Horseradish Grill - BuckheadWe recently had brunch here.We recently had brunch here. I loved the menu because of its range of both traditional and non-traditional brunch choices - for starters, entrees, and desserts. Best of all was the service. We began outside and enjoyed our starters but soon the rains came. The staff was extremely helpful in getting us inside, keeping our just-served entrees from getting wet, bringing extra napkins to help us dry off, etc. I hadn't been to the Horseradish Grill for several years, but will not make that mistake again.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMSpecial SouthernThe tuna was exceptional accompanied by farro with red peppers and swischard. A d be sure to try dessert, banana coconut cream pie or spice cake with caramel ice cream. Delicious. Such a nice casual venue. Lots of energy.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMHi
This is my second timeHi
This is my second time there. Several of my close friends invited me there for a Pre- Mother's Day Brunch. It was fabulous and so was the service we rec'd from our waiter...Mike.
This time, it was at noon I took two my closest friends there and both ladies enjoyed both the food and the service. This second group of ladies, we are True Foodies!
Mike was again, our waiter. :-)
Arlice Prince6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat neighborhood atomosphereThe restaurant itself is so pretty and the setting is great. Nice outdoor patio and overall just a fun place to have a good southern dinner. Great for out of town guests to experience Grit fritters and fried green tomatoes.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good food, outstanding serviceI had the cornbread crusted pork chop with braised greens and gouda grits. The pork chop was crispy on the outside but still juicy on the inside - perfectly cooked. The greens were sweet and peppery while the grits were rich and creamy; they complimented each other perfectly. My only complaint is about the pecan pie I chose for dessert, based on the waiter's recommendation. The crust was flaky and the custard was sweet and buttery but it needed molasses. More importantly, there was only a thin layer of pecan halves on top of the pie, nothing in the custard. In my humble opinion, a pecan pie's custard to pecan ratio should be at least 50/50. That minor complaint aside, I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Our waiter was friendly and attentive.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMMmm...good!What a cool looking place with great ambiance. Good food for a decent price. It is definitely a "foodie" destination. Would definitely recommend!5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMGem in ChastainInteresting food choices, fantastic service, and great ambiance. Can't wait to go back during Christmas, to see how they will decorate. This restaurant is high on charm factor.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMRecent Dining ExperienceWe have dined at HRG numerous times over the past 14 years and have always enjoyed the occasion. During good weather the patio is an especially enjoyable spot to dine, which is where we dined this past time. I would however suggest an umbrella for every table. Our table was one of two without an umbrella and I think it diminishes the experience a little bit. I have also noted that the cost of dining at HRG, like most other things in life, has risen steadily but has reached a relatively high level, particularly in this economy. While the value of the experience was worth the cost, it does tend to make HRG a "special occasion" kind of place rather than a regular dining spot.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMAnniversary DinnerChose HRG for a midweek anniversary dinner. We have been to HRG several times socially and for business dining. I had always elected one of the wood grilled entrees during my past visits, but had always wanted to try the fried chicken - and now have a new favorite. Moved over to the bar after dinner and was able to keep a discrete eye on the Braves game over drinks. Great food, great service, great ambiance, great location - always a good choice.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother great mealEnjoyed another great meal at Horseradish Grill. Food and service were very good.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMMeeting people at Horseradish grillGreat time at outdoors section....close prox of others diners led to cross table friendly dialogue....fun5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWe live in the neighborhoodWe live in the neighborhood and love coming to Horseradish. We just wish they would spray for mosquitoes so we could sit outside this time if year. There are plenty of companies that could spray just the patio area and not impact the garden in the back. It would make for a much more pleasant dining experience.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMSome-kid friendlyI indicated that the restaurant is kid friendly. It is and it isn't. It is b/c (for example) they even had kiddie potty seats for your smaller ones, but it also is a nice and pricy restaurant where people go to have "grown up" and special occasion dinners. So while I would happily take my well-behaved 10 or 12 year old, I don't think (despite the awesome potty seats) I will take my 2 and 4 year olds. I love the idea of a high-quality restaurant with great food offerings that does work for families -- I mean I REALLY love it -- but I would hesitate to take my own small kids out of respect for others who are trying to have a special night out.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMService was very slow. TheyService was very slow. They brought me a steak but failed to give me a steak knife. I had to ask twice for one before I finally got one. Waiter forgot we ordered an appetizer. Aside from the service, the food was pretty good.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went on a concert nightWe went on a concert night and the place was lively. Had a great table and our waiter was very good. Had the bone-in pork chop, medium rare and it was cooked perfectly and was delicious. We go here about once a month and it's a reliable place to settle in.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways solidWe love Horseradish Grill. The apps are yummy and we love the trout and pork chop but have also had many good specials. Great patio when the weather permits.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMFried Chicken was burnedI've always come here for the southern fired chicken, as this is one of the few restaurants serving it. This time it was overly dark on the outside and kind of gooey inside.