Hopmonk Tavern- NovatoGreat experienceWe were planning my 12 years old boy’s dinner with 5 friends to a nearby restaurant, Chevys. However, my friend Jenni Lin invited me to see/hear her husband's band playing at Hop Monk. Well, we decided to move our birthday dinner to Hop Monk instead and it couldn't have been a better option, the boys had a great time sitting outside, the food was super good, the wine was excellent, the service was super, super great, our waitress was very accommodating and fantastic, and of course, the music was awesome! Thanks to them we showed up and now we will always think of Hop Monk first for any outing, celebration, or just to go out for a great eating experience.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for outdoor diningThe large outdoor dining area is wonderful on a nice day or evening. The food varied from good to great. We especially enjoyed the artichoke appetizer - it qualified as great. We were pleasantly surprised by their open patio design, large tables for groups and extensive beer menu. We had fun sampling several beers, had good pub food and had a fabulous time at the music show. There are 3 large flat screen TV's that are crystal clear - the music that was playing in the restaurant made perfect background music for a game. The dessert portions could be shared with 4 people. We did not realize this until 3 desserts arrived for 4 people. we liked it in there so we ate dinner in the bar area. Food was really good, however the steak was pre cut in pieces
