Hōm, celebrates simple farm-to-table cuisine and the growers and producers in our community who share the same passion for pairing locally farmed ingredients with dramatic flavors.
From bright and crispy to smoky and earthy, the tastes at Hōm draw inspiration from Wisconsin farmers markets, small growers, ranchers and local fishermen. In addition, the unique partnership between SURG Restaurant Group’s own Mike Polaski and his Hidden Creek Farms, located in New London, WI, is one more way Hōm can assure its diners the highest quality beef, pork and produce from pasture to presentation. “Locavores,” i.e. Wisconsin home-grown enthusiasts, micro-brew aficionados and anyone willing to catch a bit of Wisconsin sports fever for the evening are invited for a real, honest meal with a touch of elegance, in true SURG tradition. My husband and I had a wonderful, flavorful dinner. I have never been to a restaurant where every dish that I tried was so good and full of flavor. The beer cheese soup was great and the fish fry was great also. Kelsey, our server, was fabulous.

We were plesantly surprised by this restaurant. Food was good, lots of menu choices, everything from sandwiches to complete entrees. Creative cocktails. Nice focus on local including meat and produce from their own farm. All 4 folks in our group enjoyed their meals. Trout, pork ribs, burger and vegetarian skillet were all nicely done. S'more dessert was tasty and fun. Server saw us walk in with a birthday gift and brought a special dessert for the birthday girl. Will definately return.

Love that most food here is locally sourced. Their fish fry (available every day) is beer battered in Spotted Cow; those in our party who had it, loved it. Potate pancakes on the side were some of the best we've tried. Steak sandwich was really good. Our server was new and she was very good. We will return!

We dined for the first time last Saturday night. We arrived at about 6:15 and had a reservation. We were sat immediately. All of the staff was very friendly. I ordered a craft beer. The waiter brought me two to try as I hadn't had either of the IPA's. We didn't order any appetizers, but it would have been nice to have a little bread or something on the table while we waited for our meals. My friend ordered the Wisconsin Dip (he tried to order the pork loin, but it was already out by 6:30). The meat was yummy and the cheese and grilled onions really made the sandwich. The dip was in a very tiny cup so it was hard to dip into it, plus the au jus was just okay. I ordered the shrimp and grits. The grits were tasty, and the shrimp were big and plentiful. The shrimp was slightly overdone...probably was done alright before adding to the hot grits, but then became overdone. Overall, it was all good, but we both agreed that it wasn't so fantastic that we'd have to come back. If someone invited us to go there again, we'd go, but we're not going to pick it as our first place or our "go-to" place. Disappointing as I love the idea of local foods being used.

The food was great. The service was outstanding. They have a wonderful system from the start of ordering drinks to the end of the evening. They sure know how to run a fine facility. Will definitely go there again and tell friends about this fine restaurant.

Our first visit to Hom was last year just as it was making the transition from 8-12 to Hom and we had a fabulous experience. It was an upscale sort of dining experience. This year as we visited we were not nearly as impressed. The service was presented much faster, the entire pace of the place seemed quite hectic. The food was good but not as amazing as our previous visit. For the price I would have expected a nicer experience this was just a slightly better version of going to Friday's or something at about 3 times the price.

We returned to home because we had a really good Friday fish fry, unfortunately this time we were really disappointed. The fish was greasy and the fish bath of potato pancakes were cold, but hard on the outside. The second bath of potato pancakes were hot, but greasy and had a very dark brown hard outside. We did let our server know and the manager paid us a visit. He was very apologetic and offered other food, removed the charges for the food and couldn't have been nicer. He did explain they had someone new in the kitchen. We will probably try it again, but not for awhile. We were so disappointed, we thought we had found another restaurant to add to our list of great places for a fish fry.

We never expected to find such terrific food in the suburbs. There's a nice wine selection. The caprese salad was fresh and delicious. Shrimp and grits were as good as anything I've had in the South, and the crust on the chicken pot pie was flaky and crisp and outstanding. If we lived nearby, we'd be regulars here.

