Diner Reviews
  • "We are frequent diners at this restaurant as it is a local establishment in the area for us. The menu has a little bit for everyone, and you will always be able to find something to meet your taste buds. You have the option of sitting in one of the two dining rooms or the bar area, where you can either sit at a table or at the bar. The wait staff are a great bunch of people."

  • "The restaurant has been in business for many years and provides excellent service. The food is excellent and we have our favorites. Prime rib on Fridays and Saturdays is one of there signature dishes and well worth it."

  • "This is a local favorite of ours - the food is excellent and the service is superior. "

  • "We dined here twice during our weekend stay at the Revere. Although the meals were acceptible, they were just not up to the quality we have become accustomed to when dining here. A change in the crab cakes was noticeable and they were not as good as usual. The scallops were very good and fresh tasting, but the veal parm my wife had was soggy, overcoated and not very tender. We also noted a difference in the blue cheese salad dressing as being not nearly as good as it usually is. The service was excellent as usual, so no complaints there. I sure hope this was just an off-night and not a sign of a change in the meal quality at the restaurant going forward. We will have to wait and see when we get down in the area to give it another try."

  • "We (Mom, sister and myself) come to Lancaster a couple of times a year as a quick getaway, either for a weekend or a day trip. (We're from MD) After discovering The Revere Tavern we won't even consider eating anywhere else. We've also stayed in the Best Western and that is now our favorite place to stay. We've only had dinner because we are off shopping and not around during lunch. We really can't rate the bar, but there are always lots of people in there having a very good time! They know what we know.....The Revere Tavern is the BEST!"

  • "my wife and i have traveled from long island, n.y. for the past six years in april to visit lancaster pa. we go the week of my birthday and have my birthday dinner at the revere tavern. we have always had great tasting food at a reasonable price. my braised short rib was done to my liking and my wife's red snapper was so good that she called the restaurant back and asked how it was prepared. there was one incident that was not acceptable..... i asked the hostess if she could light the candle at an adjoining table, the people there were looking at it and it was not lit. SHE INFORMED ME THAT IT WAS NOT HER JOB, THAT WAS THE WAITRESSES JOB. the candle remained unlit. "

  • "This restaurant delivered more than expected. We always like to dress up, and although not everyone else does anymore, we did not feel out of place for wearing suit/tie (hubby) and a nice dress/heels. We had a table in the corner near the fireplace which just added to the ambiance. Waitress was excellent and attentive and the food was outstanding and had very generous portions. Dessert and wine was superb. We will definitely come back!"

  • "We always look forward to dining at the Revere and have never been disappointed. We really love the roasted red pepper butter."

  • "I ordered a flat iron pork steak and it was the most tender pork I have ever eaten. It was a good 1 1/2 inches thick and flavored just right, I will have it again."

  • "It was a very comfortable and a very relaxed mood the place put you in. We loved the Filet Mignon and the Grilled Salmon. The salad was very fresh and I loved the the house raspberry vinaigrette. I would recommend this place for anyone looking for a great place to eat with great service and relaxed atmosphere."

  • "Dined here after a show at a nearby Lancaster theater. Had the filet and crab cake. Filet was done perfectly medium-rare. The crab cake was very good with more crab than filler. Service was adequate. Decent wine list. Overall, a pleasant surprise in an area of chains and PA Dutch buffets."

  • "The food was great but the experience was dismal. The prime rib, salads, garlic mashed potatoes and green beans were all good. I didn't care for the green beans but my husband liked them. The hostesses were not friendly and we felt as if we were bothering them. Our requested table was not honored. The service was incredibly slow and I do mean s-l-o-w. But the worst thing of all was the waitress. She was MIA most of the meal. Even when I asked for my husbands empty drink to be refilled she went ahead and left the room, got the drinks for 6 for the next table, delivered those, took their orders, and then came back a few minutes later with a refill. Tips for a good experience: Avoid waitress Kelly, demand Stephen Foster room, allow time."

  • "the turtle soup was great. however the French onion soup was really bad. the prime rib we had for dinner was ok, my wife's had more flavor than mine. the mudd pie is really good. however the service was horrible so was the chocolate martinis we ordered. place is a hit or miss so beware."

  • "Great reception, manager / host was most gracious. Wine was excellent and the food was even better. Waitress was the best we have ever had, so this experience was well worth it. The NY Sirloin was prepared exactly to my liking and my wife had the petite filet medium rare and she said it was also perfect. Great place, you should put it on your wish list for certain!"

