  • "Homemade is a small, neighborhood BYOB which serves good homemade Italian food. Nothing fancy, but freshly prepared ingredients done well. The seating is tight, but we were fortunate to get a table by the window, and it was easy to carry on a conversation. The service was very good. Hope to try it again in warmer weather and we can sit outdoors."

  • "The only problem here is that the food is sooo good that I always eat too much...but it's worth it! Friendly service, delicious food & convenient parking! A winner!"

  • "Food was good. I had mussels/red sauce which were plentiful but on the small side and the red sauce was a little sweet for my taste (like a chunky bottled Prego) but it was good. I had the shrimp starter - really delicious and the sauce was perfect for dipping the bread. My husband had the chicken marsala. He enjoyed it, but it looked like what I make at home. Like just a little boring. The restaurant is very small. There is nowhere to wait for a table. You'd have to wait outside. Definitely make a reservation. There is parking behind the restaurant which we didn't know until after we parked a few blocks away. I will definitely go back. There aren't a lot of choices on the main line and sometimes I don't want to go into town."

  • "Amazing food. Fabulous service. The red sauce on the mussels was the best I've ever had. Every dish my family has had at Homemade has been wonderful."

  • "Food was notable. The red sauce was amazing . We went with a party of 6 and everyone ordered different items and we all thought it was excellent. WILL BE GOING THERE AGAIN!"

  • "The food at Homemade is consistently delicious! We dine here frequently and the food is always great and the quality is top notch. We are delighted to have a neighborhood BYOB to enjoy a casual dinner any night we aren't cooking at home. Beth, the owner, is lovely. Homemade is like dining in her home!"

  • "The food at homemade was very good. Our waitress was very nice and prompt. Whoever greeted us and other guests that evening could not have made us or others feel less welcome. We had a reservation for two but failed to indicate we would be with our daughter. There was no one else there yet the woman who greeted us made it known that it was an issue that we didn't request a high chair and she would have to reshuffle things based on the many other reservations. By the time we left the restaurant was still 70% empty. When we were leaving, another family came with some schoool aged children. They were told to come back in 15 minutes (mind you it was about 10 degrees outside) as they weren't ready for them. Yet,there were numerous empty tables."

  • "We were greeted and seated right away after entering the small cafe style restaurant. The menus has a lot of basic Italian dishes. I ordered the egg plan parm and my friend ordered the chicken parm with a side of spaghetti. The "gravy" was delicious and with a sweet fresh tomato base without heavy oil, too much basil or garlic. Both of our dishes had a light breading and was lightly fried without heavy oils. The portions were just right. I would rate this place higher than the rest of the Main Line italian places for fresh ingredients and taste."

  • "I'm afraid that the word will get out on this gem. Lunch or dinner, every meal I've ever had here has been great"

  • "We had heard good things about homemade but were quite disappointed. Expected sonething more with the name being "homemade". This was no different than we could have made at home. Service was weak."

  • "Homemade is a small restaurant where we brought our own wine, The special was good and appetizer MUCH good food. Mostly older people from the neighborhood. Tables very close together and cozy for a cold winter evening."

  • "I had my favorite last night..Spaghetti & crab! Yum yum. The salad was also delicious & large enough to share. Artichoke appetizer was delicious!"

  • "We saw Homemade on Open Table for a while and finally tried it. We met Beth the owner chef during our meal and she was delightful and authentic in her spirit and her cooking. The Milan salad's Russian dressing reminded us of my mothers.. Yum! The Homemade Tuscan Chicken was excellent and the shrimp was also really good. We will be back when the weather turns so we can sit outside!"

  • "A very odd restaurant for peasant Italian grub It's a byob which is ok The food is better than a chain, however not worth driving to Narbeth for the food Their is no ambiance, tables are on top of each other , servers are pleasing hs students The tabletops are tiny might work for children not really adults The resurrected Milan salad from the old jimmy Milan's was underwhelming If you live in area it's a stop, however would not drive here again. If you want good eats locally drive into south philadelphia for Italian food"

  • "Came here for valentines dinner. Service was great, food was delicious, atmosphere was very welcoming - they even had a nice romantic song playlist going. Prices are also very reasonable. Will definitely be coming back here again!"

  • "we recently went here with another couple for the first time and had a great experience! the restaurant is cozy and quiet, with an amazing menu. highlights from our meal were the ratatouille, mussels, homemade chicken, pasta with crab, and doughnuts...but everything looked amazing! the owners beth and lou came out after and chatted with the tables, they couldn't have been nicer. the food in addition to the fact that its a BYOB makes it a definite must go!"

