A word from Home 231
Home 231 creates a comfortable yet stylish restaurant that offers contemporary home-style cuisine, service and atmosphere. Our chef has created a menu that utilizes local products, ranging from meats and poultry, to farm fresh eggs and seasonal produce. Our food is described as simple and approachable American food with a modern touch. Join us indoors or outdoors on our courtyard and allow our servers to create a dining experience you will remember.

Our outside patio is booked on a first come first serve basis. Making a reservation for the courtyard does not guarantee the courtyard seating, but we do our very best to accommodate all requests. Private parties in the courtyard will move all requests for outside to our indoor dining room.

If you're in to sustainable, fresh & local food, look no further. While those types of food can often be bland and boring, Home 231 amps it up with some creative presentation and flavor combinations. Our group of 6 was cozy nestled near the window seats and, while the seating was tight, it wasn't awaked. The food was fab and I'd not only recommend but encourage foodies to go!

Cute, intimate little book of a restaurant with a great concept. Great atmosphere, very accommodating and informed staff. Food was wonderful--the whipped sweet potatoes with toasted marshmallows and crushed walnuts are AMAZING. A great find for a special night out or a brunch or lunch. Drink specials are out of this world! Highly recommended!

We were visiting Harrisburg from NY and had booked at Home 231 based on some favorable reviews and the limited number of dining options there. Home 231 turned out to be a wonderful surprise on every level. The menus was great, food was delicious, service was perfect. We were in Harrisburg for 2 nights- we ate at Home 231 both nights! Don't miss...

I mention a food intolerance (gluten) when making a reservation, and on being seated my server checked to make sure he knew who in the party had to avoid gluten. Certainly increased my comfort level of knowing I would get a safe meal. And the food was very good.

The food was amazing and the service was even better. I believe Nichole was our server and she was very sweet and knowledgable about the menu and the specials. I highly recommend Home 231 for brunch and definitely have the Stuffed French Toast or the Bananas Foster pancakes if available. You won't be disappointed!!

Sunday brunch was amazing as usual, the food was great, staff friendly, and our server, ASHTIN, even took time to run behind the bar for us (she makes the best "bees knees"). We'll be coming back on a Thursday night for happy hour when she's working at the bar.

Excellent food, perfectly spiced, not greasy or too salty - subtle sophisticated seasoning, real food, not trendy, warm welcoming service, but not intrusive. Perogies were stellar, homemade ice cream was best I ever had, garlic mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes were swoon-worthy. I will return every time I am in Harrisburg!

Had a friend 2 hours away and did not want to make him drive the entire 2 hours to visit with us, so we tried to meet him half way by dining in Harrisburg. Was not familiar with the restaurants in Harrisburg, so used Yelp. Had difficulty finding a restaurant open on Monday night, then came across Home 231. Made online reservations with OpenTable and had an early reservation (5 PM) so my friend could have dinner and drive back to his hotel in reasonable time. The service was great - our waiter had a young woman in-training with him and they both took very good care of us. The food was EXCELLENT - two of us had the swordfish special and asparagus cream soup; the other had a chicken salad. The fish was deliciously marinated & veggies.

The food here is good, the cocktails are good, but everything is overpriced. This is Harrisburg, not New York. Bring every item down $2-4 and you've got your self some value for money here. The ambiance is fine, but it's nothing special. The bartender gets four stars - she was really excellent.

My experience was truly wonderful. I went to Home 231 on a first date with a girl I'll soon be taking on a second date and we both thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Service was phenomenal, and as someone in the business I appreciate quality hospitality and Alexander took his work beyond service to true hospitality. The food was equally phenomenal. Whatever the special is, get it. It will be delicious. My mouth started watering simply based on the description provided by Alexander who was very knowledgeable and knew the menu well. I will definitely be coming back to Home 231 in the future.

This is my 3rd occasion to Home 231 and brought friends, having raved about previous experiences here. Unfortunately the drinks from the menu were watered down and the food, save for the special, was less than paired well. This was a last meal in Harrisburg before parting ways with the city and if not for the great company the night would have surely been spoiled. The hosts sat our party quickly, but the server seemed to have other priorities for the night.

Had many recommendations for 231 Home which raised my hopes. I ordered the specials which were fresh and delicious and cooked to perfection. The flavors of the main course improved with each bite. We dined on the back patio, which was nice, but I was turned off by the fake vegetation as it seemed counter to the indoor decor. Overall, I felt the food was good, but not over the top delicious. I enjoyed the farm to table theme, but would have preferred to have local ingredients highlighted along with the farms that were utilized. Indoors was a cozy atmosphere incorporating the maximum amount of seating for the space. It truly is a neighborhood gem that is easy to access by walking from downtown but tucked away off the main drag.

The ambiance of the restaurant was progressive, stylish, and created the perfect atmosphere for a "trendy" night on the town. The drink & food selections were unique, creative and delicious.
