Honu's on the Beach Restaurant features the most spectacular Breakfast Buffet with fresh island fruits, bakery items and breakfast basics enhanced by our famed "Live Omelet and Waffle Station". Ala carte menu available. In the evening we transform into elegant dining with open air seating under… the stars in the patio featuring Hawaii Regional Cuisine with our home grown produce, products and seafood.(Cuisine selections available Sunday to Thursday). On Friday and Saturday evenings we feature our Famed Prime Rib and Seafood Buffet with a raw bar, appetizers and salads. Entrees include our Chef's weekly selections of fresh catch and specialty seafood and of course our "Slowed Roasted Prime Rib Au Jus and Steamed Snow Crab Legs". "When you go to a restaurant that advertises Prime Rib and Seafood you would not think the Prime Rib would have been cooked hours earlier and taste like "reheated" beef. The snowcrab was very good though. We ordered coffee at the end of our dinner and they only had "Coffee-Mate" for cream.
Would not recommend this restaurant. Sorry."

"The recent remodel that included the new outdoor seating area was impressive. The staff, service, food selection and quality were excellent. This was an anniversary dinner and we were seated in an excellent location in the outside dining area. All was very nice except for the noisy young children (from 1 family) running back and forth past our table to the lawn and a throng of teenage kids coming and going during the meal.
My fault for choosing this location for a special dinner and expecting a bit of privacy."

"This was the first time I dined at Honu's since the restaurant was damaged by the tsunami last March. The renovations successfully created an nice airy ambiance. There is an separate dining area private parties/large groups on the same level as the buffet and lower level seating opens up to an outside seating area over looking the beach just steps away.

The buffet selections could have been better. I know that buffets are notorious for sub par selections, but Honu's takes the cake. It could have been an off day but I don't think I will return for the price I paid ($40). Our server, Jorge was phenomenal. He was very polite and attentive and proved to know his job well."

"When making the reservation we were not told there would be a price fixe menu only. It was only a co-incidence that it was Valentines day, we made the reservation because some guests from the mainland were arriving that day.
The price fixe menu was VERY EXPENSIVE, a lot more than what we expected to spend.
The food and service was ok, but not in line with $40 per person.
The setting is nice, and may return for lunch, but dinner is too pricey."

"We went for the Friday evening buffet after we were under the impression from their website that you were not required to order the buffet, but upon arrival that was the only choice. Upon arrival the hostess was running around like crazy and couldn't seat us for about 15 minutes. After being seated at a lovely table outside, we waited for someone to come over and do anything. This took another 15 minutes and then a busboy came and poured water and told us our waitress would be right over for drink orders, so some went up to the long buffet lines and the rest finally got to place drink orders. Never got any refills, plates were NEVER removed if you went back up to the buffet and then it took another 30 min to get our check and pay!!!"