  • "Excellent dinning experience at a very reasonable price. This is a small Italian restaurant with an intimate setting. Both the food and service were very good. The interior does not really match the impression you get from the exterior and it would probably behoove them to get rid of the big lit-up sign on the top of the building. It gives the impression that this restaurtant is a sandwich shop/ lunch counter, when it is much more than that. Overall, I definitely reccomend this place and will be going back in the future."

  • "We love homeade. Everything is fresh and delicious. It is a quiet neighborhood gem. Must have the Milan salad. Our favorites, homeade Tuscan chicken, veal piccata, meatballs over pasta, veal Marsala. Beth's kamish bread is out of this world and her fried donuts with cinnamon sugar....OMG!!! Yum!! Everything about this place is amazing!"

  • "We eat at Homemade at least once per week. The reason we come back so often is because the food is so good and we love the cozy atmosphere. Beth, the owner and chef, is always so accommodating. Any dish that we've ever been served has been delicious. Make sure you try this gem of a restaurant. You wont regret it."

  • "Management was totally not accomodating when a request was made to move from a table directly next to a frigid entryway. Rather than upset the computer generated seating plan and move us to an empty table (there were 3 empty tables), management refused. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone."

  • "The food at homemade is always delicious and the services is always great. The Homemade Tuscan chicken is fantastic. The only problem is because of it small size it is often hard to get a table on the weekends without a reservation."

  • "Found Homemade last minute on OpenTable before we went to see a movie. Very small place, cozy. If you don't like rubbing elbows with strangers during your meal than look somewhere else. I found it quite friendly and didn't mind striking up conversation with the couple to the right of us. Seating was prompt, place was half full at about 700pm. Food was quick & service was very personable since it only seats about 15-20. Make sure to make a reservation because a few parties of 2 got turned away for not making a reservation. Good Italian dishes, it reminded me of my moms home cooking."

  • "Nice artichoke appetizer and caesar salad; very good veal picatta and well prepared bronzino; homemade biscoti just right for dessert."
    Dined on 1/10/2014
  • "Great food at a reasonable price. Staff very knowledgeable and helpful in talking about the food. Waited to clear table until everyone was finished, very nice touch. The food was all excellently prepared. Loved the mussels and the artichokes were like being in Rome. Will be coming back for more."

  • "We almost didn't go, because I'm not a big fan of Italian food, but I'm glad we did! My fish of the day was wonderful (although I had filled up on the delish artichoke appetizer and fabulous pear & pine nut salad, so had to share it with my son. My husband's clam appetizer was also very tasty.) Portions were generous, service was excellent, and we were seated very promptly. My only complaint is that my reservation confirmation came with the announcement that my reservation was not eligible for OpenTable diner points. What is that all about?! The whole point of using Open Table (for me) is to accrue points!"

  • "We really enjoyed our dinner at Homemade. Chicken Cacciatore was excellent, but the green beans were PERFECTION - bright color but tender enough, drizzled with garlic butter. Servers were very accommodating of our young daughter, and they made a kids portion for her. Will definitely visit again!"

  • "Homemade was a great example of what Narberth is all about. It was warm, clean, comfortable, good food. Clearly a family run business. While not exotic or fancy, meals were well prepared, hot, and very tasty. Rave reviews from my party for thr veal, both marsala and Parmesan. It was delightful to eat in a small, non-pub neighborhood gem with simple, classic Italian food."

  • "Decent if you like old school style Italian food. I found the food bland and heavy for my tastes. Prices were high for what it was. Had a small chopped salad with square cubes of cheese, meat and some chopped lettuce for $13. Pleasant service in a very small space."

  • "We selected Homemade based on open table reviews we read....it was excellent! We do not live in the neighborhood, we were at a Villanova Volkeyball game and stumbled on this place via open table. We definitely want to go back! Such a cute little place with delicious food!"

  • "The decor is basic luncheonette but the service is friendly and efficient. The food is also very basic, good not great, with large portions and reasonable prices. Good nieghborhood spot for a quick meal."

  • "My husband and I didn't feel like cooking when we got home from work on Saturday but we both were hungry. We decided to stay within our neighborhood but wanted good food so we went to Homemade in Narberth. What a treat! I had the tilapia special and my husband had a shrimp dish. We shared the "Milan salad" to start. Everything was awesome! Because its a neighborhood place there's always other people to talk to and catch up with. It's just a nice, casual fun place to hang out and have great food!"

  • "Everything about Homemade was enjoyable! The food was served hot and was delicious! We got seated right away and the service was perfect. Not that we were rushed in any way but we got our food in a short amount of wait time which was great since we were all very hungry! Love their Chicken Parm and the special salad of the day! The owner bakes her own Kamish Bread which is killer!!! Great hot coffee too! Can't wait to go back!"
