I have been here for both dinner and brunch. Dinner was PACKED but we managed to snag seats at the bar. Brunch was much slower and I'm not sure we even needed to have a reservation. I highly recommend the chicken biscuit for brunch. SO GOOD. Obviously they also had a great charcuterie and oyster selection.

The food was really good and the service was great. They have a couple of t.v.'s at the bar so that's pretty cool. Along with tables, there are bar type long tables that people were sitting at. I recommend trying. Kinda pricey. Total bill was $140 for 2 people.

The food was fantastic. The service was a bit poor we had to ask twice for our waitress so we could order or get something to drink. Its not a large space so I'm not sure where she was hiding. We were also seated next to a couple with a small child who kept reaching over to our table and pulling things off like my keys and my iPhone. At one point the child climbed on the table, there were other seats available we were about to ask to be moved when they left. They would've left sooner but they too had to request their waitress to get the check and then find her to have her run their card.

Love the ambiance....with a masculine pub feel, its a great venue to have a beer, some oysters, or more. That said, I feel hog and rocks promises a bit more than it delivers, food wise and value wise. First, while there was one oyster special ($1 per was great) the other oysters on the menu were close to $4 a piece, which is pretty pricey. Second, the main courses were takes on comfort/pub food, and seemed overpriced and undersized for what they were. No great argument with the food....it was tasty, but not the best value. I will go back, but probably more to enjoy the ambiance with friends, and have a beer and apps.

This is a decent place - definitely a Mission hipster hangout. We came here for brunch and the place was jumping. There was a lot of activity by the well-stocked bar (and it was only 11:30 A.M.). Anyway, the "hogs" plate was decent - cold cut hams from around the world - nothing great, but not the worse, either. The "rocks" was ok. I would say, though not a great value for what you get based on the bill.

Terrific cocktails, very solid bar/wait staff and very good oysters/cured meat options make for a terrific evening. The noise can definitely get up there in terms of dBs, but it works for the space (and I'm usually cranky about that kind of thing). If you're into burgers, try The Two Timer (an outstanding mix of ground beef and country ham patties)--and if you're not into burgers? This might convert you.

All the dishes we ordered were great enjoyed the ham sampler and a dozen oysters . The mussels with octopus chorizo was a highlight. We all liked our entrees. I had tthe meatballs with grits. It was very tasty. For desert we each had a specialty cocktail. All of which were spectacular.I would definitely return and try more things out on the menu. The service was terrific.

Good menu for pork and oyster lovers--both were good. Hog & Rocks has regular table seating and a handful of long high tops--kind of like Kings Tables--for larger groups. Ambiance is very "in" right now: dimly lit, good music, cool hipster servers. It's tiny and in the Mission, so I could this place being on trend right now. Hog & Rocks also carries 209 gin, which makes it a winner regardless of anything else!

Hog and Rocks is a welcome addition to the neighborhood. The food was really fantastic (if not a little too salty), the beer list fantastic, and the service great. They dealt with our reservation for 8 people easily. My only gripe is the decor, a little home-iness (less corporate office lobby) would go a long way.
