I've been to Honey Lounge for events and found the food and atmosphere to be great. On a nonevent night it seems as if they slack off a little and it shows in both the service and food. Drinks were great!

Definitely one of the worst dining experiences my husband and I have ever had in NYC. The hostess sent us to the bar to wait, forgot about us, then when we asked proceeded to seat us at a time that had been available the whole time. The waitress took another 18 mins to get to us. The service just got worse from there.
The overall vibe was a little weird. I suppose the restaurant was intended to have a lounge vibe but it felt more like a fondue restaurant that shared a space with a low-end bar. There was a DJ playing techno music way too loud for a 50% full restaurant at 9pm. All the tables were full but there seemed to be a empty "dance floor" in the center of restaurant that made the restaurant feel cold and empty.

Overall a good experience. Not sure why I've seen so many negative reviews about the service as we had no issues. Only complaint was that the chocolate to dipper ratio was way off. We had to over two extra plates of dippers to use all the chocolate up. But everything was tasty.

When we arrived the waiter said he didn't have our reservation and couldn't seat us. So we waited at the bar for about 15 minutes. There were at least 7 open tables, yet he still wouldn't seat us even though I showed him the email confirming our reservation. He finally agreed to seat us and after we ordered a glass of wine he informed us that it was cash only because their computers were down. He was extremely slow and rude to us so we decided to pay for our wine & go somewhere else to eat. I normally don't write reviews but I felt this experience should be shared.
