Diner Reviews
  • "My husband and I went to have a romantic valentines dinner, but that is not what we got! It was very bright in the mezzanine. The music was very far away and sounded like it should have been in a Mexican reataurant, not a valentines celebration. The food was good, but our server bought our food so fast that we were in and out in a little over a hour. It was not what we expected or wanted at all!"

  • "The Hotel Boulderado is one of those places that screams romance. The old style charm and tradition is refreshing in our constantly changing, constantly updating world. It is wonderful to have a place like this to go to where you can get lost in the one you came with while the rest of the world slips away."

  • "Definitely THE place to go for high tea. Next time we will opt for the champagne, too. Delicious little sandwiches and desserts and a special tray for our vegetarian, too. We were seated next to the balcony overlooking the 3 story tall live Christmas tree in the lobby! Wow! Reservations are a must because this is a sold out event every Christmas."

  • "I've been to this a few years in a row and this year things seemed to fall off quite a bit. I probably won't be going next year."

  • "Nicholas and I had an overall disappointing evening, and I will be sending a full letter of review detailing our poor experience. And as for "Noise level", too loud, and annoying."

  • "The Holiday Dinner event at the Boulderado combined excellent food, with a beautiful hotel, in the wonderful town of Boulder, CO. We decided to travel for the Christmas holiday this year, and I am so glad that we chose the Boulderado for both dining and our hotel stay. The holiday dinner had many, wonderful food choices and did not skimp on dessert either! I would highly recommend this dining experience to others who will be in Boulder during the holidays - whether they live there or are travelling. The only caution, is to book your dinner reservations early, because I hear that they sold out quickly."

  • "The holiday buffet at the Hotel Boulderado seems to be getting too large for them to handle. We have been going there for seven years, and this year the food was not as tasty, and the service was poor. The wait staff does not have to do much, because it is a buffet, but our tables were not cleared when we went for seconds, our water glasses were not attended to, and we waited ten minutes after being seated to be asked if we wanted drinks. The roast beef was tough, and cut to thickly. The chicken was also tough, and the Mediterranean themed fish flavors did not blend with the holiday meal flavors. The steamed vegetables were nice, but for the price of the meal (over $50 per person), one would expect the vegetables to be better."

  • "We really enjoy the Holiday Tea, a tradition with our family. The tree was amazing as always, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Good food, great ambiance, a good time was had by all."

  • "My friends and I had a wonderful time at the tea. We were seated promptly at our own table at our reservation time. The hotel was decorated magnificently. A children's choir singing carols entertained several times during our tea. The tea sandwiches were good but the scones were rock hard and I found them inedible. The sweets were plentiful and most were very good. The hotel added 20% gratuity onto the bill so watch out. We used valet parking which was unbelievably reasonable at 1.25 per hour."

  • "I normally really enjoy our teas at The Hotel Boulderado. We had booked the tea for the time the Boulder Chorale would be singing. However, by having it in the mezzanine the Chorale had to stand on the staircase. As one of the larger tables, we were seated in a far corner and as a result could not hear the music."

  • "My daughter and I attended the holiday tea. We had a wonderful time and loved the carolers. We plan on making this an annual event."

  • "It was very convenient to have Thanksgiving dinner at the hotel . There were many food choices. However, the food overall was only fair."
