  • "Two of us had the petit filet - both were great. One of us ordered the Tator Tot casserole - they first delivered the green bean casserole by mistake. They delivered the correct meal when the two of us were half way done with our meal - the person eating the casserole said it was too soggy. The tator tots were soggy and there was too much sauce - she didn't care for it. The server offered an apology for the incorrect item being served, but no other discount or free drink or dessert was offered."

  • "they had a new menu. no more corn bread before meal which they no longer serve with new menu. they messed up on 2 of our dinners. wasn't what we ordered. will not go back. this was our 2nd time, as our first time we had great food and service. Bring back old menu and corn bread and i will come back."

  • "Fish has been fantastic every visit, although the recent menu change had one miss we thought. The walleye was delicate under the breading...breading way too heavy to enjoy the fish. But the trout was delicious and light with its orange marmalade sauce. The caesar salad was prepared traditionally with a hint of anchovy saltiness. The cheese tray had a great variety and the tator tots were yummy thanks to what i believe was gouda snuck in. Desserts are a bit of a miss, but you wont really want one after your outstanding meal."

  • "It was alright, we both had the fish fry. The fish had very little flavor. The potato pancakes were a little much but I did like the compote. We had the cheese curds for the appetizer and the tater tots and they were good."

  • "Hom is a relatively new addition to the growing Locavore movement in SE Wisconsin, specializing in the freshest ingredients for regional sources (many identified on the menu). Upon entering, you are greeted by re-sourced wood and a rolling door in the reception area/bar. There are rural pictures from WI on the walls, and the impression is comfortable and homey. The food is creative and very tasty, with vegetarian and gluten-free options available. I had a pureed spinach/red pepper appetizer under puff pastry that was excellent, and the stuffed pepper (onions, mushrooms, cream sauce) on a bed of spicy barley was superb. They have a small but very well-chosen wine list (I especially liked the Sanford pinot noir). Definitely seek it out!"

  • "We stopped by expecting beer and bar food and found several creative meal choices a locus craft beer selection and a server who really knew her stuff. I was visiting the area but have a lot of friends that live there. I will send them Hom!"

  • "Went to Hom with my sister and 2 cousins. 1 of which was a real foodie. I had the caesar salad which was good but aside from the homemade dressing nothing unusual. My entree was the duck. This was cooked exquisitely and paired well with spinach and pureed celery root. Everyone else enjoyed their meal as much as I did. The bill for 6 people with drinks and appetizers was just about $300. So very reasonable."

  • "The people were great, friendly, prompt service. I love the outdoor patio idea, but it is so close to Bluemound Rd. that it can be noisy. The restaurant offers a great selection of wine and special cocktails. The food is the real issue, though. First, it is an expensive and limited ala carte menu. My husband's whitefish tasted more like smoked chub. The chicken in the entree I ordered was good enough, but it was served on a bed of some "fancy stuff" I can't pronounce and didn't care to eat. It was mushy, and I think it detracted from the taste rather than enhanced it. This isn't a fancy restaurant by style and atmosphere. It is comfortable and rustic, but it seems it is trying too hard NOT to be 8-12. That's the mistake."

  • "If your looking to do something special as I did this past week and come away extremely happy please go to HOM. The Staff was great and the Manager really cared about the quality of service we where recieving at our table. (Attention to detail makes you feel important )I started the night with a special bottle of Red Wine to go with my scallops as a appetizer and it was perfect. I chose the steak filet.(Awesome) my party order the lamb chops and said they were extremey satisfied. Was this CHEF on TV? Talk about the layout and presentation of the food was fantasctic. I knew it wasnt the booze that made me feel good about the food because when I had the desert (Fudge Brownie) it blew me away. A great time at a great place to call HOM e."

  • "Overall the food was good. I had the Pasta Special which was a Spinach Fettucini w/sauteed veggies & grilled shrimp. It was good but a bit too salty. Shrimp was excellent but the dish could have used some more veggies; pieces were very small and not very abundant. The Broccoli soup was good - very rich - but a bit bland. Service was outstanding and the outside patio was very pleasant"

  • "My husband & I have eaten at Hom 3 times now, and each time was sooo good. We had a Fri. fish fry, and the 2 for $29.95 trout dinner that is so delicious I don't know if I will get to the rest of the menu. Wait staff is very friendly & efficient, just the right amount of attention. This will be our go to place close to home. Servings are just the right size."

