Diner Reviews
  • "I love restaurants that have out their own twist on dishes and made them spectacular and that's exactly what you'll find at Horseradish Grill. It is directly across from beautiful Chastain Park with complimentary valet parking. I invited two friends who were visiting from out of town and they were very pleased with the food, ambience, noise level, service and view. It made a great first impression,"

  • "Brought an out of town guest and enjoyed his excitement. The fried green tomatoes were great. Our table shared the sausage and blueberry pancakes, as well. Wonderful. The poached egg and pork shoulder was a win, as well. Yum. Our wait staff was fantastic and tolerated our inability to make up our mind by offering us more mouth watering options as daily specials. Not fair."

  • "I took my mother here for lunch and the dining experience was great. Each time I have been to the Horseradish Grill I have enjoyed myself. The food and the service here is superb."

  • "my hotel recommended this restaurant and I was attracted by the upscale southern menu. I was disappointed. The biscuits were so dry they fell apart and the "duck two ways" was really duck with BBQ sauce on it. When I barely ate anything many came by and commented on it, including the manager, and nothing was done about it. VERY limited wine list."

  • "For how expensive it is, there are many more restaurants in Atlanta that exceed this place from a food and service perspective."

  • "Brunch on Sunday for me is best when the food's great, the service is attentive and the atmosphere isn't too frantic. That perfectly describes my Sunday brunch at Horseradish Grill. I had the shrimp and grits, recommended by our server as one of the spot's most popular dishes, and it lived up to that popularity. Spicy, creamy, and delicious, with shrimp cooked just right, and sausage to make it interesting. Tender, flaky biscuits come on the side -- force yourself NOT to fill up on them before entrees arrive! I'll be back!"

  • "We had a large family brunch at the Horseradish Grill and it was a delightful experience. Our party of six was very comfortable in one of their large booths, the dining area was bright and lively. It was a little chilly on this trip, but they also offer a nice outdoor area. We had two appetizers, the fried green tomatoes and the bread basket. They were both good, but the bread basket was spectacular and a "must try" for anyone new to the Grill. Everyone in our group enjoyed their entre, and the selections included steak and eggs, salmon omelette, and eggs benedict. I had eggs benedict and was pleased with getting real Virginia ham and herb biscuit instead of the normal fare at most restaurants."

  • "Everything was just right. We were seated on time. The staff was attentive. The owner checked on our needs several times; I was impressed! The food was well prepared and well presented. The clientele was very upscale and in a festive mood. The bar scene was warm and friendly. A wonderful Atlanta tradition."

  • "The pork shank was delicious, as always. Paired with the fired green tomatoes and the fish fry appetizers, it made for a great meal."

  • "I was introduced to horseradish grill last year by my cousin. I decided to take my mother for her birthday and everything was terrfic."

  • "Saw great reviews for this venue online and heard from a friend. Went for a nice date night and the food was great. I had the rack of lamb and she had the salmon. It was phenomenal. Presentation was great, bottle service was also a nice touch. Only downfall is that our table for 2 was pretty close to other tables. I could've literally touched the guy next to me with my elbow. But other than that, great dining experience and would definitely go again for that occasional nice meal."

  • "HRG has been around a long time. It was always a wonderful restaurant and had a nice, warm ambiance. Two couples who hadn't been there in years went for Sunday Brunch hoping it was still good. It was great, the food was excellent and still a great setting. Only complaint was the service was a little "scratchy". The waiter we had was not very attentive but other members of the staff jumped in to help. Overall, a very pleasant experience. I would highly recommend it."

  • "Overall the food was fresh and flavorful and the service was very good. Our only issue was the price given what we ordered and the portion the Price point was a little high. Enough so that we probably would only visit for a special occasion."

  • "Beautiful location first and foremost. I got to enjoy natural views within the comfort of their dining room. Looked like a great outdoor patio all surrounded by trees. For me, it is really important to eat at a place that is knowledgable about where their food comes from. I have no tolerance for anything processed. They have a great garden and care about who their vendors are and from where the food comes. I enjoyed the selection on the menu, great wine choices, and very knowledgable staff. The person with my has an intolerance to Gluten and the server was very well-educated on the menu and do's and don'ts of gluten-free."

