We ordered the "Dinner for Two" ($108) and split it 4 ways. It was plenty of food since we had an appetizer at another place. Don't
go to Hip Kitty hungry. Service can be slow because they get busy and if you order fondue it can take a while. Our out of town guests really enjoyed it too!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMOur Anniversary DinnerMy boyfriend and I met at the Hip Kitty two years ago, our trip was to celebrate. We choose the 'dinner for two' option which gives you a half salad each, cheese fondue-with veggies, bread, and fruit, meat fondue-he had surf and turf I had the carnivore, plus desert fondue and a bottle of wine for $110. The food was very filling and delicious and it takes about three hours from the time start to finish. They don't rush you through the courses. The chocolate was a bit then and left me with a "I want more" feeling.
The only downside was the band. We had to pay a cover charge of $5 to get in even with reservations and the band's amp was up too loud for me personally. He had never experienced fondue, our waiter was so nice and went out of his way to explain how everything worked and recommended his favorite cheese fondue. Great drinks and service. Despite being really busy hip kitty takes good care of their customers. The band was cool. Just an overall great time. Very disappointed that they went "off-menu" to a Blues band on the biggest night-out of the week. Don't get me wrong - the band was good - but you can't bait and switch like that on a Saturday. The fondue and drinks were delicious, the service was excellent, and the band was jumping! I would definitely go again and recommend it to friends.
