My dining companion and I really
liked the food at Hong Kong Lounge II. Unfortunately, because we were only two people, we didn't get to order as many items as we'd have liked to try. So we'll be trying it again, and hopefully bringing more folks with us."

Food is excellent, service was
excellent - staff is so attentive. I can't wait to get back to the area and try something else!"

Service was exquisite! The host
greeted me by my name as we walked into the restaurant. We were escorted into a private room where the waiter was very attentive in a timely manner. We started with deluxe winter melon soup that was superbly steamed and preparedwith lots of delicious ingredients like fresh shrimp, shiitake mushrooms, ham, etc..then we had chicken stuffed with flavorful sticky rice. We had 9 dishes and they were all excellent. You'll have to go and experience this chef's cooking . It's clean tasting , flavorful, generous portions, and presented just right. I'd go back in a heartbeat!"

we had lunch on a weekday. no dim
sum carts; you order from a menu. food was STEAMING HOT when it came out (good thing) - as fresh as can be. they make things to order. really good dim sum. salt & pepper pork ribs were finger-licking good. shanghai soup dumplings were excellent. steamed dumplings were excellent (shrimp; vegetable; ...). ambiance is less hectic and a bit "nicer" than many other dim sum places and service is better."

The best Chinese restaurant we've
been to. Don't miss the Shanghi dumplings."
Dined on 2/7/2014
we had a table for 10, and were
seated after only a short wait. Unfortunately, our members all took it upon themselves to order their own dish, so we w-a-y over-ordered. Good were mushroom filled buns, pork buns, pot stickers, salt and pepper calamari, clams. Food came out right away and was fresh and well-cooked. The waiter really should have told us that we had even duplicate orders, and some orders were much bigger than we expected (e.g. 4 plates of 6 pot stickers each). But even including beer and wine, the total bill including tip came out to $30 each, which was more than reasonable."

An excellent dining experience.
Ordered one of the special menus and our entire party enjoyed the food. It was very busy due to a holiday but Stanley and Kenneth rock all under control. Highly recommended."

One of the very best of dim sum
experiences in the City. Everything is excellent--the best ingredients, preparation, and presentation.. the coffee rubbed pork ribs are crusted carmelized and served with a dollop of whipped cream, it is unusual and extraordinarily over the top delicious. The lamb satay melts in your mouth, and the dumplings everyone agrees are to die for. Enjoy!"

My 5 year old son loves Chinese
food and requested to go to a Chinese restaurant for his birthday dinner. We took him here and had a wonderful experience. The wait staff were super kid-friendly and made him feel special. We ordered the complete dinner for 4 which was a whole dungeness crab cooked to order, peking duck and 4 entrees of your choice. Everything was delicious, esp. the duck and crab. We will definitely be back soon!"

Soft shell crab - tender, well
seasoned, delicious Meat that melted in my mouth with greens and onions Coconut and chocolate ice cream to end the dish"

We were disappointed in our
dinner. The food was adequate, the service less so and the attitude of the staff even less than adequate."
Dined on 12/24/2013
Didn't feel like cooking and
wanted to go someplace different and within a mile from home. Had always seen people in a line outside this restaurant and wanted to know why. So, made a reservation and now I understand. We had salt and pepper soft shell crab and kung pao chicken - both delicious. The crab was so delicate and just properly seasoned. The service was what you would expect in a major restaurant - not there until you wanted someone to be at the table - not hovering, just totally attentive from afar and then right there! The prix fixe dinner selections looked great - we will go back and try one of those next time. My husband lived in Hong Kong and he said he felt he was back there again."

order the $88 dinner for 4, lots
of food, you pick 4 entrees from the menu in addition to the half peking duck and crab or lobster."

Excellent, sincere service; all
staff were very attentive and enthusiastic in their roles."

