife and I came at the end of a long day of sightseeing (and eating) for our 10 year wedding anniversary, so one of us ordered the soup, the other a salad, and we split a fillet. We expected 'forks across the table' from one plate. The waiter didn't blink an eye; when the fillet arrived; It was neatly divided between two plates and arranged esthetically. Wonderful service. There was nothing innovative about the menu. Its solid food at a solid price, cooked perfectly. We came for supper, but the Lunch and Supper menu are the same. You can have a wonderful relaxing dinner on a budget ($10 burger or $12 Fish&Chips) or splurge on Steak&Lobster, all on the same menu. :) The view was spectacular, even if the venue was a little run down.

Although the service could have been better (the menu didn't say how big 2 of the 3 steaks were, and our waiter had to go ask the cook) the food was good. Portion sizes were above average and selection range was reasonable. The menu was not overwhelmingly original, but did contain a solid presentation of classic dishes. The ambiance inside the restaurant is OK but not great, although the large facility does make it easier to get window tables, which is significant since the restaurant sits on the water and window tables have a great view of the bay.