  • "The server brought items too quickly didn't have time to finish one before next was presented. Had to ask them to bring one @ a time. We had 8:00 reservations and it gave the impression they wanted to go home! It was not a busy night which is rare! Absolutely love the Horseradish Grill. # 1 on my list when I visit Atlanta!! Bravo!!"

  • "We generally love to come to Horseradish Grill. We aren't regulars, but we do come several times a year. This time, we had a reservation at 8PM, but when we arrived, the host very flippantly told us "Yeah... we don't have anything available yet, sooo..." and he just gestured to the bar. He was so rude that we almost walked out. We waited about 20 minutes before getting a table. I'm glad we stayed b/c the food was great, but they were already out of the special and they were out of the wine that we ordered... that said, the wine recommendation we received as a substitute was outstanding... as their recommendations generally are. Net net... it was still a very nice evening, just a bit off..."

  • "We were seated right away at an awesome table outside. They were really busy and the waiter forgot to ask how I wanted my burger but I forgot too. It was rare on the inside, but I ate the outside and didn't send it back There was an egg on top that I did send back to cook all the way through - in retrospect I should have ordered something else. Later a piece of red velvet cake showed up compliments of the restaurant for the slower than usual service. I have been to this restaurant many times and will be back."

  • "Went here because of the hype. Rachel Ray, and others raved about the hidden gem in the swanky Buckhead area of Atlanta. But from service to the food. It was just blah. Not horrible but definitely not worth what I paid."

  • "I appreciate the attention to southern cuisine. It feels authentic here in the menu and the ambience. The tables are a bit too close together for my taste, it's impossible to ignore what your neighbor is eating, saying. Nice restaurant though. I'd go back, but it won't be a "regular" restaurant for us."
    Dined on 2/28/2014
  • "The food never disappoints, my only disappointment was where we were seated. We were a table do two and were placed almost in the center of the room while the restaurant was almost empty."
    Dined on 2/28/2014
  • "Excellent southern themed restaraunt with something for everyone. Sizable portions and plenty of variety and reasonably priced. The location and ambience make this a good place for a date or just an outing. There is also plenty of outdoor seating."
    Dined on 2/25/2014
  • "I must have picked the wrong thing off of the menu...the pork shoulder plate. The pork was way too watery and basically just a plate of mush. I like the atmosphere and will probably go back to give it a second opinion."

  • "A Great place to dine and entertain. Never a miss for a group and the reason they are around all these years later is the fact that they know who they are are what they do.... GREAT JOB!"

  • "The ambiance has a feel like home. Love their vegetable plate and trout. Fresh biscuits and jam for bread service is such a treat. We love this restaurant."

  • "We have frequented Horseradish Grill many times in the past, but it had been several years since our last visit and we were looking forward to the wonderful food and impeccable service that we had received over the years. The food was good, but, more than 20 minutes after we were seated , we were still waiting for the waiter to take our cocktail order. We had to ask someone to track him down. Then, we waited another long while before he returned to take our food order....again, we had to get up from our table and ask another member of the wait staff to please contact our waiter for service. We love the food and ambiance at this restaurant, but the service issue is inexcusable at a restaurant of this caliber."

  • "This used to be a great restaurant. Now it is mediocre. Service is very poor and the food is average. I will not return for dinner but I will admit I will still do lunch here. Good lunch menu and not crowded."

  • "Very nice eatery with great parking. Roomier than it looks from the exterior. Our only complaint was the delay in seating even with a reservation, not real long but too long. Once seated, the service was good. The food was good with generous portions, but the vegetables were a little dry for our tastes."

  • "I've enjoyed lunch and dinner here before, but both the food and loud booth behind me, left me wishing I we had gone elswhere."

  • "Overall very pleased with service and food however, would have liked to have been seated in a booth for privacy vs table for four in the middle of the dining room"

  • "HRG has been consistently very good in all visits. The atmosphere is cozy but sophisticated. Food, while a little pricy is very good with a wide selection. Service was outstanding. Dining there you feel you are in someone's home. Wish they had a bar menu though. it is a great area and we don't always want a full meal. Had duck and lamb with spinach salad and all were excellent. Pecan pie was one of the best."
