  • "Decided to partake in a a leisurely luncheon and The Hog's Breath Inn did not disappoint in satiating. The fish tacos I order were quite flavorful as was the Calamari appetizer. The service with the smile from both host and server was an added bonus. Thank you"

  • "Everything was fine, service really good!! Needs more detail put into table setting, sadly, the entrees need work. The duck was very dry and the mahi mahi had too much going on...wasabi mash, with ginger on top, fish was tasty but the crab topping lacked flavor and was dry. Good luck...oh, the view of old town La Quinta was nice."

  • "Our dining experience was wonderful at Hog's Breath Inn. Our waiter was knew what he was talking about. Our mahi mahi was cooked to perfection. The resturant had great vegetables cooked perfectly."

  • "Food was excellent. Service was very good - just slow in getting back to us (14) with receipts/change. I would recommend HB for lunch - yes . . but very disappointed that we could not be seated in front tables on the patio - especially since no one else used those tables the two hours we were there! Should be first come - and not saving tables for other potential guests. Money is money."

  • "Went for dinner after my husband played in a golf tournament. He and I both had read the reviews and knew it would bed pretty decent, but it was fantastic ! My husband is a very picky eater and he absolutely lived it as did I. He had the peppercorn steAk and I had the wine sauce with flat steak with mashed potatoes."

  • "Everything was great they sat us early from our reservation and got a patio table with a good view. 6:30 was a good time as the sun went behind the mountains. Appetizer was great, house beer was good. And the Dirty Harry Dinner was awesome, cook just the way I asked. Not a fan of red cabbage but overall great dinning night. Also had a bottle of there house red wine."

  • "Inattentive service. Long lapses in time between visits from wait staff wether it be ordering, refilling glasses, clearing of dishes and getting the check. Dirty dinner plates remained on the table even as we got up to leave. Boring food. Our table ordered 4 seafood dishes and a plate of ribs. The ribs are the notable exception here as the meat fell off the bone. No one who ordered the Sole, Salmon or Mahi Mahi would order the dish again. Value. So many other options at this price point where the value would be better. Hog's Breath has been in the valley a long time and there are plenty of new comers. Seems that Hog's Breath is just mailing it in at this point."

  • "We were celebrating our anniversary and we were very pleased with our dinner! Loved the atmosphere and knowing that it is Clint Eastwood's restaurant gave me confidence that it would be unique and of quality. I was right. We enjoyed the 'Sunset Dinner' which is 3 courses - all great and a great value at $20/each. My artichoke soup was fantastic. My husband's pea soup was fantastic. My wild caught Miso Salmon was perfectly cooked and flavorful. He enjoyed his flat iron steak. Lastly, dessert was a choice of ice cream or sorbet. We had chocolate ice cream and a wonderful sorbet called Blackberry Cabernet, which was SO GOOD. I want to go back!!!"

  • "We ate here for dinner, 4 adults and 2 kids. For adults wanting conversation, it was probably a little loud; but with kids, it was fine. We sat in the dining area (not bar area), and having already looked at the menus on-line, the kids wanted food off of the bar menu, which apparently cannot be done (not even for the kids); they must choose off the kids menu. None of our food was bad and the service was very good; but all of the food was just OK. We are "value shoppers," and for the price (which was on the higher side... $170 all-in, with no alcohol), there are several place with better food within a few miles of this place. As an aside... happy hour and the bar menu looks like a much better deal, and we'll return to try it."

  • "We enjoyed dinner on the patio this week. Started off great, as the wine was all 50% off. Service was good, had a great table on the patio. Everyone enjoyed their dinner, my only comment would be that the basmati rice served with the salmon was pretty bland. It could have been "zipped" up a bit. Desserts were all good as well. It was a very nice evening. Thank you!"

  • "Staying in one of the resorts we decided to venture out and find something new. After reviewing a number of menus on-line and not finding anything that inspired us, we decided to try the Hogs Breath as a local attraction. We were pleasantly surprised by the high quality of food and service. It far surpassed our expectations. Don't be put off by the 'celebrity' of the venue - this is a great restaurant with an excellent selection to suit any appetite."

  • "Just a ho hum dining experience.. No complaints but nothing exceptional. Perhaps dining outside is the attraction . It looked very pretty on the patio but there wasn't an open table at our reservation time"
    Dined on 3/15/2014
  • "We enjoy dining here but only on the patio as inside is too noisy and not condusive for conversation"
    Dined on 3/17/2014
  • "Although my burger was overdone, all other diners were very pleased with their meals. Sitting on the porch was lovely and it was a great evening!"

  • "We dine here often, and had a wonderful time as always. Outstanding service - we arrived 45 minutes before our reservation and offered to wait in the bar, but they seated us immediately at the table we had requested in our reservation. The fiord was great and ory server was perfect."

  • "Food was very good off the sunset menu, good value. Meal was hot when served. Excellent service staff. Will definitely return."

  • "Great casual neighborhood restaurant and bar. Nice covered patio. Our service was quick and efficient. All special request came without any problems. The food was just as described in menu., tasty and well prepared. Nice, moderately priced dinner. Limited wine list, but sufficient."

  • "Everything about the Hog's Breath is wonderful. I req. seats with low sun light as we had a guest with eye issues. We were seated in the private dining room. What a grand evening. Everyone was delighted with their meal. The wine list was presented with a 50% discount on a bottle. The meal includes soup/salad, entree and desert. Can't say anything but good things about this restaurant. We have had lunch on the outdoor patio and that is also a wonderful treat."
    Dined on 3/13/2014
  • "We have been here many times before. This time we were seated in the front of the restaurant and the noise level was extremely loud. Food was good, service not so much. We ordered a glass of wine when entree was served which didn't show up until we were practically finished. We declined it at that time. Hope this was just an off night. We would think again before going for dinner as there are many many other places to choose from in the desert."

  • "Looking for a great local resturant. We come into town every year for the tennis tournament & found this great spot not far from our resort. Had a great time & the food was excellent."

  • "I generally discount restaurants that are associated with movie stars (Clint Eastwood, in this case) as likely to serve average food at higher prices. In this case, I was pleasantly surprised to find that all four in our group really enjoyed their meals. I had the pork chop on whipped sweet potatoes. Pork was juicy and particularly good when dipped in the sweet potatoes. Other entrees included sea bass, duck, and rib eye. No leftovers for any of us. Sides were good and I ate every bit of my brownie a la mode. The restaurant isn't inexpensive, but it's in La Quinta, so I wasn't expecting a bargain."
    Dined on 3/8/2014
  • "Food was just OK, service was a little slow and very low energy."
    Dined on 3/8/2014
  • "My husband and I were looking forward to a nice dinner. We didn't even have time to eat the appetizer when the main course arrived. The ribs were tender but tasteless. The green beans were sparse and had allot of oil on them. MY husbands meal was no better. Last time for Hogsbreath."

  • "We have been here several times and have enjoyed the great service and delicious food!"
    Dined on 3/6/2014
  • "We dined on the upstairs patio in front of a fireplace, looking out at the mountains as the sun set enjoying a glass of Hogs Breath wine while waiting for our sunset dinner special which consisted of a large thick grilled pork chop that had been frenched, sitting in a pool of a delicious reduced sauce, with sweet potato mash and asparagus. All this for $19.95 per person with a number of excellent entrees to choose from."