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious food and super wines.Delicious food and super wines. Great place to go befor a Chastain Park concert. Beware that the noise level when the restaurant is full is extremely loud in the main dining area. We were screaming to be heard. That's the only drawback. Otherwise, the beet and chopped salads were superb and the sesame crusted salmon was tasty!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMfabulous as alway....chickenfabulous as alway....chicken was undercooked twice!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMThe menu is exceptional. SouthernThe menu is exceptional. Southern favorites with just enough of a twist to make them current. The addition of sweet potato and butternut squash keep these tasty dishes healthy. My first time, and certainly worth another visit.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMI thoroughly enjoyed my firstI thoroughly enjoyed my first visit & will go again… loved everything about the experience.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMFood preparation and presentationFood preparation and presentation were very good. The service was not to the caliber of the food or ambiance of the restaurant. Server tried, two times, to clear our places before we were done and took our biscuits and butter plates away halfway during our main course.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMA must in AtlantaGreat menu, fantastic service, and very friendly owners. This was my first trip to the restaurant and I was very impressed with the food and service. A great place to entertain or take that special someone.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMexcellent southern inspiredexcellent southern inspired menu. Service exceptional. Outdoor dining a plus.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMLOVED IT!Dined on the patio of this quaint restaurant. The food was so good! A modern southern restaurant that keeps the southern flavors but still offers a fine dining quality. The service was great from the appetizers to my main course to dessert! It's altogether a great place and definitely recommended!4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMEaster Brunch with the familyEaster Brunch with the family outside, and it was delightful. Food was great, outside seating is perfectly hidden with the massive hedge. A great use of an old horse barn. Been going to this restaurant for 20 years, and it's always consistently great, while keeping the charm you'd expect from a neighborhood destination. We'll be back!4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMOur second visit was justOur second visit was just as good as the first. The food was fantastic and the service was excellent. The flank steak was cooked perfectly and was delicious. We don't drink, so I can't comment on the wine list or the bar. We ate inside, but the outs side area looked very nice and many people were enjoying it. Overall, it was a beautiful evening.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGrill nee Red BarnNot our first time at the former Red Barn. Always like to dine at the Grill when we are in Atlanta. Only disappointment was the waiter left the dessert menu at our table and I had to go search him out to get him to come back to take our order. By the time he got their our guests had lost their appetite and declined. Otherwise the service was excellent. One of our diners had a poor experience with a side dish but the food is always superb and the fried green tomatoes are to die for! Peace, R.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMThe restaurant is in an oldThe restaurant is in an old home and has beautiful garden. Patio seats would be fantastic in the summer. The food is southern in flavor and very well prepared and presented. However, southern cooking may not be to everyone's taste. The service is outstandinf. The waiter was knowledgeable and never rushed us. The wine list has a few good wines - but they could improve it a bit and may be think of reducing the wine prices bit.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing Food and Great service! We had gone based on the reviews of brunch being excellent. Dinner was better than we expected and we will be sure to return. I look forward to dining outside once the weather is better.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMDisappointedWe went for my birthday lunch to have fried chicken at the yummy whole okra appetizer. Neither were on the menu. There wasn't much on the menu that any of us wanted, but we stayed. The fries were real fries; tasted like potato. Very good The medium burger was served very rare.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMWent there for anniversary.Went there for anniversary. Loved the place but noticed there were lots of kids!3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat service and the foodGreat service and the food was phenomenal. I went for brunch for the first time which, like dinner, was amazing.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Dinner ... Exceptional waiterWe went here for a business dinner, and both my colleague and I were from out of town. Really exceptional.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a Rave ReviewA favorite for us when we have out of town visitors or when we just want to treat ourselves. Our guests have now come from out of town on three different occasions and have requested this restaurant each time. The scallops were the star attraction this past Saturday night.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and a good placeGreat food and a good place for out of town guests. Food is always fresh and served hot.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for out of town guests!Great for out of town guests! Our friend from the Northwest had shrimp and grits and fried green tomatoes for the first time. Such a fun and beautiful spot for visitors. Great for everyday dining for us locals too!3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMOut of town guests reallyOut of town guests really enjoyed the Southern menu3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMdiamond in the roughI cant say enough about this place their menu was fantastic, David the bartender was great the hostess was great. David had me try a potato vodka which was very nice. Met a nice group of people at the bar. I had the soup and steak, really really good.Place was hopping when we got there, kind of slowed down after the major rush. They have Peju by the glass which really took the place over the top. Will be back!2/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
