  • "It was out first visit. The restaurant looked great and the atmosphere very nice. Unfortunately they seated us in the basement with no windows and poor lighting. I can't believe they seat guests down there without notifying you of where you're going!! Very disappointing!"

  • "The food was excellent. Our waitress was great at recommending wines and food as well. It was our first time and will not be our last!! Thanks you!!"

  • "Great place to go before a concert at Chastain. Great food, nice wine selection. . .no need to carry those darn baskets and coolers to the venue. We have had great food here several times a year, for many years, and have always had a great time."

  • "Kicked up American comfort food, relaxed atmosphere, decent wine list and great service makes this a good choice anytime."

  • "The food and ambience were great but the portions are ridiculously small! We left hungry after eating brunch there."

  • "Loud, cramped dining room, disinterested waiter--had no response when told bar drinks were watery, food was prepared well though"

  • "My mother and I went one Sunday for brunch, I read all the reviews and was excited. The food was good but nothing I would write home about, would I go back? Maybe. But probably for a different meal to see if I would ever eat there again. The service was what bugged me. Our waitress was nice but we didn't find out about the specials until the waiter at the next table told his table, that was a tad disappointing. Maybe we didn't get a good waiter this time but for the prices and the area I expect for them to be bother knowledgeable and at least pretend to be happy they're at work (I work retail I know it's not always the most fun to be at work haha) overall it was good but I would go somewhere new before there."

  • "We were going to Chastain for the first time and wanted a restaurant close by so we only had to park once and walk to the concert. We waited at the bar and had a very generous pour on our Martina's from proffessional, sharp, efficient bartenders. We sat in a booth and noticed immediately that the music was not too loud and the lighting was bright enough to see your food. Both are deal breakers for me when eating out. The wait staff are quirky professional waiters. They are very attentive. The food comes out quickly and hot. But the best part is the amazing food. On the blackened shrimp and the prime rib special both dishes came with amazing sides and "lick your plate clean". sauces. Best biscuits and butter I ever had"

  • "Perfect place to meet up for a dinner before a show at Chastain- they'll let you leave your car and walk to show after meal. Food was great, fun space"

  • "Took my grown son here before a concert at Chastain. I knew he'd enjoy the place, fun to introduce him to one of my favorite places. Sure enough he was intrigued by the diverse and creative menu, selected an adventurous appetizer, and loved every bit. I wouldn't be surprised if he chose this spot for a special occasion with his wife."

  • "I wish I could bring Horseradish Grill to NY. I found it on open table and invited a friend from GA who, when he heard we were going there, said "its a great place, you won't be disappointed." I wasn't - The smashed cake was delicious but the best was the peach cobbler. I finally found the best in town."

  • "Tried duck dish and total fat. Braised collards were overdone and chewy and unedible. Other dish was fine. Not coming back"

  • "We were disappointed with our most recent visit to Horseradish Grill. The skillet fried chicken is one of my favorites. It was barely edible. the crust was not krispy and the meat was dry. In fact, there was flour coating between the outer crust and the meat of the breast. When I cut into it dry flour came out. The mac and cheese side was good as usual as well as the beans that come with it. My husband ordered the ribeye special and it was adequate, but for the price, felt a better steak could have been had elsewhere. The highlight of the meal were the cream cheese mashed potatoes, they were creamy and flavorful, I would have loved to have had them with my chicken."

  • "There was a table seated inside and a couple outside where we chose to sit. One would assume that with only three table seated, that service would be prompt. We were given brunch menus & my friend requested a lunch menu - which she was given. When the server finally arrived, we ordered off the lunch menu. Several minutes later, the server tells us that we cannot order lunch. When food did arrive, I was disappointed with the fried green tomatoes. The tomato was VERY unripe - and had no flavor or tang to it. I've had them before @ HG and know what a good one tastes like. There is obviously something amiss as the restaurant only seated another two couples while we were there - it was virtually empty."

  • "We had a nice table near the front near the windows that overlooked the patio tables. We had outstanding service on a Friday night at 7ish. We ordered steak, venison meat loaf, and lamb. The food was amazing--- big portions and excellent wine list."

