Diner Reviews
  • "Amazing everything!! Food, service, location. I found this place walking around and so happy I did. I am definitely coming back and bringing 20 of my closes friends!"

  • "Great food. Good beer selection. Fantastic Happy Hour offerings. Low key but far from low brow. I immediately recommended Hope Garage to my friends who live in the neighborhood. Great find off the main strip in Billy'sburg."

  • "Dull menu. Lackluster service. Way too loud happy hour patrons. Chef looked like a zombie when he came out to get a drink from the bar. Scared to eat after seeing him so we just had a quick appetizer and drinks before beating it to another restaurant for mains. More like No Hope Garage. "

  • "You get the feeling that all who work at Hope Garage have a vesting interest in it's success, not just monetary but the staff wants to create a place that all can come and have a genuinely enjoyable time. So many places, especially in this neighborhood are all about what's trendy but HG anyone and everyone can have a great time! Young and old. Regular Joe's and Hipsters. You feel welcomed - namely by the stunning Amanda (head server) who is not merely just easy on the eyes but is personable, funny, knowledgeable about the menu and attentive to every customer's needs. The ambiance works perfectly for this little garage from the music, to the seating arrangement to the intentionally run down newspaper wallpaper. HG is the gem of Williamsburg!"

  • "Not good service, which was sad, considering there were about 4-5 tables there. Besides that, great!"

  • "I frequently go to Hope Garage and am always pleased. They have a great happy hour and I have not tried anything on the menu I did not like. Have not gone for brunch but the menu will make you drool. The service is always on point also. All around an awesome experience!!"

  • "Went with friend for BRUNCH and was blown away by food. Mini doughnuts were warm, moist & relish. Chicken & Waffles were excellent and Mambo sauce was so good I asked for one to go! Fritatta was also great! Drinks were creative, fun & super yummy. I had 3 Bloody Mary's w/Jalepeno infused vodka and wanted to keep on going! Prices very reasonable for NYC and loved the ambience. Will definitely go back again….and again…and again. Manager, hostesses were friendly and engaging!"

  • "Please don't go here for a meal. Nothing special. They went out and bought pound cake and topped it with strawberries and call it " strawberry shortcake". The bought chocolate flavored jello pudding and placed banana slices as another desert. The apple pie with ice cream was gross. The steak overlooked. The fish bland. The whole meal for a group of 7 was just a disaster."

  • "Went for brunch on a Saturday with my husband. Had a reservation, but no need...it wasn't crowded at all. The service was friendly & attentive. The chicken & waffles were very good, crispy, not greasy although perhaps the chicken was a touch overdone. Better slightly over then under though! The banana French toast was very good as well. Light, flavorful & not too eggy. We also had a Bellini (pear) & a jalapeño Bloody Mary. Both were tasty. Found out the kitchen is open till 4am. We would go back."

  • "Fantastic brunch! Exceptional food, service, and value for the neighborhood. Considering what a wonderful experience we had here, in addition to the fact that HG takes credit cards AND reservations for weekend brunch (again, alien to this neighborhood!), we will be coming back often! Can't wait to try the dinner menu..."

  • "We really liked that we could book a reservation at this place in the hood for Sunday brunch, so many places don't take reservations. The space is cool, the music was great and the service friendly. The food honestly though was just OK, everything seemed overcooked. Our highlight of the meal were the yummy cocktails and the bread basket. I wouldn't recommend for brunch unfortunately but I'd give this place another try for dinner."

  • "Went here for dinner with a couple of my girlfriends. They were very attentive upon arriving. They had music playing and the football game on which was entertaining to watch while eating. We had the mac n cheese and its by far one of the best I had. We had the wings that came with a blue cheese fondue which was very addicting. We shared the Steak and Salmon. Found out they serve brunch till 6pm and def would want to give that a try when I have time."

  • "I don't know how do they open places like this. Drinks are a few liquors mixed with syrups. Just ok. We tried both soups and were ok. The grilled cheese sandwich was ok and the chicken was like a one week ago left over. We returned and the waiter said that they already have problems with the dish. I won't return."