  • "We've dined at every reincarnation of this restaurant location, and the menu and food quality slips a little lower with each one. The food was just ok - fish fry with almost tasteless fish, and an interesting-sounding spin on a potato pancake, but again, it was just ok. The dollop of apple butter garnishing the fish fry was truly the highlight of the meal. We originally planned on coming back with friends to try their $29.95 dinner for two special, but 2 of the 3 entrees available with the promotion aren't even regular menu items. The starter selection was either soup or salad. Again, no real opportunity to try out some of the more interesting items on the menu. And only 1 dessert choice?! No thanks!"

  • "The selection on the happy hour menu is pretty decent. We sat on the patio since it was a nice day and my husband and I each ordered what we though was a specialty cocktail but found out after it was brought to us that they actually weren't and were charged full price. It was our waiters first time working happy hour I guess. The drinks were worth the extra cost though. We ordered a few appetizers (chicken wings and cheese curds) and then later each ordered a burger and beer. Everything was very good. The burger was one of the best we have had in a long time. We really appreciated that everything was farm to table. The regular menu looks good too."

  • "Was extremely disappointed in our experience! Waiter was great quality of food and the 2 hour dinner was horrendous! Table next to us was even worse. Waiter continually apologized for the slow service. Supposedly a new cook? Ran out of bread bowls and put my onion soup in some big bowl with one little piece of cheese. Not too appealing. Food did not come out at the same time. Would definitely not return nor recommend to anyone!"

  • "Stopped in for a later night bite and cocktail. Ambience was subdued, even with the numerous large flat screens. And we liked that so that we could watch the games. The dinner menu appeared too "heavy" for our tastes, so the waitress offered a "bar menu." We chose 2 appetizers. My soft tacos were rather good! My husband did not like the chicken and waffles. To be fair, we've never had them anywhere before. Maybe we just don't like that combination. For a late night bite and drink, Hom is a nice choice."

  • "We had a party of 8 on Easter. They had the regular dinner menu, which was fine with us. Kids ate free bc it was a weekend. The food was delicious, I will definitely go back! The only negative comment I will make is that the restaurant was not busy and we waited a long time for our drinks (just beer and wine) and there seemed to be an unusually long wait for the food as well. However, the dinner was worth the wait. "

  • "My wife and I tried Hom and absolutely loved it. It was so amazing, the food and service was great, and we can't wait to go back. It's become our new favorite restaurant. The decor fits the restaurant perfectly. We had the salmon cakes as an appetizer and were highly impressed. The corn bread to start with was so moist and tasty. I had the chicken and my wife had the trout and they were both amazing. Can't wait to go back. The price was a great value for the quantity and quality of the food. We left comfortably full and brought food home as well."

  • "The 1st time we went to Hom, we absolutely loved everything! Food was amazing, server was outstanding, ambiance was romantic. We were so impressed we said we wanted to return every weekend! Our 2nd experience was disappointing. I made a reservation a day and a half in advance, but we were seated next to the bathroom and kitchen. Worst spot in the place and there were plenty of other tables open. Poor ambiance. Then, we ordered wine and waited a good 20 minutes before seeing our server--or anyone--again. No cornbread. Iris stopped by and asked if we had received our cornbread yet and we said no. She went to check on it and our food arrived. Then our cornbread arrived--cold. Overall, felt like we were a bother and not guests. Disappointing."

  • "My husband and I took our three daughters to Hom for our family business anniversary celebration. The atmosphere is rustic and comforting. All five of us enjoyed our main entrees, especially my 11 year old and my husband who selected the BBQ ribs. There were enough ribs to take home, but the other portions were very appropriate to a single serving. You need a fine balance between enough food and too much! They achieved that. The desserts were delicious. We ordered a peach sorbet, a brownie sundae, cheesecake and salted caramel ice cream. Again, the portions were just right and the taste was worth every calorie. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. I have already told two of my friends to put Hom on their dining list!"
