A word from Home 231
Home 231 creates a comfortable yet stylish restaurant that offers contemporary home-style cuisine, service and atmosphere. Our chef has created a menu that utilizes local products, ranging from meats and poultry, to farm fresh eggs and seasonal produce. Our food is described as simple and approachable American food with a modern touch. Join us indoors or outdoors on our courtyard and allow our servers to create a dining experience you will remember.

Our outside patio is booked on a first come first serve basis. Making a reservation for the courtyard does not guarantee the courtyard seating, but we do our very best to accommodate all requests. Private parties in the courtyard will move all requests for outside to our indoor dining room.

Had a great time. Restaurant in a funky area. We were able to score the table in the window so there was lots of fun people watching while we ate. It was restaurant week and had a 3 course meal for $30. Great deal- good food and great service. Everything was great! Will hit Home 231 next time I am in Harrisburg.

One of the few restaurants one can go to in Harrisburg that is good time after time. Service was a little pokey this visit and the inside is always cold (Tip:Dress warmly), but the bar is great and the food interesting and satisfying.

The food here is good, the cocktails are good, but everything is overpriced. This is Harrisburg, not New York. Bring every item down $2-4 and you've got your self some value for money here. The ambiance is fine, but it's nothing special. The bartender gets four stars - she was really excellent.

My experience was truly wonderful. I went to Home 231 on a first date with a girl I'll soon be taking on a second date and we both thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Service was phenomenal, and as someone in the business I appreciate quality hospitality and Alexander took his work beyond service to true hospitality. The food was equally phenomenal. Whatever the special is, get it. It will be delicious. My mouth started watering simply based on the description provided by Alexander who was very knowledgeable and knew the menu well. I will definitely be coming back to Home 231 in the future.

Enjoyed a lovely evening with our son and his girlfriend for his 26th Birthday. The appetizers were wonderful and all of us enjoyed our entrees. I had the Lamb and gnocchi, wonderful flavors. Our waitress was great, my son asked several questions about the food and all were answered with enthusiasm and knowledge. Fun evening.

This is my 3rd occasion to Home 231 and brought friends, having raved about previous experiences here. Unfortunately the drinks from the menu were watered down and the food, save for the special, was less than paired well. This was a last meal in Harrisburg before parting ways with the city and if not for the great company the night would have surely been spoiled. The hosts sat our party quickly, but the server seemed to have other priorities for the night.

Had many recommendations for 231 Home which raised my hopes. I ordered the specials which were fresh and delicious and cooked to perfection. The flavors of the main course improved with each bite. We dined on the back patio, which was nice, but I was turned off by the fake vegetation as it seemed counter to the indoor decor. Overall, I felt the food was good, but not over the top delicious. I enjoyed the farm to table theme, but would have preferred to have local ingredients highlighted along with the farms that were utilized. Indoors was a cozy atmosphere incorporating the maximum amount of seating for the space. It truly is a neighborhood gem that is easy to access by walking from downtown but tucked away off the main drag.

The cocktails, food and service were all impeccable. it was mine and my friends' first visit, so we decided to try a number of appetizers rather than entrees. We had the crabcakes, brussel sprouts, fish tacos, onion rings and pierogies. We shared the lemon curd with shortbread cookies for dessert. We both agreed all were fabulous. I will recommend this place to my friends and co-workers.

My husband and I had been looking for a new restaurant to try and were delighted to have found this gem! We ate here on a Saturday night and had a great time. The ambiance of the restaurant was progressive, stylish, and created the perfect atmosphere for a "trendy" night on the town. The drink & food selections were unique, creative and delicious. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend Home 231 for a date night or night out w/friends as it could definitely accommodate both settings well!

The food was good. It was nice to eat outside but the service was slow and there was really nothing outstanding about the restaurant itself. I was really looking forward to dining here. The food was delicious but there was not really anything that stood out to me about the menu. The service was slow which I am assuming is due to the time it took to prepare food not the servers. Our server was professional and friendly. The bartender was also friendly and made a mean strawberry mojito. I would rate this restaurant as average.

We had an amazing meal on Friday night as always at Home231. We shared the deviled egg trio and the lobster deviled egg was out of this world! One of the girls in our party had the Bronzino special and the gouda polenta was such a great surprise addition. I had the blackened Barramundi which was also delicous, although the potato and scallion cake was a little dry. My boyfriend had the flat iron steak and he loved it, so much that I didn't get a bite! Also our server Mike was very knowledgeable and very friendly and entertaining. He really added to the experience.

Delicious fresh food with great variety. You will find everything from a to die for beat salad, crab cakes, burgers and fantastic fresh fish. They even have amazing French fries! The ambiance is good. We sat in the row of booths in the hallway area - not the best spot to sit in terms of ambiance. But the bar, outside and main dining room all have excellent decor. Very clean. Parking was not an issue for us on a weeknight but I imagine it can be on weekends so plan ahead because this place is awesome! Can't wait to go back again!

We have dined at Home 231 on a number of occasions and have always been very pleased. However, on this occasion the dinner was somewhat disappointing. Homemade ice cream was not up to their usual standards nor was the fish entree. Crab cakes had more filler than we would expect in this quality restaurant. Overall we decided that it may be time to take a break and try again in a few months.

This is a shame as the food in this restaurant was very good. It is extremely noisy in this restaurant and it is surprising while it gives a homey feel. Took a date here for dinner and the noise level was a bit unexpected as a large older group was almost annoyingly loud. The seating is a bit tight so the noise level is even more amplified. We went for dinner and granted, it was a Friday evening dinner service, I would have expected to not have to wait 15 mins for our drink/appetizer orders to be taken and another 45 mins for entrees to arrive. Despite, the less than satisfactory wait times, the food was amazing; the hummus and veggie board was great (the mushrooms especially) and we were both highly satisfied with our main dishes. I had lamb and gnocchi and my date had crab-stuffed trout. Overall, would recommend to others; however, the noise levels were a bit surprising.

Our dinner was great. But, aside from a glass of water, not one thing came with it. Salads, bread, it's all extra, and not inexpensive. I think they could at least offer a basket of bread. And the restroom is a one-holer unisex arrangement. Our dinner was excellent, just really overpriced. Parking is free, if you get there early enough to get a space.