  • "The historic location was amazing with incredible ties to colonial America. We were seated in the front room, across from the bar and it was quiet and cozy. Our waitress was very nice, maybe a little slow but was honest and apologized which made it fine in my book. She forgot my drink from the bar. However, this woman was nearing 70 and working hard. Our food was outstanding. I had filet mignon and the crab cake. It was delicious. The ice berg wedge salad was incredible. This food would have been wasted on our kids. I'm glad we didn't bring them :)"

  • "We waited 35 minutes for our dinner. My steak was cold and tough and almost raw despite ordering it medium. Sent it back and it was replaced with a new piece which was only warm and fatty and tough. Should have seen it coming when they sent an email the day of our reservation changing it to 5:00 even though it had already been confirmed by open table for 5:45.days before. When I called about it the person tried to tell me that they had nothing to do with the initial reservation as it was done through the web. I tried to tell her that was the object of Open Table and after a debate she reluctantly put us at 5:45. Apparently does not understand Open Table. They then put us in a corner table with barely enough room to get in and out."

  • "We visit this restaurant every year when we go to Lancaster,Pa. Reasonable prices, great atmosphere, and the best crab cakes I have ever tasted."

  • "Our food was good, but I would not say great. Wait staff was very attentive. Large portions match the moderately high prices. Nice historic building."
    Dined on 3/8/2014
  • "We enjoyed the ambiance of this historic building. The menu was mostly old favorites which is hard to find now-a-days. The Osso Bucco, which was a special, was one of the best I've ever had. Save room for dessert. They are decadent and worth every penny and calorie. When we got the check, we were pleasently surprised. We will return when we are in the area again."

  • "The food was excellent. My wife and I were very pleased to be put at the fireplace where we requested. The waitress was wonderful. I look forward to dining there again when we are in the area."

  • "I didn't want to give a bad review but I cant write enough in your private area. The food was excellent but the romance was lost when we sat at the table by the window and ice machine , drinks ect. It was cold and noisy. It sounded like all the tables were reserved so we couldn't move. My date was very cold ,we told the waitress several times she just chuckled so we ordered coffee to help . I took it as my bad luck. If come back I will call far enough ahead to sit by a fireplace . Thank you"

  • "We live about 40 minutes away from the restaurant and dine here at least twice a month. Always have daily specials but LOVE their prime rib which is every Friday and Saturday. Some items are a bit pricey but the food is well worth it."

  • "My husband and I had dinner at the Revere Inn for Valentine's Day. We arrived a little early and they seated us right away. The room was beautiful with a fire in the fireplace and lovely tables with candles, fresh flowers, and red tablecloths. Our waitress was excellent and very attentive. Food was outstanding and so was the atmosphere. This was our first visit but won't be our last."

  • "I found this restaurant through Open Table and was treated to a wonderful dinner. The area was hit by an ice storm and luckily our restaurant wasn't affected. My friend and I split a Surf and Turf special which included soup, salad, rolls, a 10 oz filet and a choice of crab cake, shrimp or scallops. The meal was delicious and well worth the price."

  • "we chose the Revere Tavern based on reviews from Trip Advisor and we weren't disappointed. We were looking for someplace with ambience and this place delivered with the multiple fire places, linens and historical significance. If you are looking for a place for wonderful food (I had the grilled salmon with pesto and garlic mashed potatoes-delicious!) and a nice wine list, this is your place! If you are tired of all of the usual food in Lancaster County, Pa, please go here! More expensive than a typical buffet/family style restaurant and WELL WORTH IT!"

  • "Our first time dining @ Revere Inn. Food & service was very good. Dined @ 5:00 due to concert @ American Music Theater. The room was quaint as it should given the age of the original inn. Will dine there again if in the area."

  • "We had dinner Friday night on a cold, snowy evening! We had a great table in the Stephen Foster room in front of the fireplace. Our server, JoAnn, was wonderful. I had the scallops, as well as my daughter. We loved our meals. My husband loved the prime rib. We all had enough for leftovers...but was still able to get dessert! A yummy cream bruelle! The bar was busy and was beautiful. We looked into the other dining room on our way out, and it was a pretty room too. We love the Revere and always look forward to our dinner. We will be back next month! Thank you. How could I forget the calamari and portobello stuffed mushrooms appetizer. Yum!!"

  • "We have tried several of the "designated" fine restaurants in the Lancaster, PA area, but have never gone back to any of them except the Revere Tavern. The quality of the food, service, selection, ambience, and prices make for a winning combination every time! We highly recommend their seafood and soups; they are always outstanding! The Revere Tavern has become a destination place for us whenever we are in that area."

  • "Had been to the Revere Tavern years ago and decided to return after seeing a show at the AMT in Lancaster. Wonderful dinner. Presentation of the meal was great and the taste was even better. Atmosphere in winter is so nice with the working fireplaces. Nice to dine in such a historic old tavern."

  • "I made a reservation to celebrate my Wedding Anniversary and the wonderful team at the Revere Tavern did a great job. When making the reservation, I mentioned that it was for my Anniversary and the staff surprised my wife and me with a complimentary dessert; totally unexpected and a very classy touch. Food and service were outstanding. Thank you for making our dinner very memorable."