Best kept SF secret for delicious
Chinese food. Prices are reasonable, food is well prepared, not too greasy!"
Dined on 12/1/2013
good cantonese food in a somewhat
upscale, not run of the mill somewhat gaudy too much red and gold, setting. service very good and so is the food. noise level is pretty good as far as chinese eateries go. for a group of 6 to 8, the $70 or 80, can't recall precisely, menu with choices is a bargain. avoid the separate room in the back, which is more like a claustrophobic garage and completely different from the quieter setting of the main restaurant in front. advise requesting front room with reservation."
Dined on 11/29/2013
Great food at a nice fair price.
And they pace the meal well."
Dined on 11/24/2013
If you like greasey Chinese food
and frozen fish then this is for you. The fried foods are heavy and greasy. There is nothing special here, in fact it's one of the worse meals I've ever had in San Fran. The fried rice was tasteless and the peashoots had no flavor also. The eggplant was in a bowl of oil. Soft shell crabs must of been frozen for Years and the sole also. How can any one restaurant get it all wrong?!?!"
Dined on 11/23/2013
Food is very fresh and tasty.
Shanghai steam buns are exceptionally good. Flavoring for noodles with pork just average. A wide variety of choices on the menu. Very crowded on weekends. Chefs are making a serious effort in this restaurant. It has a private room for about 30 people."

We love this neighborhood
restaurant. We take our granddaughters and they are treated so nicely. Service is great. Dumplings wonderful. Love the Mongolian beef dish. All around a dining pleasure!"
Dined on 11/14/2013
This is not your normal Chinese
restaurant that has marginal service, sticky carpets and wait staff who barely speaks English. This is a class act. Professional service and good food. Their $79.99 dinner set that can serve 6 people is a real steal. For that price, you get half a Peking duck, either a lobster or a crab, AND 4 other dishes chosen from the menu."
Dined on 11/3/2013
The service here is unbelievable.
Everyone is extremely nice and knowledgeable. The food was fantastic. I will be back."
Dined on 10/26/2013
title says it all really. the
4-person prix fix menu is great value."
Dined on 10/19/2013
Been here many times never
disappointed. Service and food excellent. Will definitely return."
Dined on 10/19/2013
The food is excellent. The food is
fresh and very tasty. The service is attentive and quick. They offer a good variety and the price is a little above the average but you are sure to get the freshest and tasties seafood and meat. Dinner is also a good deal. Awesome dishes with great flavor. Dinner specials are also great deals for the price. If you want great dim sum then you have to come here."

This review is for dinner. I had
the Shanghai dumplings, Peking duck, crab noodles and hunan eggplant with pork. Shanghai dumplings were good. Peking duck was good but wished they had de-boned it. The preparation is that you make a little wrap with the duck, sauce and other fillings so would have been far easier to have it already de-boned. The crab egg noodles lacked flavor and only included a little crab. The hunan eggplant w/ pork was flavorful. We ordered sesame balls for the road - they were good. The restaurant brought out each dish individually. Menu has all the items listed in Chinese & English. Bill had the items only in Chinese."

This is one of our favorite
restaurants. Food is always excellent service by Kenneth and Stanley always at their best. One of the best Chinese restaurants in our area. All wait staff as busy as it is provides excellent service. Recommended many people to try this restaurant all left satisfied. Five stars from us"

I took my family here for dim sum
and dinner, both times the service and the food was excellent. I made reservations for both and we were seated immediately while there were people waiting out the door. The restaurant is pretty small but my party of 10 fit just fine. All of our waiters were extremely attentive and very nice, especially the two men with ties. Food came out hot, and all tasted very fresh. My only complaint may be that theyre a little pricey compared to other chinese restaurants but you get what you pay for. Would definitely come again!"

I booked a table for 6 at 8 PM,
which the restaurant accepted. Two of the guests didn't arrive till 8:15 (they were out of towners). When they arrived the waiter told us we had to order immediately because the kitchen closed at 8:30. The rest of the time we were there they were hovering around wanting us to leave. They should never have accepted the reservation."

Different price than their other
location on 19th and Geary location...smaller portion, corkage CHARGE, no house dessert....when I ask 'WHY?' ....... We are charging differently because there are more WHITE customers coming this location and they don't mind we charge more."

HK Lounge II has great dim sum and
also very good Cantonese dinner food. I would highly recommend it for large groups who are willing to dine family style."
Dined on 5/22/2013
Their special dinner with the
lobster or crab over bean thread noodles, 1/2 Peking Duck and two dishes from the menu for 4 people was delicious. You can always add more dishes if you have more guest. This is a fine dining Chinese Restaurant with excellent food, service and ambiance. I will return. MG Chan"