My husband and I ate here after a last minute change of plans so we didn't really know what to expect. I don't think the menu has changed much since it dropped its affiliation to Ryan Braun but that's not a bad thing. Drinks were excellent and the main courses (prime rib & roasted chicken) were devoured. I would return next time I am in the area.

We liked the general theme of the place, but it came across very dark. Our waitress was spectacular. She had a great personality and was very caring about us. Mixed reviews on food. We all liked the concept of fresh to table and appreciated local items. Food could have more seasoning. Portions were good. Roast chicken, chicken was not tender and brussel sprouts needed to be cooked a bit more. Tater Tot appetizer was good and bacon ketchup is wonderful! Beer cheese soup good, house salad with champagne vinegrette kinda blah. Needed to be dressed more. All in our group felt dessert - creme brule was phenomenal! Best ever. We will try again to see if food improves on next visit.

All of the choices on the review menu imply that Hom is outstanding. It's not. However, Hom is good on several dimensions - menu, price, location, service. The staff seemed well-trained, and the food was well-prepared. Ignore the 5 star and 1 star reviews. You will not go away disappointed; you will not be thrilled. You will be satisfied.

We visited your restaurant about a week ago for the first time and it was the worst experience we have ever had. The service was fine. The food was the worst food we have ever had. Both of us. He got the home skillet and I got the pot pie. His didn't even have brat in it and it was so greasy and $12, I got the pot pie and it was soup with this thick hard layer of what they were trying to be bread on it. So didn't eat the food. And had to leave. It was not worth our money at all.

We decided to try Hom for a Friday fish fry and had a wonderful dinner. I normally like thin and crispy potato pancakes but these thinker pancakes tasted great! The fish was crispy, hot and wasn't greasy. My only critical comment would be for the tarter sauce, which needs a lot of work! It had the consistency of salad dressing and there was a prominent vinegar flavor. I'd say to try this fish fry even though the tarter wasn't great...we'll be returning soon.

We've visited this restaurant spot as it's morphed through its "various lives." This is, by far, the best; even over the previous Hom! We started with the cheese platter and it was an outstanding variety of cheeses, preserves and pistachios; just light enough to not over-fill before our main course. The chicken pot pie and plank grilled salmon were delicious! We will, definitely, return!

After my first visit, I knew I'd be back. It was the perfect place this time because the birthday we were celebrating was for a friend who no longer lives in the state, and I wanted to go somewhere really local, but nice still with a decent menu that has a wide range of items for affordable price. Hom was the perfect place. I love the entrée I had- roasted chicken with mashed potatoes and a peach glaze sauce. So good. Love Hom!

Our group of four made a point to all order something different and our results were: the cheese curds are phenomenal, the French onion soup was bland so forego that for the beer cheese soup, and the pot roast is better than mom's!!!! The ribs, the fish fry and the stuffed pork chop were all tasty but will not be able to compete with other rib houses and local fish fries which is good. They will be known for their comfort food so stick to that part of their menu for sure!

I'll stick to the facts and leave my opinions out: Cheese curds appetizer was very good, the highlight of the meal. It was not busy at all and it took nearly 40 minutes for our entrees to arrive. I had the "spicy burger" which had one small slice of tomato, three jalapeno slices, mayo, and cheese. The bun looked like it came from Mcdonalds. With fries the price was $11. Wife had the Ribs. She received 5 ribs which were spicy and full of connective tissue and fat. With cole slaw the price was $24. Waiter did not stop at our table between taking orders and asking about dessert (another server delivered the food). Will not be returning, so many better options out there.

We had a rather late reservation the night we visited. We waited a while for our server, but once she greeted us, the service was great! Since we had never been, she gave us an extensive history of the restaurant and wow-ed us with her knowledge of the menu. We ordered both the traditional Mac and Cheese and the special of the evening- Ribeye with 3 grilled shrimp-- Seasoned and cooked perfectly. My Mac and Cheese was so creamy and flavorful- I stopped early to take it home and to take part in the makeshift s'mores dessert. I grew up in the great state of Wisconsin, and it was so wonderful to see so many of my near-hometown favorite ingredients utilized so wonderfully. We WILL be back.
