"We ate outside on a beautiful evening, so our whole experience was enhanced by the weather and the lovely outdoor patio. That being said, the food was good and the service was good, so overall, we had a very good experience. I live on the other side of town, and this evening was definitely worth the drive."

"I had not been in such a long time I had forgotten what a lovely place it is. The food was very good. The house-like building surrounded by beautiful gardens right across the road from Chastain Park is one of the most scenic restaurant spots in town. The service was warm, friendly and efficient. The food was good preparations of Southern staples. Do not go for dramatic new food ingredient pairings or innovative recipes. The food is very well prepared and presented and traditional. Sometimes that is just what you are looking for. We loved the Georgia trout and Florida Grouper. The fried okra and green tomatoes were good but surprisingly not as good as the entrees. All the portions were immense but so good that we polished them off."

"The service could definitely be improved (Normally, it is quite good). Our waiter was more than adequate. The people delivering the food shoved it in front of us like they were throwing hot dogs in a baseball park. The bus person, did not wait until everyone had finished the course before clearing the table. As each person finished, he grabbed the plates and took them away. I finally had to ask him to stop doing that.

We had guests from Great Britain and had told them that this was the finest "southern cooking" restaurant in Atlanta. What an embarassment!"

"Everything was cooked perfectly. Trout was farm raised, not wild caught but done really well. The fish was not only not overcooked but cooked well. Grits with the trout were fab, whipped with what I assume, was heavy cream. Prime rib was good and again the side parings were spot on. Biscuits were house made and very 'new south'. Deserts were shamefully good. Portions a bit large. Service was good. There was no wait with a reservation. Give the place a go. Outside seating was done well and tasteful. A little close to the street, but is was a Sunday so it was quiet. Bring everything from your mom on mothers day to a special night with your partner, to a first date. It works all the way around"
