Hooked Seafood & SushiAlthough it took a while forAlthough it took a while for the food to be delivered to the table, all three dishes were delicious!6/16/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome!Never ate sushi before I went here. Lobster tempura was AMAZING! The only reason I give it 4 stars for food is because the steak was extremely bland. Seafood & sushi was FANTASTIC! Great reasonably priced mixed drinks as well.6/16/2013 12:00:00 AMMonday Night SerenityWhat a treat!
The sushi was fresh, firm, and flavorful. The Goose very cold, in chilled glasses, with panache. I was brightly greeted at the door as I entered. The entire establishment conveyed an aura of a seasoned restaurant, ready and eager to please their customers.
Too many restaurants seem to want to crank the music to the highest level, rendering the entire environment a maelstrom of noise, where one needs to shout to be heard. Not in this case - although the place was only moderately busy, the environment was GREAT for conversing.
Across the board, Hooked met every mark. Although I'm cynical, critiquing, and very hard-to-please, I was *extremely* impressed with Hooked, on many levels, and I will visit there again soon.6/10/2013 12:00:00 AMSimply amazingIt was really good...The crabcakes were excellent. Outstanding and friendly service6/10/2013 12:00:00 AMDelightful SeafoodHooked turned out to be a terrific destination for brunch with my wife and I . Looked it up online and the lobster omelet just had to be investigated. Knew we would be in D.C. for a game on Saturday night booked the reservations and headed that way. The place has very modern decor without over doing it! The mimosas were made just right. The entrees were very good ( tough to decide due to a well rounded menu) . Very enjoyable experience . Next time we are even close to the area we will be eating there!
Tim Holmes6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and serviceMy family goes here about once a month. We enjoy good sushi, pasta, lobster risotto, good mojitoes, and also great calamari. The service is great. My 4 year old chose this restaurant for his Birthday dinner.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious food, ok serviceThe food was excellent in both presentation, and in taste. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable, but he needed to be a little better at following up with us. For instance, plates were slow to be cleared off the table, water glasses were never refilled, and there were delays in followup for the different courses(e.g. checking for dessert, and then taking the order). Even so, that can be easily remedied with more training, so I would still be happy to recommend Hooked to friends and my Wife and I will return soon.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Sushi MenuAlways our go-to place for sushi but love their crab bisque and miso soup as well. Nice selection of entrees with something for non-seafood lovers as well.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat seafood and !Being from the Pacific Northwest and used to fabulous seafood everywhere, we were pleasantly surprised when our daughter took us to Hooked. Our Dungeness crab in the Northwest is still the BEST but the Clay Pot with mussels, scallops and shrimp in coconut sauce over rice was very, very good. Husband loved his steak and lump crab cake. Daughter and her husband have been here several times and it's one of their favorites. On Mother's Day on my previous visit, we had brunch at Hooked, sat outside and the Gin Hook was a delightful drink. The shrimp and grits was very yummy.
I don't like strip mall locations but this is a restaurant that is an exception- would highly recommend!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGood dinnerI had the Halibut which was perfectly cooked and my wife had the crab cake sandwich
which was good. House salad was nicely prepared. Cheesecake for dessert was very good.
Only complaint is the fries with the sandwich were not crisp.
Overall, a very nice dinner.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious LunchMy husband and I enjoyed a quiet lunch at Hooked. The food was great as was the service. We went early, so it was not busy. This was our first visit and we will definitely go back!5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMMomma Loves MeBrought Mom into Hooked for Mother's Day. She has discerning tastes & now that she is retired we are even further challenged. We were seating immediately despite the restaurant being completely full. Took about 25 minutes which is longer than Mom preferred (WE thought that was reasonable given the 100+ people eating). Mom's impatience quickly subsided when she tasted the crabcakes. Being from the Eastern Shore of Maryland, she apparently has some sort of God given right to be the end all be all judge of crab.
She even had piece for the first time in her 72 years...and loved it too! Bottom line, Hooked made such a great impression that she made us promise that we would bring her later this summer to dine outside on the beautiful patio.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place didn't know was thereWent to this restaurant after saeeing a movie at the Regal theater one exit north of it. I hadn't heard anything about this place so I didn't know what to expect. It was excellent! I had the miso sea bass among other things and it was fantastic. The Hawaiian sushi roll was also really good. It wasn't crowded at all which surprised me for a Saturday night. Highly recommend this place and definitely will be going back.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMFresh sushiWe hadn't been to Hooked before, but had heard the sushi was good. We gave it a try and were not disappointed. We started off with the miso soup and seaweed salad. The soup was light, the vegetables fresh and I was so pleased it was not too salty like I often get elsewhere. The nigiri was fresh and tender, not fishy or anything other than what sushi is supposed to be. The spicy roll and california roll were fresh and tasty as well.
We didn't know it was prom night and saw several groups of teenagers in their finest dress, and at their best. I thought the atmosphere was very nice and the other diners looked to be having as enjoyable time as we had.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMEnjoyed and liked using open tableEnjoyed, will use coupon given at end to come back for lunch. Would like some kind bread, somewhat noisy on Friday night. Manager was great as was rest of staff!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is a great place to getThis is a great place to get good fish without paying ridiculous prices. I just wish their menu was a little larger.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMStill great for sushi and seafoodThis is the place for excellent sushi and seafood. The food is consistently excellent and is one of our favorites in the area. They also always have great staff. Keaga served us this time. He was very helpful and knowledgeable about menu items and tastes.4/11/2013 12:00:00 AMI had the wagyu burger, myI had the wagyu burger, my companion had the fish tacos. We ate out on the patio. Both of our entrees was very good, cooked to specification on my part on attractive dinnerware. We each had chocolate mousse for dessert, an airy delectable treat. Great evening.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMI have been to Hooked manyI have been to Hooked many times because of the great food. We sat outside this time. Food was great as usual but service was a bit slow outside. Also, there were 2 smokers right next to our table, which ruined the experience. It would be nice if they could make the dining area away from the outdoor bar a non-smoking area.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMWe took some family membersWe took some family members here who had not been before. They were very impressed and noticed after each course that every plate on our tabled was cleared (everything had been gobbled up eaten). Everything was excellent. I am sure they will be back!
I am very excited about the brunch especially the lobster omlette! Haven't tried it yet but plan to soon. Best calmari ever!4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is the place for excellentThis is the place for excellent sushi and seafood. The food is consistently excellent and is one of our favorites in the area.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMHighly RecommendedWent with my friend on Saturday for dinner; glad we made a reservation, as it was packed! Mostly full of adults enjoying the hip, sophisticated atmosphere, but there were also several families with small children present, which did not detract from the ambiance in the slightest. Our waiter, Michael, was excellent- friendly, helpful, attentive, VERY knowledgable about their food and drinks. (It seemed like he was that way with all of his tables, too, not just us; there was a table with three little boys next to us, all of whom adored him.) Definitely request him! The food was fantastic, and prices are manageable. We mostly ordered off of the sushi menu, though the rest of the menu is extensive. We're going back to try their new brunch soon!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWent there for a lunch toWent there for a lunch to celebrate an anniversary. Wine was great, as were the soup (crab bisque), appetizer (crab deviled eggs) and the rolls we ordered.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMHad a light dinner of soupHad a light dinner of soup and sushi. All were very good.2/13/2013 12:00:00 AM