  • "A rainy weeknight found us at a quiet HG with a smattering of older locals there at small tables. We're usually fans of bar seating, but I must say this was a bit of a let-down. The bar was VERY quiet, and the bartender had to keep coming out from behind the bar to serve us. We could tell he was NOT please about it, but the food was (as always) excellent. My recommendation - move to the dining room to eat, and try the best fried green tomatoes in the city!"

  • "Had no idea this place was next to Chastain Park and we were eating along with the concert-goers! Seemed like the perfect way to begin a concert night at Chastain and I will remember that for future reference. Food and wine were delicious!"

  • "Great job from the car valet to our hostess and terrific waiter. We spilled a glass of water and they were right there. I had the eggs benedict - a 10!. My daughter had the chicken sandwich with Pimento and fried green tomato. She raved about it. We'll be back!"

  • "...is now mine. What a lovely, unrushed, fantastic way to start the first day of summer. Had the brunch special, recommended by expert wait staff, with a glass of Dry Creek savignon blanc, followed by an oatmeal dessert with caramel ice cream and coffee. Heaven in Chastain Park!"

  • "Bad overpriced food. 4 small slices of cold fried green tomatoes for $10.00...ridiculous. Out of fish at 7:00PM and the biscuits were cold and hard. What else can I say...no more at this restaurant!!"

  • "Great place for dinner before concerts at Chastain."

  • "We arrived at 6:30 for a 6:45 reservation prior to an 8:00 concert. After telling the hostess many times of our time crunch. We promptly ordered and explained our dilemma to the waitress. A rain storm did happen and people dining would not leave. After communicating our time crunch to the very understanding hostess, we were seated at 7:35. We told the waitress of our situation and ordered drinks and meal as soon as she came to our table getting at the table. After 10 more minutes and no sight of our waitress we left and explained to the hostess we were leaving because we were not going to miss the opening of the concert. A shame because the food is good when we have dined there before."

  • "Horseradish is a wonderful place with an interesting menu. Very reliable, and the perfect place to gather before concerts up the street at Chastain."

  • "We always one here for special occasions. This time we were very disappointed. The food was pretty good but potions were very small We told them it was my husband's birthday as well as Father's Day. They never brought anything for his birthday. The cocktails took a very long time to come. Not sure I would go back."

  • "I was not impressed at all with the food at Horseradish Grill. The vegetables were bland, the steak was poorly cooked, and the beets did not seem fresh. There are quite a few other spots in Atlanta with the same price point where the food just blows this place away. The service was good, place was pretty, but overall not worth it to me. Floataway Cafe or Woodfire Grill have much better food."

  • "I have dined at Horseradish Grill periodically over the years and have always been pleased with the ambience and food. Wednesday night I ordered a green salad and rack of lamb. The salad was delicious but the lamb was very disappointing. At $28 I was shocked to find two chops from the rack which were 10% lean and 90% fat. I think I had two bites of lean meat from each chop. Luckily the side vegetables were very good so I didn't go away hungry. I chose not to make an issue of this because it was a special occasion."

  • "We came on a Monday night and I have to say the food was underwhelming. We used to eat here once a month, but have backed off because the food was not great all around. Their apps are fab, and the desserts rock, but the entrees are just not hitting it for me and my family. My husband did love the fried chicken, my veggie plate was awful and the venison meatloaf was not great."

  • "You can't go wrong when you go to the Horseradish Girl. The outdoor patio is a small botanical oasis. The staff if friendly and food is consistently good. You'll need to be polished and pressed when you go. It's in a very posh neighborhood, a bit like you are eating at the Golfer's Clubhouse, so make sure you and your kids dress well. It's casual, but seriously preppy chic."

  • "Service was bad and the mood for the night was set with the SUPER surly hostess. Going out to eat should be pleasant and the hostess was anything but."

  • "What a lovely place to have a luncheon with a friend. The ambiance and service promote a quiet atmosphere so one can converse at a normal conversational noise level, and enjoy some of the best food in the area. I was very pleased with my visit there, and will return."
